  1. Club director Peter Facenna said: “While we were looking forward to a fiery encounter at the Coliseum last night, sadly any hopes of the meeting sparking into life and getting the tapes fired-up were extinguished, as the meeting was called off due to unrideable track conditions, which was despite the best efforts of the brigade of track staff. “We will bring news of the restaging date when known and look forward to igniting our rivalry with the Gladiators in due course. “Meanwhile, we’d like to wish Tom Brennan the best of luck in Riders’ Championship at Poole tonight. He has a burning desire to do well in the competition.” https://glasgowtigers.co.uk/hopes-of-completing-league-fixtures-go-up-in-smoke-at-plymouth/ Look at Glasgow with all the fire puns!!
  2. No one has really done any predictions yet! I'll go with 1. Bomber 2. Lawson 3. Pickering.
  3. Well it was! And then there were clashes with abroad. I think Bomber was at least one of the riders who would have missed originally staging.
  4. You still have the problem of no one else being prepared to hold the meeting apart from Poole. So people can suggest BV, Sheffield etc but if they don't want to hold it...
  5. Probably had an impact yes, but Poole track better prepared these days. Before they sorted the track out last season at end of August, I'd say no way would it be on. Also I think Redcar staying down after Plymouth rain off might have made them work harder to get it on. Also Charles Wright seemed keen if they could sort the track out. Definitely helps if riders are positive while track work is being done!
  6. He's just worried about the odds of a Poole rider winning doubling!
  7. But at Poole all the riders did a track walk with the ref and were all happy to give it a go. That is the difference! They prob had a idea how it was going to ride
  8. Going by what mac101 said about all riders saying it was dangerous going into first bend, then why would they try it??
  9. But not in this day! Not sure there is any way of defending it. I must say the Speedway Shambles twitter account is having a field day with this!
  10. Well there must be something wrong if it is classed as 'unfit.'
  11. Every right to be tbf. Especially as we got ours on last week with an hours amount of track work.
  12. I wouldn't say Tungate knows WR 'very well' though if we are going by Mike's post.
  13. That doesn't really narrow it down. An Aussie who has ridden for Poole lol.
  14. I have no idea, but lot of the month was the jubilee thingy, so wasn't really expecting any changes in the riding order.
  15. Yeah, I guess. But at least he is at 2 rather than reserve. Apart from his first ride Steve struggling a little bit tonight at Wolves. Wonder if shoulder still a bit painful.
  16. Also need match fitness though. But get your point, there is a danger of not qualifying for SFs.
  17. Okay, thanks for that. Always good and important to get both sides. Important meeting for both sides and throw in an incident like that always gonna boil over I guess.
  18. We still got KOC against Leicester at some point, so if that gets done before they have to choose, they might see how that goes first!
