  1. Apparently they think forecast has rain stopping at 7.15 and will do track work and then riders will review it.
  2. Friend at stadium says it is easing off now Or maybe not!
  3. Personally think it will be closer than that with Newman at reserve. Wet track always helps the away team as well. So I know Redcar are targeting a point, but maybe they should be going for more than that!
  4. True, met office now has only 10% chance of rain! Someone tell them to water the track!!!
  5. Happened near start of season Plymouth vs Poole KOC meeting. Crashed and from what I remember an existing metal plate was sticking out of his arm. I'm sure that is what was reported. No close up shots on the stream thank goodness as I'm not sure I could cope with the image!
  6. Not looking so good anymore unfortunately with thunderstorms predicted all afternoon! Although with 60% chance of rain most of the time, you never know we might get away with it!
  7. Yep, probably why Plymouth feel like they have to post a video to prove it! Always the same when called off cos of a forecast, everyone always asking if it is raining yet!
  8. Hans Andersen in the line up, thought he would be included but wasn't sure if he was due to be riding in Denmark. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/miscellaneous/hans-rides-for-great-friend/?fbclid=IwAR36FD5zGzqNaTdl5tOlQL5j8lkSKz1QJuHALtburPSBdq0S8C-8QAg10EE
  9. Oh right, haven't heard of that one before! Hard to predict where thunderstorms are going to hit i guess! This morning the met office had a 'thunder shower' at midday tomorrow but have taken it off for now.
  10. Forecast a bit better for tomorrow now https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gcn8db1mu#?date=2022-08-17
  11. That was the one where we just scrapped into 4th and beat Birmingham in the final? Have they forgiven us for that yet?
  12. Well at 7.15 I voted and when you do it shows you the results at the time. After 628 votes it was 75.5% for changing to aggregate bonus point.
  13. Yes, in theory it sounds not a bad idea. But I would say Peterborough a better neutral (Prem) track although that would favour Glasgow lol. Although if they agreed what they have changed it to in the winter, bet there would have been a fixture backlog!
  14. Still think it should be done over a weekend like Fri - Glasgow Sat - Leicester Sun - Poole or Fri - Poole Sat - Leicester Sun- Glasgow.
  15. Not really such a thing as a neutral track though with all the doubling up. If it stayed at Sheffield, Leicester have an advantage with 2 Sheffield riders in their team.
  16. I would have thought if you email them and explain that you don't have a twitter account and how you would have voted, I'm sure they would include it. Though a twitter account is easy enough to set up if you wanted to vote that way.
  17. CHAMPIONSHIP promoters are considering a change to the league scoring system for 2023 – and want supporters to have their say on whether to go ahead. Promoters are looking into options for simplifying the league table, which would also mean a return for the aggregate bonus point. The aggregate point, which still operates elsewhere in Europe, is awarded to the team with the highest score across home and away matches between two clubs. This gives teams additional incentive to score as many points as possible in the ‘first leg’ and can often add excitement to the return fixture even if the match itself is already won. Under the new proposal, the league scoring would be amended to two points for a win (home or away), one point to each club for a draw, and one aggregate point for the team winning over the two legs. We will be running a poll on @SpeedwayGB Twitter, which will close on Friday evening, where the options will be: Existing league scoring (keep things as they are) New league scoring (including aggregate point) The poll will open at 6pm on Monday August 15, and close at 6pm on Friday August 19. We look forward to seeing your feedback. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/championship/championship-2023-your-vote/
  18. I'm gonna pull out the JD card I'm afraid! How old was he when he suddenly clicked 26/28? Not everyone progresses at the rate people expect.
  19. Yeah, they have redone The Jungle Book recently, so I would have thought so. If the DJ won't play the Glasgow song he not gonna play that! lol
