  1. Ipswich Witches‏ @ipswichspeedway 13m13 minutes ago More We've got news of a new signing very shortly, keep your eyes peeled... #Tru7Witches If it's James Shanes we might as well give the trophy to Ippo now!! (But there again maybe not based on their previous record!!)
  2. The shortage of available 2 pointers lends itself to talk of deliberate average reductions assuming teams don't to make multiple changes. Every year I think the sport has reached the bottom of the stupidity pit when it comes to rules changes - and then someone in the BSPA finds a new spade.
  3. Congrats to Peterborough for providing a good race track yesterday. Nice and smooth and so much overtaking inside and outside. Certainly young Pickering seemed to enjoy it even with his hand injuries. Shame it took so long to replace the air bags but at least they did their job and allowed BWD and the Showman to get up and walk away.
  4. Oh me of little faith! Fantastic point against the odds. That Pickering boy is sensational. And a huge hand to guest Danny Ayres - especially after that horrendous crash in heat 14 he was still prepared to go all out against Osty.
  5. Lambeth has gone well tonight. Beat ayres twice plus cleggy
  6. Wonder what would happen if "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Any More"?
  7. Reckon you're right Mr. B. With a well timed TR 2 pointer we might just about get close to 35. At least the Truck Fest has been and gone I believe so the track shouldn't be in too bad a state.
  8. But he did fall off - 1st bend in heat 1 - clash with Smiler who also came down. I heard that he got dirt in his fuel tank from that crash and they were having to swap parts to/from his spare bike. But also heard he bent a frame. So I don't think he was being unprofessional - probably just losing money from taking the booking.
  9. Oh dear they'll not be dancing in the streets of worky tonight.
  10. Going purely on averages............ Williamson 5.89 (but in fairness only from 3H/1A) The Gapp 5.79 (3H/4A) Sid Perks 5.33 (3H/3A) But I agree when it comes down to nuumber 7's he might well be the strongest - just a pity that the number 6 is one of the weakest.
  11. Perks is a fair way down the pecking order for that honour I'm afraid. Mark Riss, BWD, Matt Williamson, Danny the Gapp and even Stefan Nielsen all a fair way ahead.
  12. Gutted that Ippo threw a point to the Weegies at the close. But I suppose without Shanes it could have been 3 or 4 points so it could have been worse. I fully expected an Ippo win by 20 points or more but (through gritted teeth) the Weegie heat leaders all had good rides and Perry did better than I expected. Thought Dan the Wee Man would have scored better - started off with a good ride to keep Kingy behind him but didn't do too much after that. And of course the all conquering Ippo heat leaders Came and Saw but didn't Conquer. (Thanks Julius!!) Shanes is certainly a wanted man at the moment - if only the Weeg hadn't changed to a Saturday maybe they could have nicked him? Nice to see Sedgy ride the way I expected albeit only in his 4th ride. Nobody told him the track had been changed. Surprised at how well Mr. Heeps is going at the moment - the break from one of his 2016 sponsors is obviously not doing him any harm. Also good to finally meet the leg-ends that are Paulco and Willie - hope you are still on schedule guys!!
  13. Jeez factor 50 weather. Struggling to reach double figures here. Even Armadiddle is getting better weather.
  14. Is it ever anything else?!! I see it's warm back in weegieville!
  15. Dan the wee 12 Year Old Boy was indeed riding for the A team last season - shame he was forced to defect in the winter but I blame the Manchester Mob for that. At least he looks nearer 13 this season. He did indeed score only 2 from 5 that night but that was when he was still overawed by the exotic company of the team mates he was riding with who were all legends and heroes to him. And of course he was wrongly excluded in his first ride after a clean pass on Ollie Greenwood. In those days he usually gave everyone 10 yards start from the tapes but his heroes eventually got that sorted out for him. The highlight for me was at the Posh Showoffground where he was unbeaten in his first 3 rides and finished with 10+2 out of our total of 52!! Happy days but if he rides like that at Fox Holes it could be VERY close even with Sedgy in Ippo colours.
  16. Jeez nearly 3 weeks between home meetings. Really??!!!
  17. Cheers mate! Sounds a great schedule. Hope the weather behaves. Nice that you start and finish in the same place! Just a shame you'll miss out on Smiler and the Riss Big Brother at Somerset!
  18. If you're going into a shop that sells tablet, a wee bag would go down a treat! And if you come across a couple of cans of Sweetheart Stout.....!!
