  1. So?? Cookie will be 30 on the day we visit (Sunday week) and Danny King is nudging 31. What age was Tiger Louis when he started? We get far too fixated with age in speedway. It's down to how good you are not how old you are.
  2. To be honest I haven't noticed much improvement in the racing. And watching the racing at the Showground on Sunday I was struck by how much more entertaining it was there with a feast of overtaking on inside and outside lines. Maybe it was the track or maybe it was the quality of the opposition but the racing was certainly a lot better. Sorry.
  3. If it rains throughout the land for the next 6 months we will have won the league in May. Unless Berwick's track covers help them.
  4. Since we only went down by 3 with our seriously weakened team, newcy should be looking for the 3 points from this.
  5. Yep that's what I was saying - Greaves is a bl**dy good signing and will make total mincemeat of his starting average.
  6. The GM has 2 pairs of eyes, with reactions faster than the speed of light.
  7. You should be pairing Sarj with TJ. Ref would not be able to watch both of them so wouldn't know who to exclude.
  8. Just get a few to drop their averages. You know it makes sense!!
  9. You're all being a bit hard on Greaves. He will be a damned good signing. See this from Speedway Updates - 24 April Heat 02: Greaves, Riss, Clegg, Perks; 57.26; 5-1; 10-2 Heat 04: Nicholls, Masters, Greaves, Perks; 55.87; 3-3; 15-9 And Perks has been getting rave reviews. And 18 April Heat 11:(Re-Run): Fricke,Masters,Greaves,Worrall...56.80. (3-3). 36-30. Heat 12:(Re-Run): Bjerre,Bewley,Greaves,Skornicki...57.06. (1-5). 37-35. Greaves chases. He has been much better tonight. And of course a 5+1 from 4 last week. Sounds like a great signing to me.
  10. Ipswich Witches‏ @ipswichspeedway 13m13 minutes ago More We've got news of a new signing very shortly, keep your eyes peeled... #Tru7Witches If it's James Shanes we might as well give the trophy to Ippo now!! (But there again maybe not based on their previous record!!)
  11. The shortage of available 2 pointers lends itself to talk of deliberate average reductions assuming teams don't to make multiple changes. Every year I think the sport has reached the bottom of the stupidity pit when it comes to rules changes - and then someone in the BSPA finds a new spade.
  12. Congrats to Peterborough for providing a good race track yesterday. Nice and smooth and so much overtaking inside and outside. Certainly young Pickering seemed to enjoy it even with his hand injuries. Shame it took so long to replace the air bags but at least they did their job and allowed BWD and the Showman to get up and walk away.
  13. Oh me of little faith! Fantastic point against the odds. That Pickering boy is sensational. And a huge hand to guest Danny Ayres - especially after that horrendous crash in heat 14 he was still prepared to go all out against Osty.
  14. Lambeth has gone well tonight. Beat ayres twice plus cleggy
