  1. PREMIERSHIP and Championship leagues team points average increased to 42.5 with the Premiership permitted one rider of an average of 8.00 or more. Championship has no restrictions. I assume the "one rider" refers to the initial team declaration for the season, and doesn't compel teams to drop any other rider/s whose average goes to 8.00 or above during the season? Say, for instance, a team starts with one 8+, together with two 7.75s and when the green sheets appear, all three are over 8.00 - can they retain all three? On the reverse, when the green sheets appear, if all three are below 8.00 - can that team, who declared with one 8+ at the start of the season, bring in another 8+ at the expense of a rider whilst staying below the total limit? Also, has it been declared how the team build averages are to be calculated in 2018 - do they include bonus points, the nominated heat, tac sub rides . . . ?
  2. Perhaps we should open a "Steve Shoveller 2018" thread, where he can go and play to his heart's content, and leave us Coventry fans on here to discuss sensibly our current problems and how we might see the sport return to Warwickshire Oh, by the way, if you'd taken the trouble to check, SS, those behind the Save Coventry Speedway & Stox have indicated that they have plenty of funds available for future projects
  3. Are you "Rob McCaffery" or "Rob McCaffrey"? The latter used to be on Sky Sports, according to wikipedia
  4. If you're wondering where your shoveller is, he's on the Coventry thread - shovelling as usual
  5. The shoveller is shovelling again Hope one day he falls into the pile he's shovelled Can't see many helping him to escape
  6. But I've seen - as an example - the different levels of crowd attendance at Brandon, over many seasons, for a televised meeting compared with that when it wasn't televised There was a significant lowering of attendees I guess other tracks will have seen the same or similar (I exclude the play-offs from this - I'm talking about regular league meetings)
  7. If they go for Monday and Thursday for the Premiership, and televise live Premiership on Mondays, those other tracks running on a Monday will be in direct opposition to the tv - I take it more tracks will operate on a Monday than at present if fixed nights comes about Doesn't make a lot of sense - if there has to live tv there should be no other track running that night
  8. Isn't a big part of the problem having the two separate factions (Premiership and Championship promoters) pulling in different directions? One league, all pull together in the same direction Doubling up/down just has to go, it has caused so many ills in our wonderful sport Get rid, go big league
  9. That would make sense, edited highlights more likely to attract new fans
  10. Check your sums - BT subscription per month v Admission + travel each meetingDecent saving without being tight
  11. Best way then is one big league on the nights that suit
  12. Let's hope then that they opt for one big league racing on the nights the clubs/promoters/fans want - makes more sense Taking their own interest rather than turkeys voting for Christmas - makes more sense
  13. That'll keep the armchair supporters happy, save them having to pay their entrance money at the turnstiles Another coffin nail hammered in
  14. Would be interested to hear from Neil Watson on this!
  15. How many points would that be? What's the limit for 2018?
  16. So? That doesn't make it right for UK it wouldn't be necessary if we went for one British League plus a National Development League
