The qualifying rounds were, to some extent, date-fillers - Bees used a Wednesday night for theirs But the final was a big event, to look forward to - Boocock, Briggs, Ashby, McKinlay, Wilson, Olsen, Gundersen etc It worked because 99% of the riders were local and glad of the extra meeting, with some glory to aim for Now it would only work with one big league and less journeymen riders Oh, to turn that clock back"
-
Please will Neil Watson shed some light on this - Bees supporters, speedway fans, deserve at least a little of the reasoning behind this, and it won't be enough to suggest it's to keep the Coventry Speedway name alive

Strange how Mr Shoveller has "liked" the above post about him! -
I know the feeling! I'm only a year younger than you!

BUT you forgot to capitalise the first word! Standards are slipping - oh, I thought it was an automatic thing with you! PS It's Milik! Standards ARE slipping! And by the way - absolutely no one seriously seems to be enjoying the subject of these discussions

Time for Mr Rising to restrict his comments to facts, otherwise the whole sorry saga will get out of hand It was mildly amusing to begin with - the "mixed" teams Surprised no one suggested a pool of guest riders from non-competing nations on stand-by in case they're needed! Pairs events cannot be taken seriously until a decent, credible scoring method is established 1st and 2nd / 1st and 3rd - one can see the winning pair But 1st and 4th v 2nd and 3rd - which pair wins?

Tactical Substitutes Question?
Midland Red replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Too many meetings seem to have been decided by a 7 ride reserve score -

Foot Holder!!!!! Jack or Chris?

Are you "Rob McCaffery" or "Rob McCaffrey"? The latter used to be on Sky Sports, according to wikipedia
-
Do you really imagine that we think of this venture by Mr Horton as being "our team"? Reminds one of Wimbledon FC and MK Dons in a way, or Wasps RFC - what percentage of original match-going fans moved to the new homes? Get real, Mr Whateveryourrealnameis, and stop fishing and shovelling YOUR garbage on here

Holes, shovel - only to be expected!

You are assuming that all Coventry supporters live within "a few miles" "not more than 30 minutes drive" from Leicester SpeedwayHow wrong you are - Coventry have always drawn on support from a wide area of Warwickshire and West Midlands - and further afield - which would leave them further away than your assumptions suggest You simplify matters to support your unwelcome arguments, whilst setting them out in a way which suggests clarity of thought - hold them up to scrutiny and they fall apart

Presenters And Announcers

Allen Walker, Ted Sear and John Earrey were the stand-outs for me And I always thought Mike Holt did a good job at Blackbird Road -
You going back to Swindon?

Oh how you wish! Do stop shovelling, Shoveller

I'm no Pirate

No hole? What about all the shovelling you've been doing, year in year out? Your user name fits you to a tee - well chosen, whatever your name is Just clear off back to the hairdresser's thread and leave this one alone
