  1. Holder had lost full control, his foot was in the air off the footrest, causing him to stray slightly off his line and make contact with Kildemand, causing him to fall Correct decision IMHO
  2. Are you really saying "the rest of us enjoy the commentary"? That isn't what comes across on the BSF Spot on. I was going to say, wouldn't it be great if we went into the Melbourne GP with 15 riders level on points - what a tense, special meeting that would be. But no, it looks like the "championship" will have been decided before that meeting, so it may only be a qualifier for the top eight for next season Even if the 15 (I exclude the wildcard - why you have them in a championship I do not know) were level going into Melbourne, under the "new system" we've had for several years, ie semi-finals and final, the winner of the final, so the winner of the meeting, might not be the champion - see Zagar last night Oh for a 20 heat 16 rider World Championship Final, top scorer the winner, which could stand alongside a GP Series - we would have a World Champion and a GP Series winner
  3. Time for one big league, one set of rules - plus a National League for up-and-comers
  4. No lap of honour tonight! Did he mention that he thought the referee was holding the tapes too long?
  5. The latest edition of Ole Olsen's Flying Circus doesn't seem to have raised much interest Mind you, Mr Shoveller's not here dangling any bait
  6. It's not the competition that's tin pot - it's all this doubling up/down rubbish*, poor fixture planning, and riders trying to ride in nineteen different countries every week that's the problem Oh, and the British weather
  7. Surely with a sport so dependent on the weather, a plan B should have already been in place for any playoff postponement, rather than wait until the actual postponement and "see what we can come up with"?
  8. They're not running events throughout the year at one venue like a speedway promoter Don't disagree with that except . . . . riders' costs HAVE to be reduced, in order to reduce promoters' costs, and ultimately reduce, or at least stabilise over a period, admission prices
  9. Shoveller dangles his rod with some bait on it - yes, sometimes it reads as humour, sadly some take him seriously, when all he's doing is shovelling
  10. There's a fishing club down south run by a Mr Shoveller - I'm sure he'd welcome you as a fully-qualified member
  11. My ex-mother in law gave me her autograph book many years ago as it contained some autographs she'd obtained at Brandon when she used to go as a youngster They turned out to be from 1930, and include Jack Parker, Squib Burton and . . . Tom Farndon! Needless to say, it's a treasured possession - I wonder if it has any monetary value?
  12. Two things Sir Shoutalot gets excited about: We're entering tactical country We're on for a last heat decider Quite agree about the second one, but not the first - double points should be done away with, a return to the old tac sub rule and choice of gates
  13. I "liked" this post apart from the description of Messrs Bukkhave and Garcia, which is deplorable - the sentiment of the remainder of the post is fine
  14. It's to pay for the fireworks, and the hot showers for visiting riders see Poole v Coventry!!!!
