What about Ole Olsen, surely the best Coventry rider. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Like i said Tommy was one of the greatest riders to wear the Bees race jacket. Ole was the greatest.

He was absoloutely awesome!!! In my opinion he was one of the greatest riders to wear the Bees race jacket. Anyone remember his testimonial meeting when they held a womens race? The rider at the back was soooooo out of control, then at the end of the race the riders helmet came off and it was Tommy. And to watch him on that night in a match race with Ole was truly memorable.

Shazzybird. I remember Tatum when he rode for Bees. There was no-one to beat him from the tapes. He was probably the fastest gater i've ever seen. But that was then. I agree with you about the guts and determination, he has plenty of it but can he still cut it in such a prestigous event? I'll see how he goes over the next few weeks before i answer that. I hope he can recapture the skill and speed he had in the eighties as he was a great rider to watch.

The best Bees team would be 1. Ole Olsen 2. Hans Nielsen 3. Kelvin Tatum 4. Greg Hancock 5. Tommy Knudsen 6. Andreas Jonsson 7. Billy Hammil (before he past his best before date). If only averages / gradings didn't exist.
