  4. hey TST - long time no see I would be honoured to attend the birthday bash of the year - I am still working out what I can and can't make GP wise this year but will of course announce my intentions in good course - perhaps we could educate Pugwash in the ways of getting blind drunk (as if he needs the education!) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Get urself sorted Splatty, will need to have somewhere to curl my feet !!!!!!!!, if i remember right that leather sofa in the Brda bar was especially comfortable, the bash starts friday and continues until ..... unconsciousness on another day....hic.... sirmatty... your welcome to attend the more the merrier in more ways than one... just hope you can keep up with our pace.....lol TST
  5. Thanks Sharon, count us in. Same G.P's as us, but we're also doing Krsko again. Methanol and Pivo cocktails? I'll try anything once. F-S-P / Spatty probably already done it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can't be any worse than the Mad Dog that I tried last year, vodka (good), tabasco sauce (not so good) and orange juice (not used to it)......pivo and methanol could be an acquired taste TST
  6. Looks like I will have to be like the Queen Rico, two birthdays... can't have a birthday bash without Tomek although I'm sure that yourself, the Pugwashes, Splatty Papa B & crew , FSP, Henry B and others will make sure my birthday goes with a swing. Rico... I am expecting to hear Happy Birthday in Polish, you best get practicing!!! TST

  9. Hi Steve I did all the GP's last year, booking my flights and hotels independently, the only one that is a real "problem" is Slovenia. While the public transport from Lublijana to Brezice is OK, there is a severe lack of available transport from thereon in. Krsko is a good half hour by road from Brezice. I would recommend car hire for Slovenia. Hotels can be a problem, the nearest hotel to the track is the Schremic which is actually a good walk from the track, but its located in a town with a nuclear power station in it. The best hotel is the Termez complex at Termez Catez but this as I said is half hour away from the track. Taxis are in VERY short supply, when I was out there I was told by the taxi driver that they have two taxis in the town!!! Other than that the scenery is magnificent and is well worth a visit TheStartTart
  10. Having been at Hamar and not having the benefit of continual SKY updates as many armchair viewers had, I was pretty much gobsmacked by Ht 19, firstly with the crash, then the exclusion to the extent that I wasn't really taking that much notice of the "what happens if" scenario. It's true to say tho they had to announce it twice that JC was World Champ. Was great to see Jason Crump take the Championship finally and for TRick to get on the podium along with Gollob and Hancock, quite a few winners all round. Just my view TheStartTart
  11. You must have walked the wrong way round Joanne, no Gents when I tried to get to you, will catch up with you at Bydgoszcz, Glad you had a good time TheStartTart
  12. Come on, The StartTart, shock me now so I'll be prepared for it, what's expensive ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well Joanne be prepared for expensive beer and food, Norway is not the place to be going out drinking best to use up your duty free alllowance at the ferry port The StartTart
  13. We are staying there too. Have stayed there the last couple of years. Its ok. We will all be wearing Jason Crump caps, I will be wearing a Jason Crump coat aswell. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Will be my first time at the Tulip Inn Munch Rob B, glad to hear that its OK, stayed at a different hotel last year. Will look out for you in the hotel, dunno what happened to my IOW cap, will have to either wear the Scottie Nicholls one or my no fear one. Hope to catch up with you TheStartTart
  14. TheStartTart is heading off to Norway, for her 9th and final GP (I can hear the bank manager breathing a sigh of relief and calling off the baliffs), staying in Olso as there is not much happening in Hamar. Hopefully more interesting than last year <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey we are staying in Oslo too, is it easy to get around, we are at the best western west, never been and no nothing about the place, trains trams etc. we arrive at 00.10 sat morning and have to try and fin our hotel and then a train to the stadium after? so any advice help appreciated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey Tape2Tape Email me sharongrundy@yahoo.co.uk and I will try and help, give me as much detail as you can TheStartTart <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi Sharon, it's Ken who does the filming at IOW! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Guessed it was you Ken, how the devil are ya, so whats happening about Oslo, best advice for getting to the stadium is to book up on the coach service, its advertised on http://www.speedwayworld.tv/newhome/norwegian2004/coach.htm it seems to be the cheapest way of getting there, I looked at the price of the trains and it is NOK 196 for a single journey, there is no train back out of Hamar at the finish time. The coach journey costs Nkr. 150 - one way, Nkr. 250 - both ways, if I remember rightly last year its about the same length of time, went on the bus last year and it was OK. If you do decide to get the train to the stadium (there is some stunning scenery to be seen) I would advise you get a taxi from the train station to the stadium as its a fair walk. Hope to catch up with you there. Have copied this to your email as well Sharon <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi again tape2tape Had a quick look at the Oslo airport site, there is some information on there about getting to Oslo Central. Checked out the trains, there are none!!. There seems to be some buses that run, check out http://www2.osl.no/index.asp?startID=&topE...cADmain=1000169 for more information, the last bus is 1 am, my advice is to get off at Busterminallen and then try and pick up a taxi outside the station, if I remember rightly the bus and train station are pretty much co located. Look forward to catching up with you. Sharon
  15. Great to catch up with you too Joanne, I'm staying in the The Tulip Inn Munch Hotel, Munchsgate 5, Oslo getting there on Friday, plan to have a look around this year, which looking at the map is not that far away from your hotel. Last year I made it into a pub/restaurant called The Scotsman, pub on top restaurant below, nice hostelry, expensive beer, plan to make it there again after the meeting, hopefully I will catch up with at the meeting and then we can plan a quiet celebration/commiseration If you have a mobile send me an email offlist sharongrundy@yahoo.co.uk and then I can txt you and you can direct me to your seat easier than trying to find a brown fleece TheStartTart

  20. Fact or Fantasy Splatty?, Bydgoszcz = Fact, Hangover = Fact =, My Dream = Fantasy(will never happen) Send email address, have photo for you PS Made breakfast on the Sunday, just..............
  21. Wrong Bryn, all wrong, I blame it on the Kebab, was fine until then, the LECH had nothing to do with it, the double vodkas after the LECH might have, have to say that neither were as horrific as the MAD DOG on Saturday night for the uninitiated MAD DOG is vodka, tabasco sauce and a splash of juice. Have to say that I have seen parts (which will remain nameless) of a speedway rider (who will remain nameless) that no speedway fan should ever see. Nice to meet up with Rico, Pugwash, Splatty, Papa Bazarou and plenty of others whose names I can't remember. Long live Bydgoszcz and roll on Bydgoszcz 2005
  22. Last year a few of us met up in the bar at the Hotel Brda - I was going to suggest something similar this year for starters on the Friday evening. I'm sure Papa B will confirm a fine evening was had by one and all Rico <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good god yes Rico, if my hangover was anything to go by, I'll be at the Brda again this year, and you are more than welcome to assist me in the quest of consuming copious amounts of alcohol....
  23. I wish I could take credit for the post below, but it was on another speedway forum, it seems it might not be a two horse race. From: swaalen <swaalen@o...> Date: Mon Sep 22, 2003 9:13 am Subject: The Hamar Showdown Hi all This is how me figures things has to happen in Hamar: Of course if Crump or Pedersen wins in Hamar they will be World Champion If Adams wins in Hamar Rickardsson can NOT be World Champion If Rickardsson wins in Hamar, Adams can NOT be World Champion If Crump gets to the final, and Pedersen doesn`t Crump is World Champion If Pedersen gets to the final and Crump doesn`t, Pedersen is World Champion If both Pedersen and Crump gets to the final, whomever finish in front of the other is World Champion If Rickardsson wins and Crump and Pedersen finish OUTSIDE the final Crump must finish 5th or 6th), Rickardsson is World Champion based on having the same amount of first and second places as Crump, but one third place to Crumps forth place (that ef at the tapes in Gothenburg can prove to be vital) Pedersen can not be World Champion if he finishes outside the final and Rickardsson wins it If Adams wins he is World Champion if Crump and Pedersen finish OUTSIDE the semifinals
  24. I've booked with RyanAir on the nice little promo they had, have done a little homework on this and there is a bus from Torp airport which connects with all the Ryanair flights to take you into Oslo. This service is open to all passengers travelling to and from Sandefjord Airport Torp. Since the bus service corresponds with Ryanair's flights to and from Sandefjord Airport Torp, it will wait for Ryanair passengers in the event of any delays. The bus will leave 30 minutes after arrival. Tickets cost NOK 98 each way for adults and NOK 49 for children (aged 3-15). Children under three years travel free. I shall be flying out on 3 Oct and returning back to the UK 6 Oct. So if there is anyone interested in meeting up for a few shandies either pre or post GP, email me . Sharon
