  1. Very true The new Coventry City football club owner is quoted as saying every championship club loses £10-£15 millions a year. Not really viable is it . lets accentuate the positives FFS. Speedway and stock cars will work at Brandon it was never empty, the average crowd in 2016 for stocks and speedway was just over 2000 as reported in the planning appeal. All the best for the Dons as well, this new venue sounds very suitable . Up the Bees and Dons
  2. I don’t think Rugby BC would go down this route if they didn’t have all their ducks in a row legally. Brandon estates are in a corner now trying to play poker with no cards. It’s certainly a pivotal time , looking back at the closing statements from the appeal even hooper from the dark side BE admitted that a compulsory order compensation could be zero due to the investment needed to return Brandon to a motorsports venue. So take the offer that’s been made already. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome. up the bees
  3. Of course the ball remains in Brandon Estates court, the statement from the campaign group acknowledges that. A housing development is also delusional at this stage. Can Brandon Estates wait for 20 years or so to get something back from their speculative purchase? What is the land worth now 20 acres of Greenfield or Brownfield not sure, with a massive clean up needed . Im sure its in Brandon Estates interest to negotiate for some return now and retain the development potential if motorsports fail in the future removing the need to protect the stadium. You have to retain hope anything else is just embittered. up the bees
  4. His head completely in the clouds regarding the Alexander stadium! £6,000 rent per meeting, meaning tickets for his 600 crowdwould have to start at £100 before you even get tothinking about paying riders, cloud cuckoo land, ……………………. i make that £10 per head The rest might be right to be fair.
  5. The alternate venue route was looked at but dismissed as futile. There was a site put forward near Brandon village, away from any built up areas, it was eco friendly etc but failed at the first hurdle and considered inappropriate not worthy of even trying for planning. Other sites were explored but it was deemed the best chance was to remain at the site that has the permission to run motorsports. I do get the impression though that this will be resolved one way or the other this year.
  6. Of course it’s a challenge and can go either way but there is hope. Rugby BC are backing the return of motorsports. There is a consortium with the relevant funds and expertise to manage the project And we have Cecil up the bees
  7. FWIW Chris Holder lives in Northamptonshire he has moved from the south coast.
  8. Well done to the savePeterborough team there is always hope if you can stop the houses. Same ruling won the day at Brandon and I know the real battle lies ahead.
  9. I know Nicky P would have played it differently if he was in Lamparts place, he would have bailed and done his outraged act shaking of the head and wagging his finger at Chris holder. meanwhile the cat in the hat would be at the refs box.
