Behind closed doors?

That`s not what`s been said in Sweden- our Swedish correspondent Ghostie has said that the start date for the season has been postponed indefinitely. -
Google translation Published on: 15/05/2020 The first round of this year's European Championship game will not run as planned at Vojens Speedway Center. On Friday, Polish licensee ONE Sport announces that '2020 Ovethi - Dæk.dk Speedway Euro Championship' has been canceled. Director Jacob Olsen sees the cancellation as a loss for Danish speedway. By Ib Søby The race was scheduled to run on Saturday, June 20, when Danish European champion Mikkel Michelsen, together with world stars such as Leon Madsen and Nicki Pedersen, should have started the European Championships in four races. In addition to the prestigious title, the winner also achieves participation in the 2021 World Cup Grand Prix. Instead, the entire series will probably be run in Poland. - We are saddened that this year's SEC Round 1 in Vojens cannot be run as planned due to the coronavirus situation in Europe, writes Jan Koniekiewicz of ONE Sport in a press release. - Our common goal with FIM-Europe, Eurosport and everyone involved is still to implement SEC 2020 and create a new European champion. Currently, under the current restrictions on travel, quarantine rules and finances, the only possible way is to run the entire series behind closed doors in Poland. Details and the new calendar will be announced in the following days. Director of Speed1Way, which runs the Vojens Speedway Center, Jacob Olsen, also regrets that Danish fans lose a major international event on Danish soil. - It is not only a serious loss for Vojens Speedway Center, but also for Danish speedway as a whole. The SEC EM series has become very attractive, where Danish top riders can compare with some of the world's best. Last year we had a fantastic evening when the SEC European Championship was at the same time opening the new era at the national speedway arena here in Vojens, says Jacob Olsen. Vojens Speedway Center still has this year's Danish World Cup Grand Prix, Saturday September 12, and the individual DM, Wednesday September 30, on the calendar. - We now focus on the two events in September, and hope for great support from the audience and fans. It may be that we get through a difficult season with the skin on our noses, says Jacob Olsen. Whether the Danish league, where the SES - Southern Jutland Elite Speedway should make its debut, is being completed is yet to be determined. On Saturday, May 16, the management of the Danish clubs will meet and discuss the possibilities. Buyers for the SEC EM race will receive an email directly from Billetlugen.dk with further information about reimbursement.

Interesting news- just one point, initially N Sport announced that the TV for the E Winner league would be 1 match Saturday and 1 match Sunday(before the 2 Extraleague matches on the channel) Is this definite that it has now changed to 100% Saturday`s ? -

I think it`s unreasonable of you to blame BSI for Warsaw refunds- they are not the promoters of this GP - the PZM are and as you say have promised to refund ticket holders who cannot make the restaging date( and no doubt the re restaging date !!) I would suggest you give them a bit longer to announce how they will do it. The president of the PZM is Michal Sikora as listed here https://www.pzm.pl/o-nas/biuro- you could try and politely ask him via social media (or any of the other names listed) if they can give you an answer to when refunds will start to be issued. -
The days are being counted down on the calendar !! less than a month to go now. We know that the matches will be ridden in empty stadiums and it will be interesting how this affects the watching experience. Could there be a late bid from BT, SKY, British Eurosport or Premier to show and help fill their schedules ? The timings should be announced shortly. I wonder if any intrepid fans will be climbing trees at the stadiums to catch a bit of the action Friday June 12th Wroclaw v Lublin Eleven Sports Sunday June 14th Gorzow v Leszno N Sport Sunday June 14th Rybnik v Zielona Gora N Sport Monday June 15th Czestochowa v Grudziadz Eleven Sports

A friend of mine has found this quiz in a 1985 Reading programme. I have no idea who set it but is there no end to this mans talents Does anyone want to exercise their brain box during this lockdown ? Racers line up was 1 John Davis 2 Tim Hunt 3 Jan Andersson 4 Mitch Shirra 5 Per Jonsson 6 Mark Chessell 7 Malc Holloway Quiz read IN a fictitious home British league match the Racers won 46-32. Fill in the riders score chart given that. The Racers rode as programmed(no tacticals or reserve substitutions used) The opposition only won heats 2,4 and 8 and only John, Jan and Per won races for the Racers. The opposition recorded one 5-1 in heat 8 and one 4-2 in heat 2. the Racers recorded three 5-1`s in heats 5,10 and 12 also four 4-2`s in heats 3,6,9 and 13. John top scored with twice as many as Mitch, who scored twice as many as Mark. Tim fell in his 1st race and was excluded. Malc`s engine seized in his 1st race. The reserves scored only 3 points. There is only one possible score chart layout. The league format in 85 was 13 heats heat 1 1 2 V 1 2 heat 2 6 7 V 6 7 heat 3 5 4 V 5 4 heat 4 3 6 V 3 7 heat 5 5 4 V 1 2 heat 6 1 2 V 3 6 heat 7 3 6 V 5 4 heat 8 2 7 V 2 7 heat 9 5 4 V 3 6 heat 10 1 2 V 5 4 heat 11 3 7 V 1 2 heat 12 1 4 V 3 5 heat 13 3 5 V 1 4
