  1. Don't think you will have a problem with the GP here mate. http://speedwaygp.com/ Put this on your laptop and you'll be set. It really has been the best stream anywhere, so far, for the 2 GPs. All you have to do, wherever you are is cry "Help" and i'll put up whatever I've got for you in the spirit of our helpful International section.. Hope you have a great trip. All the best. Alan.
  2. As a neutral this has been a very entertaining meeting. Heart in the mouth time with the Schramm/Rosen spill but an excellent advert for the Premier League. Well done guys.
  3. Some memories for you. Very poignant message from his daughter. Regards. Alan. http://www.speedwayplus.com/JackMillen.shtml
  4. The old "You live and learn " mate. I must have been sleeping when he was around as I've honestly never heard of him until you brought him up. Bloody sad way to go, as well. Hope he's smiling down from the "great pits in the sky" I love what you say about him never refusing a kid an autograph. All the best. Alan.
  5. I presume you mean Jack Milne- 1937 World Champ.? If so, I honestly don't know anything about him, other than he was very influential in US speedway in the 60s/70s/80s. Dad told me about he and brother Cordy 'tearing it up" in London in the 30's- but hey they were young and crazy like we all were (To some extent. ) Yes, remember Mark Courtney falling afoul too. After being arrested in May 1997, Courtney was sentenced to six years in prison in 1988 for his part in a plot to import cannabis with a street value of GB£500,000 into the UK.[1] Still luv'em when they are at the tapes. Regards. Alan.
  6. Totally agree my friend. I've always said that I totally admire and love them all, but you have to be slightly bonkers to risk your neck every race. Sent you a PM re streaming. Best. Alan.
  7. Worth it just for the PARADE !! Shame it won't be televised (I presume) because it has always been rattling good entertainment. I'm sure you had a great weekend and glad you got back safely. Back to normal next weekend. I guess we should keep our eyes out for this Poland v Oz meeting this week. Hope springs eternal. All the best. Alan. Another one, Pawel, and a bit more recent was Coventry's Australian rider, Gary Guglielmi, who shipped his bike back to Australia at the end of the 1984 season.. Only problem was he had filled every opening- tank, handlebars etc. with a white powder. ( and it wasn't self raising flour!! ) The sniffer dogs went to work and Gary was a guest of the government for a while. Shame because he was good. Such is life. Alan.
  8. Pawel, I'm sure you know, but we speedway starved fans in the USA and Canada are able to watch live on the official GP site. It is apparently blocked in countries where it is broadcast, but we benefit here for once. Perfect HD and just like watching on TV. Since my monitor is 24" that's fine for me. All the best. Alan. http://speedwaygp.com/
  9. Going back a bit but Split Waterman who came second in the 1951 World Final had a "chequered" business career. After speedway, Waterman went into business in sheet metal working and plastic injection moulding, making plastic goods for companies such as Woolworth and Airfix.[2] In 1967 he was arrested at Newhaven while attempting to board a ferry to Dieppe, after gold with a value of £10,000 was found in the chassis of his fiancée Avril Priston's car.[9] A subsequent raid at Priston's family home in Bedfordshire found illegal firearms.[9] Waterman was convicted in 1968 of attempting to smuggle gold out of Britain, as well as unlawful possession of firearms including two sub-machine guns, two rifles, and three pistols, and possession of dies for forging coins, and sentenced to four years in prison.[10][11][12] The gold was thought to have come from a bullion van robbery in Clerkenwell.[12] Priston was convicted of conspiracy to smuggle gold and possession of two pistols and a pen gun, and was sentenced to six months in prison.[12] I think he is still living in Spain- he'll be about 90. All the best. Alan.
  10. Thanks Pawel. Enjoyable slice of "rustic" speedway. Why wasn't Mrs Rempala riding? What is that building on turn 2- The Shady Nook Motel- 1 zloty for 4 hour rental? Thought Vissing was a bit unlucky to get excluded in heat 15, but there you go. Next time can we get a look at the start line girls please. All the best. Alan.
  11. One of the few times that we speedway starved USA located fans get a look in. Did you have a rough winter in Eskilstuna as we did and are you set for tapes up for Smederna shortly? Regards. Alan.
  12. Sorry, didn,t realise http://www.wiziwig.tv/broadcast.php?matchid=259006&part=sports
  13. That really is a SAD attendance isn't it? Parade now on, so can't be too many more to come in.
  14. Hi Paul, It's free, and the quality is superb so who am I to argue! Why don't great looking girls (babes, women!) attend in England like they do in Poland? Great for morale on a cold night.
  15. Hi all. Official stream here. http://speedwaygp.com/live_stream For the fan who bet on Chris Harris, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I own and it is for sale for $20.00. Let's hope this is as exciting as NZ was. Alan.
  16. "Bless 'em all, bless 'em all, the long and the short and the tall". The trouble is that none of them would be interested in old geezers like us. But, as my wife says "I'll start worrying when you stop looking" Bless her. Alan. We bow to your wisdom.
  17. There. Said they were vulnerable with Ward. Echo Paul. 7 hour marathon, but thoroughly enjoyed. Take care all. Alan.
  18. Holder and Miedzinski- Torun's "vulnerable" pairing. Followed by the really weak pairing of Gollob and Ward.
