  3. Yeah, let's have a Reaper love fest. Perhaps a group hug would warm his bitter and twisted heart.
  4. Terrific effort by Scott I thought, given his physical state. The guy puts on a brave face, but the constant falls given the injuries he's carrying have got to hurt. He shouldn't feel too gutted; because whilst he was unlucky to miss out on the final, he was equally lucky to be in the semi following Andersen's EF.
  5. Why would Sky want to see the matter dropped? They see the feud as great TV, so naturally they take every opportunity to stoke the fire of the issue. And of course Nicki rarely lets them down with his antics. Love him or hate him, the man is pure theatre.
  6. Congrats to Bjarne, Jarek and Trick. What an entertaining and suprising GP that was. More of the same in Cardiff please!
  7. 1 - A good case could be made for the ref to jump more than one way on this one. So probably all back in was the just decision. 2 - I agree, he got it right. 3 - Which then makes his choice NOT to exclude Nicki for the Hancock incident utterly beyond belief.
  8. no problem. I'll mail you an excel spreadsheet. Can't take credit for creating it though. I found it through this forum. Sadly, i can't recall who did make it.
  9. 182 : number 10 is Kenny Carter, I think the number 9 is Jiri Stancl ?
  10. Just goes to show the vagaries of speedway. Fully half of those reserves are currently injured. Combined with the unavailability of Joonas, the field is pretty thin.
  11. Alas not, though i'm keeping the name alive with my fantasy league side.
  12. The guest rule is probably the one thing above all others that outsiders find bizarre about speedway. Restricting them has to be good. BUT. They really should have allowed a proper squad system to come into play. If the Elite League are using grading, then surely that makes squads much simpler to manage? 3 grade B riders on the books, and only 2 team berths for them. One misses out until another is dropped or injured. There are enough semi-committed riders out there to make it viable. Some would most likely welcome a less demanding schedule.
  13. I thought the that one of the major aims of the conference would be to try and make speedway less confusing for the casual armchair fan who might be tempted along to see the sport live. Then they come up with this ridiculous pile of tosh. I really cannot think of another sport that shoots itself in the foot so consistently.
  14. What a grim and depressing piece of news. :-(
  15. Surely the point of having a grand prix series over 9 rounds is to establish the best rider over the whole season. Pedersen didn't just win it last night. His consistency over the prior 8 rounds was a major factor. He's the Champion by right and should be acknowledged as such. As Crump and Rickardsson have already graciously done.
  16. Congrats to Nicki. A great champion for a great series. Commiserations to Crumpy and Trick, and well done to them for their dignity in defeat.
  17. I agree that a strict salary structure is the way to go. Yes, it is possible that a few of the GP boys may opt out, but most won't. They need the income of regular racing. It would also help to level the playing field for all teams. A competitive league is important for the overall future of the sport. Something needs to be done to ensure it. Promotion and relegation would be a great attention getter, and I'm sure Sky would love it. However, it can only work if the riders in BOTH divisions have the same rates of pay. As for the commodities issue. Well riders have been moved about against their will for many years to fit with averages limits. It's hardly new.
  18. Yeah, those last night of the season donkey races were hilarious! Fond memories.
  19. Definitely a dreadful advert for the sport. How much hard work has tonight's incompetence undone? :-(
  20. Hard to see how anyone could have done a better job in the circumstances. I sure hope he's still there next season.
  21. Congrats to Sweden. I doubt many of us saw THAT coming 8) I looked at the line up for Ht 24 and thought"ah well, good effort but no cigar" Then up pops Mr Ljung with the ride of his life. This is the same guy that scored 1 point in 4 meetings for Eastbourne? :-o What a hero!
