Glasgow V Newcastle Championship 8th April 2017
Chewbacca replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
First visit to Glasgow. What a cracking stadium to watch speedway. Good atmosphere, close to the track, excellent Scotch pies. Couldn't have asked for anything more other than a third Diamond to turn up. -
Great to hear that our nearest and dearest are looking upwards this season. Good luck for 2017, apart from when the Diamonds are in town, of course.

Decent team from a results point of view and I'm delighted that we have two of the most entertaining riders to watch in Lambert and Lindgren. To the Kus fans can I just say that Lindgren didn't cost us any chance of cup by falling off on the parade lap. Hope Kus gets fixed up elsewhere but he was not a rider I enjoyed watching. Major issue would be any loss of a top 5 rider early in a meeting and any extended use of r/r but you can't build a team around what might happen. Top 6

Swapping Wells for Kus would be a reliable gating tart over an unreliable gating tart. As I go to the speedway to be entertained, I'd like to keep Lindgren as he is one of the few riders around who can pull off an exciting outside pass at Brough Park.

Looking forward to seeing Brisger at this level. If he like Arena he should impress when you visit Brough Park -
Who Do People Want To Win The Play-offs?

The team with their own riders -
I would like to see Morris back at Newcastle. For the rest, I'm really not bothered and expect George and the management team to put together their usual competitive outfit.

Lambert is up there with Crump, Woffinden, Carter and Joe Owen as an 18 year old I have seen at Newcastle. Crump = multiple world champion Woffinden = multiple world champion Carter = should have been world champion Owen = who know's as his first big accident restricted him from 20 on. Had the potential though for sure I think Lambert could be at that level but will need to sharpen up his gating. You can't win too much from the back at the very highest level.

Newcastle V Rye House (plkoc) 09/10/2016
Chewbacca replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A bit of a gating competition. The track has been super slick for the last two meetings. First time I've seen Robert Lambert put 5 good gates together. As the best three teams I'd like to see Glasgow win the playoffs, Somerset the League Cup and Newcastle the KO Cup so all their fans get something to cheer. -
Rye House V Newcastle Koc Semi 1st Leg

Rather NBJ as a guest than Barker -
Don't know the facts but I wouldn't be surprised if Newcastle were an ambulance short tonight due to the Tall Ships race. Huge crowds up at Blyth all weekend. Rose looks like a collarbone to me. Bewley and Masters were very lucky. Bewley looks a talent but very nearly had the same accident in his previous heat.
