  1. Take out Morley and I don't think you'll be far away although I think Alfie is off to pastures new.
  2. Christ alive will Scunny ever learn! Another season of averaging 7 at home and 2 away then.
  3. Nothing formal announced for Plymouth as yet, strong rumours, but then if we went off all rumours our team would be 25 strong. Would absolutely take him though if it worked out. As for Morris, a good number one who is a consistent eater, be stunned if he maintains that average though.
  4. Not when I've seen him he doesn't. If he doesn't gate he has never done much from the back. Every time he went to Plymouth he'd given up before heat 1.
  5. Trigger will no doubt be a good rider, not ready for Championship yet though.
  6. Want him back at Plymouth as he goes well at home and was improving away. His starting average is also really good value. Would be a really strong reserve imo.
  7. Hearing murmurs that Alfie Bowtell is Wimborne Road bound...
  8. I think you can safely say that Barker, Worrall and Gilkes will be at Plymouth for a start.
  9. Looks a very top heavy side does that, if one of the top 3 has an off night they'll probably get beat at home. Be interesting to see what other teams do.
  10. Couldn't agree more. When they talk about cutting costs and then agree to have 3/4 meetings in a Mickey Mouse cup that no-one will bother watching. I'd sooner scrap the KO Cup and have the extra league meetings.
  11. Going to be interesting to see what clubs do with the lower points limit. I think a lot of teams will be considerably 'weaker' than last season. We'll see though, fully expect a lot of signings to be announced in the next couple of weeks.
  12. Morley on that average in the main body would be a poor signing. Starke a much better option if it fitted. With the averages now finalised I'd say Worrall, Barker, Gilkes and Bowtell are no-brainers for Plymouth.
  13. His average dropped considerably and for me he never really looked like he wanted to be there. As for Ben, I'm certain he'll be back
  14. If it was a choice between the two I'd definitely go Alfie (if 100% fit). Lower average and could start at reserve meaning he'd be a good points scorer home and away. Before Alfie got hurt his away from was improving massively. I'd take Starke as a 2nd stringer though if we can bring Gilkes back along with a decent heat leader trio.
  15. No way Hans is back nor would I want him back. I doubt Complin or Roynon come back but stranger things have happened. If rumours are to be believed Worrall, Barker and Gilkes appear to be on the radar for returns, not sure Alfie comes back but I really hope he is, especially on that average. As far as Barker goes, he's great value at Plymouth and is a decent enough rider away but as someone has said you're getting an entertaining rider but someone off the track who time after time lets people down. He is of course the promoters nephew so every chance he'll be back. I think Paul Starke on 4.93 could be a good shout as he goes well at Plymouth and I'd expect him to improve that average.
  16. Maybe, but then make it 12 home and 12 away whereby you face four teams twice and the other four, once. This regional cup, basically exactly the same as we had this season just at a different point in the season is crap and meaningless. Why not just make those fixtures extra league matches?
  17. Which frankly dilutes the playoffs further. The playoffs should be tough to get to and a big thing if you get there. This season if you avoid the bottom 3rd of the league you qualify!
  18. You've got to laugh at the KO cup draw. Plymouth v Poole again. As if that wasn't pre-agreed. This sport is an utter joke to be honest and I feel for supporters who genuinely care about their clubs. A reduction in the points limit, a reduction in home meaningful matches and the saviour being the aggregate bonus point. Seriously!!?? Year after year the useless powers at be avoid the key issues and they continue to dodge the elephant in the room that is; the sport is dying in this country and radical changes need to be made.
  19. Not convinced Trigger is ready for a full time Championship role however if Alfie is at reserve with him that would definitely help.
  20. Pretty certain you can close this thread as a no go. Plymouth lost money last year and with the increase in Championship fixtures I can't see there being any space in the calendar.
  21. Surely Pickering has to be the Brummies number one if he leaves the Monarchs. He's outrageously good at Perry Barr.
  22. Maybe we could get back on topic and discuss the Plymouth side for 2023...?
  23. Morley has had some good meetings at home no doubt, but his away form is awful and on that average it's a no brainer to avoid! Alfie is much a better rider overall and on a much better average too. Gilkes would be my first name on the team sheet if he's fit. He'd be a steal on that average. I've heard Richie Worrall is bound for Plymouth and Barker, if not banned, is almost certain to be back. I'd have MPT back in heartbeat on his average and Alfie was coming along really nicely, especially away, before his injury. 1. R Worrall - 8.30 (assuming 2.5% reduction) 2. Barker - 7.80 (assuming 2.5% reduction) 3. MPT - 6.76 4. Gilkes - 4.55 (assuming 2.5% reduction) 5. Alfie - 4.29 (assuming 2.5% reduction) = 31.70 It would then depend on the points limit on the last two, if 38 is the limit it only leaves 6.3, hopefully they keep the limit at 42 or even 40 to allow a bit more room to move.
