  1. Ridiculousy low ban if true. In reality only a 5-6 month ban. Really hope WADA appeals although I think that is pretty unlikely.
  2. Järf have pulled out from the remaining GP-events and Daniel Henderson will take his place. https://www.facebook.com/Ikaros.Smederna/posts/793150600778430
  3. Smederna will meet Team USA jr at Smedstadion on Monday April 20th. http://www1.idrottonline.se/SmedernaSpeedwayforening-MotorcykelochSnoskoter/Nyheter/Nyhetsarkiv/TraningsmatchmotUSAJR/ https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=792091867550970&id=225344277559068&refid=17
  4. weatherwatcher, I agree with your comments about Middlo and Ford. However FIM cannot give him a two year ban from the start of this season since the max length of suspensions, at time of offence, was two years. Suspending him two years from the start of the season would mean a suspension of 2,5 years.
  5. You are wrong. It says: Again he isn't very specific and is speaking in general terms. Nothing about the case is revealed. All he says is that as soon as the decision is taken it will be announced. Quite logical, don't you agree? I'd say that as a lawyer who is part of FIM-diciplinary committee he knows very well what he is allowed to say and not allowed to say.
  6. So he shouldn't be allowed to explain how it works? All this time there have been complaints that there haven't been any transparency and now when someone actually makes a general explanation to why things sometimes take a long time, that isn't good either? I don't see anything wrong with his interview, he doesn't reveal or comment anything specific about the case. The only thing he comments on is that it unfortunate that Darcy hadn't been informed but as BWitcher says, Darcy and his team is very likely to know this but are just pretending that they haven't been informed.
  7. Still no news regarding the host of round 3?
  8. One of the FIM-lawyers who were part of the disciplinary committee at Darcy's hearing have made an interview with a Swedish news paper. Obviously he doesn't say anything specific about this case and most of what he says he things that we already knew. Things such as that it takes over two weeks from the hearing until the decision is made, isn't something ununsual but rather common since it is very important to get the verdict phrased in such a way that it is clear why the committee decided to rule in the way that they did and etc. His reply to th question regarding why the hearing wasn't held until 5 months after the offence, he says that he can't judge why it took 5 months but that it could be due many different things such as different arguments from the involved, previous investigation and etc, No decision have been taken yet but as soon as a decision is taken it will be announced. He then says that (like we already knew) that cases are not delayed for the sake of the delay itself. That it might seem like it is just to make the decision straight away but these cases that have to penetrated and analysed in a proper way so that the FIM can make a legitimate decision. He also says that its unfortunate that the involved parties and in this case mainly the rider, have not been made clear on how things work. http://mvt.se/sport/speedway/datum-om-wards-besked-oklart-10727231.aspx So like I wrote above, most things seems to be pretty obvious and much of it are stuff we already knew/suspected. It also seems that for some reason Darcy haven't been informed properly for some reason and as we have suspected, the delayed are likely due to claims/arguments by Darcy's camp while they pretend it is FIM who are delaying it without a reason.
  9. As several have said before, it is very unlikely that they can give him a four year ban since his offence happened when the maximum ban length according to rules were 2 years.
  10. No it wouldn't. Darcy is a very skilled riders but as I wrote, there are plenty of other riders who also are very skilled and very exciting to watch, so I doubt the sport itself would be affected. ----- Imo give him a 16 month ban from time of offence + no wild card for 2016 and 2017 GP-series. If he wants in for 2017, he'll should have to qualify on his own rather being handed a place on a silver plate,
  11. I don't know, but I assume that it applies to all forbidden substances in general. However the rules changed at January 1st so all offences committed before that would most likely not be affected by the new rules.
  12. That would be his loss not ours, there are plenty of other riders to watch. Like Tai, Emil, Vaculik, Prezedpelski, Janowski, MJJ, Pawlicki brothers, Jason Doyle, Chris Holder, Kim Nilsson,Oliver Berntzon... So if Darcy gets a 2 year ban and decides to quit, speedway will manage just fine anyway.
  13. I am not sure, but I think that FIM will obviously inform Darcy directly and also issue a press release.
  14. Who says they do? They just says that they have the right use the time frame specified in the rules. You like Darcy's fans seems to forget that the rules are written from a general perspective, there might be cases where this time span is needed to make sure the proper ruling is given and/or that unforeseen events such as temporarily illness or similar does not prevent the involved decision makers from issuing a ruling, Simply put if the rules have a too short time frame (lets say two weeks) someone getting the flu might cause the ruling to get postponed. Then the likes of you and Darcy's fans would complain anyway. You just have to realize that the writings such as the "within 45 days" are there for a reason (and it have nothing to do with laziness or etc). As for rulings in courts, it is not uncommon for Swedish courts (at least for Hovrätterna and Högsta domstolen) to give the judge's/s' verdict at a later date and not at the end of the trial.
  15. The tv-expert and former team manager Morgan Andersson have been appointed as the new National team manager. He will handle the picks and coaching in SWC and SBP, nominating riders for SGP and SEC qualification/wild cards and etc. He have formerly been team manage for Västervik, Smederna and Dackarna and have also for many years worked as one of the two experts in Canal+'s and Cmore's Elitserien broadcasts. http://www.svemo.se/sv/Grenar/Speedway/Nyheter/NyForbundskaptenispeedway/ http://www1.idrottonline.se/SmedernaSpeedwayforening-MotorcykelochSnoskoter/Nyheter/Nyhetsarkiv/MorganAnderssonnyforbundskapten/
  16. I should say though that I haven't seen that many comments form different people , it have mostly been the same people using the same excuses as this forum's Darcy fans.
  17. Stefan said something like that he wouldn't tolerate any wrong doing by Darcy but as you know, Darcy was allowed to race in the meeting at home against Dackarna just two days after his failed the breath test in Daugavpils. Then as you say the have also contracted him for the upcoming season. So in the end Stefan's statement was just empty words.
  18. Some people definitely have the same opinions as the Poole fans. Not all of them are Piraterna fans though. Darcy's Swedish team manager (Stefan Andersson Skill, (the former speedway rider)) have also expressed some concern/complaint about FIM however those comments have been more toned down and definitely not as strong worded as NM/MF's comments.
  19. I can give you a few parallels: Even if you are a mega star, the FIM WILL give you a ban. Stewart is a multiple world champion but FIM still handed him a 16 month ban. Hearing took place more then 3 months after the offence took place. Both are first time offenders (when it comes to competition offences). Neither alcohol or amphetamine are performance enhancing substances according to the prohibited substances list and I guess you could designate both as recreational substances although amphetamine also could be used for medical reasons. So it is very obvious that Darcy should be given the same treatment.
  20. Actually I don't see what the problems is with testing all riders? BTCC have decided to introduce mandatory pre-race alcohol breath-tests for all drivers and officials so why can't speedway follow suite? http://uk.reuters.com/article/2014/05/28/uk-motor-racing-alcohol-idUKKBN0E80X320140528
  21. Legally the Polish restriction wouldn't hold up in court if challenged. No EU-country can put that kind of restrictions in place. Svemo tried to create this type of rule for a few years ago but they had to remove it because it was against EU-rule. It was replaced by a "gentlemen agreement" which have worked fine for a few seasons but now two teams have brought it foreign riders on Swedish licenses.
  22. That is a good questions, I don't know and I haven't seen anything more specific about it.
