  1. Elitserien fixtures: http://www.svemo.se/sv/Grenar/Speedway/Nyheter/ELITSERIENSPEEDWAY2014/
  2. A couple of more signings: Krzysztof Buczkowski, Jonas Engdahl and Rasmus Jensen have signed with Dackarna. Rasmus Jensen's contract is for two years and he will be sent on a loan to Griparna for 2014. Matej Zagar and Nicklas Porsing have signed with Piraterna.
  3. No offence Phil but I don't believe that for a second. Of course BSI is the ones behind it.
  4. I am also pretty sure that this will end up in the European court.
  5. Regarding Friends Arena I don't think that there would be any problems with using it at a later date.
  6. I disagree with this. Laguta, MJJ, Dudek are definitely not one hit wonders unlike Harris. Just because you only have seen them in occasional international meetings doesn't mean that we have as well. I've been advocating for Laguta to be given a wild card for several years since he have been a solid scorer in the leagues for many years. I don't know why he haven't entered the qualifiers for 2014, possible he knew that he wouldn't get a visa for the Grand Prix Challenge (GPC). He have entered the qualifiers in some previous years but at least for one of these years he had to pull out due to injury. Patryk Dudek, Michael Jepsen Jensen and Maciej Janowski are just like Darcy Ward, World U21 champions. They should have an equally big or possible even bigger cause to be included compared to Darcy and Tai. Laguta, Dudek and MJJ have also been riding very well in the leagues (at least Poland and Sweden), Also your statement that Harris beat many of them in the GPC, isn't that a bit contradictory to your claim that we shouldn't base are opions on performances in single international meetings, but you just did with Harris when you said that he did well in the GPC.
  7. How quickly you Brits forget all the years the rest of the speedway world had to watch Harris and Nicholls getting a wild card year after year. So you shouldn't really say anything.
  8. I disagree with this since there is no point then in having 8 qualifiers and 4 wild cards. If they always gives two wild cards to nr 9 and 10 then why not just have top 10+Freddie Lindgren automatically qualified and one wild card? because that is how the system currently works. Tony Olsson have also confirmed that Laguta was never asked. Gollob used to be a top rider but as you say this year he looked quite uninterested for many GPs. So why wast a wild card on someone who can't be bothererd to "show up" for half of the rounds?
  9. Its not really that hard is it? You claim that Gollob missed out on top 8 due to his injury but failed to acknowledge that other riders have been injured as well. It's easy to say that if Gollob wouldn't have been injured he would have been top 8. That is not correct though since you can say the same about Chris Holder.. Had Holder been injury free all season he would have been top 8 and Gollob would still have been outside top 8. Simply it proves that Gollob missed out on top 8 because he wasn't good enough and not because he was injured.
  10. Gollob was injured for two GPs, how many GPs did Holder and Ward miss?
  11. I think both are tied at 5 each know. Lindgren and Harris also have one top 8 each but Lindgren also have qualified via GP challenge once.
  12. Isabelle Larivière was asked by speedwaynyheter.se about whether a rider should be allowed to ride in both SEC and SGP. Her personal opinion is that a rider should be allowed to do both. A formal decision will be taken in a few weeks time. http://www.speedwayn...aval-vm-som-em/
  13. Agreed but perhaps Laguta turned it down? However this is Lindgren's 5th wild card that is really poor by BSI,
  14. Bysarna started the construction of a new 80cc track in Hejdeby two years ago nut I don't know if the tracks is completely finished yet. I am also not sure if and when the 500cc track will be built. From what I've read, Bysarna could not afford to build the 500cc as well so they started with the 80cc track with the ambition of perhaps building the 500cc track later on. I don't know but perhaps in a couple of years they will manage to build the large track as well.
  15. They also writes that Bydgoszcz GP might be moved to Gdansk or Berlin.
  16. According to http://speedwayracing.se.preview.binero.se/news.php/2013/10/14/nermark-och-jonasson-ute-ur-gp.html Jonsson, Holder and Gollob have been decided to wild cards, last wild card is between Laguta and LIndgren. I'd take Laguta over Lindgren any day of the week.
  17. A new speedway clubs have been started in Karlstad. It is called Karlstad-Hammarö Speedwayklubb. http://speedway054.se There already exist two clubs in Karlstad, Solkatterna and Svensk Folkspeedway Karlstad. The latter is a kind of a rogue* team and since several of its board members also are board members for Solkatterna they have made Solkatterna gone rogue as well which have resulted This have resulted in that several Solkatterna members left the club due to the way Solkatterna was run and due to the actions of some Solkatternas board members where they tried to prevent Svemo licensed riders from practising on the track by trying to prevent Svemo officials from doing a formal check up ("besiktning") of the track (which is required before it can be used by Svemo licensed riders/clubs). The thing is though that the track is owned by the City of Karlstad (Karlstad Municipality) and Solkatterna/Folkspeedway are just tenants and as such they have of course no right to do what they did. However Karlstad municipality officials have acknowledge this problem and will make sure that the track is checked and approved by Svemo so that riders and teams connected to Svemo can use the track as well. *a team that have decided to organize themselves with the newly form "rogue federation" Svenska motorsportalliansen instead of being organized under Svemo. They have a different idea about speedway. Their idea is that it should be easily accessible to all which according to them means: no airfences, all kinds of speedway bikes should be allowed to be uses regardless of their condition, no licenses and etc which means that anyone can show up with any kind of speedway bike and race. But there is no guarantees that the riders participating is actually capable of riding a speedway bike. ----- Smederna made an announcement today regarding Szymon Wozniak, that Smederna will lend him to an Allsvenskan clubs for 2014.
  18. I do know what you mean and It would be so, But it would also be the first time he have needed it unlike Fredrik Lindgren who have only managed to be top 8 once and in addition to that he only managed/bothered to go through the qualifiers once, Jonsson is a bit more up and down while Freddie is quite consistent in finishing around position 9,10,11 both in the overall standings and in the individual GPs.
  19. You could say the same about Gollob and if I remember it correctly Jonsson was 2nd overall in 2011. He have also managed to stay within top 8 on his own most of the times. IIRC he have only needed two wild cards before and never two years in a row. unlike the token Brit Harris (and Nicholls to some extent) so you really shouldn't say anything.
  20. It would be even better if he could return to the Latvian license which would mean that he wouldn't need a visa except for NZ.
  21. Västervik confirmed as one of the two semi final venues. http://mobil.vt.se/D...7005335&p=Sport I do wonder what happened? I thought Eskilstuna (again) were supposed to host one round? At least there were talks between BSI and Smederna regarding SWC.
