What I'm getting at Bryn is the SCB rule that has affected updates for those supporters who can't attend every week, not whether the person who did a really good job for quite some time was there or not as he hasn't been able to do updates since the start of the season unfortunately. I thought the sport needed to attract supporters not clam up and keep events secret, but there again maybe speedway does not need to attract new supporters or keep regulars happy who may be unable to attend due to shift work or health problems. Anyway I will leave you with those thoughts . . . . .

Can't find any, bit of a sad state when a texter can't be found. Thanks to that no phones or Internet rule from the SCB it means that Russ who was Mr Reliable can no longer keep us all informed, real shame.

There is no problem putting a track in thankfully. Planning would be submitted next year if the landowners go ahead.
-
It's their land after all to do with as they see fit, but onwards and upwards, the Wildcats WILL have a new home by 2013 if everything fits into place. There will be no news until next summer on the exact location due to the landowners who have only watched one live speedway meeting wanting to sample more live meetings before committing their land for our cause. Things from this perspective are very positive for a return to racing, we can only now sit and wait for their decision unless of course another landowner makes a good offer in the meantime.
-
Good luck Karl with your future.

Yes, I invited a landowner that I know to the recent Exeter v Wildcats fixture at Somerset. He had never seem 'live' speedway, just the Sky broadcasts. He was really impressed and before he makes a decision he wants to see a few more fixtures at different tracks. As for the old track and landlords I think we all know their views regarding speedway unfortunately, but you never know. When there is something concrete regarding a future track or a return to the old track you will be made aware but until then we will take as many challenge fixtures for the nomadic Wildcats next season as possible to help keep awareness in the media alive.

Please sign our online petition to help save the Wildcats The petition link can be found on the Wildcats website homepage Your support is much appreciated, the more signatures we can get the better chance that the National league could have an additional club if not in 2012 then in 2013. Thanks everyone

Islanders Release Smethills & Johnson

WARWICK RETURNS TO ISLANDERS By Isle of Wight Speedway ~ Saturday 2nd July 2011 Wightlink Islanders rider of the year last year who was sensationally left without a team at the start of the campaign this year has been snapped back up by the Island club and makes his first appearance this year at Smallbrook on Tuesday against Dudley Heathens (first race 7.30pm). Warwick said; "Being without a team place at the start of the year I was a bit upset, you don't let life get you down and just keep working hard. I've been working this year for Renat Gafurov who rides for Poole and I'll continue to mechanic for him as well as ride for the Islanders." "Last year I wasn't up to where I think I should be average wise, I'll be working hard to get back to where I was a couple of years ago before I left the Premier league. I was a bit shocked to get the call, I know the Islanders haven't been going too well and with a 40 point limit it was always going to be difficult to fit me back in, I'm pleased I'm back" concluded Warwick. After release Lee Smethills and Brendan Johnson who signed for Dudley this week co-promoter Chris Hunt said; "We have now re-declared our side, it's good to be able to fit Danny back into the side and welcome him back to the Island. We had no choice in making changes, it was a very hard decision to make but it had to be done now that new averages have been issued which allowed the changes to take place. Nobody wants' to drop anybody but we just have to get on with it, we all wish Lee and Brendan all the best for the future." Hunt added; "We have also secured the services of accomplished grasstrack rider Charlie Saunders on a 3 point average, he makes his debut for the Islanders on Tuesday at reserve." Teams for Tuesday from; ISLE OF WIGHT ISLANDERS: Paul Starke, Rob Smith, Danny Warwick, Nick Simmons, Luke Chessell, Charlie Saunders, Gary Cotham - Team managers: Chris Hunt & Kevin Shepherd DUDLEY HEATHENS: Jon Armstrong, Brendan Johnson, Tom Perry, Ashley Morris, Kyle Newman, Darryl Ritchings, Adam Portwood - Team manager: Will Pottinger REFEREE: Graham Reeve -
