I thought it was just me thinking this! I've been tempted several times this season to post something similar on here but have chosen not to. Wish I had now. It seems like there's more chiefs than Indians at Ashfield on a Sunday nowadays. Too many posers walking about like they're a somebody. The centre green is full of them at times!

It's the speedway Auld Firm. Could be two flies going up a wall. -

What's the point of a Glasgow / Edinburgh meeting? Is that a trick question? -

Anders just wary of airport burgers! -
Someone trying very hard to create an image .... Unsuccessfully. Smokescreen for something else?

Oh aye! Has the perfect image for promoting the sport. Let's have a look at his roll of honour .... ... on second thoughts best not to. They can't even be discussed on an internet forum. Never mind, I'm sure the Aussie bobbies found him articulate when he was wired to the moon. But his voice was really interesting when they read him his rights.

I've just found the promotions 'Red Alert' email in my Inbox. Until now, I didn't realise they were the ones claiming this puts the future of the sport in the city in jeopardy. This stinks to high heaven! If the future of a club depends on the investment made in a bar area, at a stadium in the Possil area of Glasgow, then WTF were they doing in the first place? Good God. Even the police dogs walk around Possil in pairs! Frankly I can't believe that stock and a TV (or was it TVs) is even left in this building overnight. Gobsmacked! Gobsmacked that it's taken until now for this to happen! Sorry Glasgow promotion but you've either been extremely naive or negligent. Either way, if Red Alert is to be believed, you've put the future of the club in jeopardy ... no one else!!

Ooops!

Something just hasn't been right about 'Glasgow speedway' for a number of weeks now. The lack of communication and plans for the remaining fixtures only serves to fuel the fires of the scaremongers. Having said that, the change from regular and fulsome communication to the current one is a concern. I'm wondering if there is a lack of interest on the promotions part as the season draws to a close. Or maybe it's damage limitation on the loss making front. Anyways, James deserves better!

Obviously this isn't good news but I doubt very much this in itself puts the future of Glasgow Speedway in doubt. If the worst came to the worst, the Glasgow fans would do a sponsored lock-in until the cost of a replacement was covered. Edinburgh unfortunately suffered vandalism twice in September, culprits ages ranged from 7 to 10.

Yes, but SKY didn't cover it that year.

Gp Viewing Figures.

Because SKY can also monitor through their own systems what is being watched. -
So we have a British World Champion after a long wait. In my mind the best man across the whole 2013 season rightfully won. If we'd had a one-off World Final its possible Tai wouldn't have won. I emphasise 'possible', because we just don't know. Withdrew from one meeting, suffered in another a serious injury that inhibited his performance. Under the old one-off system there's a strong possibility he may not have qualified for the final, and if he had he may not have won carrying an injury. Undoubtedly, one-off finals generate a different type and level of excitement, but do they give us the World Champion we deserve? I would say - no. Does Tai's win change anyone's mind either in favour or against one-off finals or GPs?

Tai Woffinden
george.m replied to David Haddock's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hearty Congratulations Tai! Once it's sunk in, I hope you enjoy the celebrations with your family, close ones and team to the full. And don't worry about saving British speedway, leave that for a more appropriate time and someone else to do. For the next few days and foreseeable future just enjoy being World Champion, you deserve and have earned that time to yourself to do so! -

Will It Be The Same With Woffy?

Reaction tonight suggests ... yes. -
Knows hee haw.

Agree with all of your comments except the one re Jacobs. I'm undecided on him because he didn't progress at Ashfield as I would have liked. Having said that, he's young and did well in the NL.

Well done Tai. Won the world championship through his own efforts. Could easily have coasted when Emil dropped out, but he's gone for it and good on him for doing so! -
Cook turns up for Edinburgh meetings.

Seen it a few times mate.

Hi Scotland 1314. Gordon Pairman in his last meeting programme notes says the club will be running and they have an air fence fund. The biggest clue to the club running is what they're not saying. Normally they would have the begging bowl out when there's financial issues. This hasn't happened. Any riders you're thinking of specifically?

If he wins forget about settees, I hope he's on the bevvy!!! Good luck tonight Tai!
