  1. Thanks Fubar I haven't been there for a couple of seasons because of some Stoke disasters in previous years. Feel I should support the lads this year because of our limited meetings this season. Il see how I feel later in the week
  2. After reading this not sure whether to go next week Or watch the GP with a glass of wine
  3. Not sure with me Steve ,I started going to Monmore in 99 and after 10 years I nearly went to the dark side especially after Billy joined . In 2009 I went home and away and after a narrow defeat at Swindon I was really annoyed and realised I was almost a Wolves fan. I decided in 2010 I was going to convert but then out of the blue we came back and I was back to Wolves being the enemy. However let's be honest were never coming back in the true sense so Wolves mean more to me than any other team except the heathens of course. Strange but true
  4. Car full of heathens coming to this, not sure who we will be shouting for
  5. Going tonight on the bike as well, now we have only a few meetings I'm going to see if there's an inner wolf in me trying to get out like it did when I watched them for about 10 years before we came back. Hope I can live with myself ;-)
  6. Anyone got the know how to put the piece in the Telegraph on here
  7. Just spotted last weeks star in tesco with Ivan on the front cover so thought I'd treat myself, must say I'm impressed with the new look and will be getting a copy tomorrow of this weeks. May even start getting it again on a weekly basis. Well done to everyone at the star
  8. Got my blowin in the wind better not rain till after half 1 when I get back from work. 2.5 hours today. No idea how I cope
  9. I thought it was fantastic in there , to have a pint and a couple of sandwiches and talk about the meeting with all the photos etc on the walls . Brilliant. Dreamland for a Heathen I can tell you.
  10. R.I.P Ivan of all the top riders in the 70s for some reason he had a special aura about him, I still remember the disappointment in the 78 World Final when he came off. I was convinced I was going to see him become World Champ again. A special rider. I remember the story above
  11. Btw what is it with the mascot, he scared the hell out of me kept thinking I'd have nightmares about him when I went to bed. Lol. Not sure what youngsters must make of him. Very creepy
  12. Thoroughly enjoyed my first trip to Berwick and my first meeting of the season, what a cracking heat 1 to get the season started. Worth the admission money seeing bomber blasting round there. Will definitely get back there but it's a bit of a drive!!!! To say the least. Said to my brother in the black and gold it would be a dream to have this set up. Not sure if we should have helped our self to the sandwiches but they were very nice. Also saw Cribby was a bit of a hero in his time there, must admit couldn't remember him riding up there. Shocking memory these days. Overnight stay in Spittals then onto Newcastle which was a decent night as well
  13. First trip to Newcastle and was a bit shocked was expecting a bit of a dump the way some go on but i thought it seemed a decent set up. Track was a bit patchy to start but first meeting and dodgy weather so wasn't too bad. A few decent races, I'd be happy enough with it being our track
  14. Hope your right I'm not sure if the Cradley fans will turn out in big numbers because of so few meetings this year or maybe not bother because we have so few meetings!!!!! We will be there
  15. First time to Berwick so pesky rain better keep away, onto Newcastle tomorrow which looks a little risky. Fingers crossed I get to see my first two meetings of the season
  16. Managed to get one to take on holiday Wednesday, trying to resist the temptation in opening it up
  17. I only visited The Shay once and Exeter once but can't remember them being that similar . It was about 40 years ago though. I remember the banking at The Shay being really steep. I'm sure the Cradley coach broke down on the way back. Must of been about 76 I would have thought. Never got to Crayford
  18. Off topic a bit but I've just come across some racing on you tube where old cars are pulling old caravans around a track where the object of the race seemed to be to smash anything that gets in the way to bits. Strange thing was the stadium seemed to be packed
  19. With us only having a few meetings I will travel round a bit this year, I would go back to watching the Wolves every week like I did before we came back but £18 is not value for money. Strangely though for say £15 I would probably turn up every week. It's only £3 but seems a more realistic price to me
  20. Rain offs one thing but I've come down with man flu and away next week so it's looking like my first meeting is Berwick on the 14th
  21. Meant to get one to take on holiday next Wednesday but forgot, doh, il pop into Tesco after but they normally sell out of the special. Supposed to be at Somerset tomorrow and Belle Vue and Wolves Monday so fingers crossed
