Rightly or wrong the reason I didn't bother going to this and went out on my bike instead I also went to monmore on Monday to watch better racing, unfortuneately this wasn't a great meeting either I hate to knock speedway but I'm becoming very disillusioned by it at the minute but I still enjoy the top riders in the gps.can't see how British speedway can get the top riders back.some say support it or lose it.but if what your supporting isn't worth it then why bother?trouble is today there's plenty of other stuff to do

Hope so, I know some seem to enjoy 60+ scores but I didn't think much of the racing last night

I was only 13 at the time but Its stayed with me all this time.I'm sure it was big news in one of the daily papers.brings it home how dangerous our sport is R.I.P Tommy -
It's not so much bad meetings that bother me.I agree that happens in most sports but with speedway the bad meetings tend to be caused by incompetence!

I'm not suggesting that tracks are easy to prepare or not but surely that's not the issue here.we don't really know if the surface was good or not,it was to narrow.how will anyone learn from this for next year.it should have been spotted straight away.wouldn't it be nice for someone who was involved in the track prep explain why they thought the shape would be ok

Well that was a surprisingly good meeting.a couple of beers and a curry by myself in the man cave.got to be good

Cradley Heathens V Buxton Hitmen - National League (29/04/14)
bruno replied to Hunty's topic in National League Speedway
I applaud scunny and Buxton in there efforts but our objective to there's is on a different level.whose right? I have no idea but I know tomorrows meeting is not worth my money. Therefore I'm off work this week so I'm off up the beacon instead. I salute the fans who support the meeting regardless of opposition and entertainment but to me my money is hard earned so if a couple of pints is more meaningful to me than a processional speedway meeting then that's my choice. I'm not saying I'm right it's just my choice -
I used to enjoy the one right outside Dudley wood.it might still be there.enjoyed it because I could get a drink and I was only 15!

Scunthorpe V Cradley (national League) 13th April 2014
bruno replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
This isnt cradleys fault or scunnys fault but the way the nl is run.difficult to find an answer but neither promotions fault.I was looking forward to visiting Scunthorpe but it made no sense financially or competitively.not even sure il be at monmore wood for the return.answer? No idea -
Dudley heathens riding at Wolverhampton seems to work!! I reckon we are the exception rather than the rule tho

just been to my local and as no mates could make it I grabbed myself a copy of the mcn to pass away a couple of hours. inside was a piece on the bike show at the nec this coming week.it says Tai Woffinden is there tomorrow. Obviously promoting speedway. why don't we know about this? Is this why speedway isn't taken seriously? Comments anyone
