  1. I don't think the problem has anything to do with the incredible Trick - he would be miles ahead in any format - I'm talking more about the huge gap between the finalists and the rest of the field - I see your point about semi finalists possibly ending up scoring more than than the 4th placed rider in the final with my earlier mentioned solution (ahem) - i'm not sure what the answer is but this system imho is far more top heavy than last season which kind of defeats part of what they were trying to attain by changing the system
  2. i'm not sure you are following - you would need a set of variables to be able to align like this and surely they would involve the circuits themselves???????? imagine the scenario where he has engines computer aligned for circuits and conditions in mind (i.e. grip and slick engines aligned for cardiff/copenhagen bydgoszsc/prague etc etc) - I know nothing about tuning but formula 1 and Indy Cart ( ) have no problem incorporating the technology p.s. i never said any of it was sinister just that I think that a different approach is being effectively used
  3. Bringing back 5 rides for the whole field was a good move but if they persist with this system they have to bridge the gap between the semi finalist losers and finalists - perhaps an extra 3/4 points for the losers?
  4. I don't care what anyone says - there is something definitely afoot with Tony's engines. That is not to say that I think they are illegal as i'd like to think that 5 podiums finishes would mean that a discrepancy would be found by now. The true fact is though that he is suddenly head and shoulders above everyone else - in fact that is understating things - he is a street ahead and we should be asking ourselves how this has come to pass (and i'm sure all the riders are) - small track, big track, permanent, temporary it doesn't matter his engines are tuned to a kind of perfection that we haven't seen before and he is literally holding on to the bike for dear life at times. This kind of exactness imo hints at computer alignment............and I wonder who has the technology for that? 2 points for me with this GP are: why did Nicki feel confident with gate 2 in the semi final when it was the worst gate all night - had only only produced 5 points in the previous 8 heats - 1 point in the previous 4 heats and only 2 heat wins all night? and did anyone else notice Tony getting rid of his 'snus' just before his post final interview?
  5. such a shame for Ed and so unlucky that he doesn't have a place as of rights because of the wild card looks like it will be a good final though
  6. the Brits are going well - a 1-2 in ht 15 would be nice come on lads!
  7. get in there!! well done Daniel! not forgetting Tommy and Richard
  8. as far as the GP's or any other FIM Speedway event goes it appears that the ref has almost unlimited powers for this kind of thing....and by the same token (as I was trying to get across last season after the WTC final) the riders or representatives of the riders have a right to appeal over decisions (instead of a completely pointless phone call) click here and select Disciplinary and Arbitration Code p.s. full marks to the FIM for making their rulebook available to the fans who pay the money I have to agree with Heathen76 - the best example was provided - what was the difference between 'Erik, Hans and Tommy' and some of this generation of riders? Imho (trying hard not to think of things in a 'the good old days' way) the riders in those days learnt to 'sweep' not clatter - yes they did ride the man (as opposed to the track) probably more than these days but the bikes were slower and the respect higher As far as gamesmanship is concerned (and I think Hans is by far the most guilty rider for this after watching the tape last night) I think that modern day speedway has cleaned up compared to the days of 'Erik, Hans and Tommy' but it should still be dealt with
  9. great to see you guys too it was just a shame we didn't get more time .......might have to plan a summer trip to Poole to see Ed 'im above Michael Max in the GP's' Kennett (or is that Kenneth?) (btw I was very honoured to receive a prized fsp cap) FSP great to see you (next time you will have to stay) and needless to say I have already gorged myself on the fine chocolate - time to get your Hattrick team into shape!
  10. you are of course right - now that ive had a chance to view the tape I can see that Crumpy clearly hit a rut and gained a massive bit of drive - very unlucky and summed up his night I was also wrong about there not being much racing boss2 - I don't know what I was doing in Cardiff but I reckon my priority must have been the Guinness
  11. yeah look forward to it (p.s. I was at the Welsh Open so I cant talk )
  12. yeah yeah i'll believe you - thousands wouldn't
  13. im not sure it would take a genius to work out who you are talking about leg trailer
  14. that isn't possible if they came from Arena but I remember seeing you and your mates by the bars and later on the big screen
  15. as henry said on the side of the wrist - but unfortunately breaking it comes with a high price it is one of the slowest healing bones in the body - usually 12 weeks +
  16. the behaviour of gates 3 and 4 were very interesting in the 2nd half of the meeting - who was responsible for the grading instructions - would it have been our friend Mr Olsen?
  17. I think Robolots hit the nail on the head - keep the GB GP at Cardiff and if long standing bad relations between speedway and Webley can be repaired hold another GP there - Sweden and Poland should not be the only countries to hold 2 gp's
  18. the trouble is though Dekker (my new friend ) that the refs get it wrong so often (and are intimidated into making decisions) that they simply cannot be relied upon to enforce the laws 100% - I think I agree to at least a trial run of something akin to football's video panel as there is no doubt that the same names keep cropping up
  19. nothing explains the wall of death move - especially machinery - it was a stunning piece of bravery something is going on with his bikes Coma - he is finding MUCH more power than the rest of the field on all sized tracks and is making some very good riders look extremely ordinary - I doubt very much that it is solely down to 'a great frame and engine combination'
  20. yes I do - i'm sure Crumpy was wound up by events anyway but he usually has very good spacial awareness and has worked on his temper...I remember him 'cutting the corner' but I will be watching the tape very carefully for this 'rut' Jason had a chance to qualify? I don't think so and he knew it....although if my thinking is anywhere near the truth i'm suprised that he was willing to risk a point or two (although he was going to come out of the second bend last if he had taken the corner properly) - out of all the riders on 'the good side' Jason has been the only one to take the mantle of occasionally putting Nicki in his place and I think his intention was to do this again boss2 you need to get yourself to a few decent league matches if you thought that the racing was good - yes the atmosphere, spirit, noise, spectacle and on track incidents were at a high level but racing?
  21. too true Vince I haven't seen the gp on tape yet but ive already found out that what we saw was not caught on camera and that was crumpy getting up and staring long and hard at the floored Nicki before walking off - he meant that one and it was all for nicki I got the feeling that Antonio was just in the way poor showing from crumpy as it was by Nicki in other races but....... I blame some of it on the track - unfortunately Cardiff returned to processional racing placing greater imortance on the 1st and 2nd bends - making riders force the issue and clatter
  22. I agree with Ms Trees I managed it you guys have got to drag yourselves into the 21st century - we are supposed to know how the technological things work (or at least pretend to!)
  23. has this ref had one good gp yet? the effect he had was a shame but I can't help feeling that the result would have been the same can't help feeling that Trick has lost a bit of respect after Saturday night though highlights for me were meeting up with so many forum members after thinking I wouldn't be able to and once again being involved in the spirit of the greatest event on the calendar even if the racing isn't lowlight was missing out on meeting so many more forum members - am really going to have to try hard to drop the family one year
