  1. I see where you are coming from SCB but in my book Phil fails in the 'he is young and will benefit from the experience' and the whole welsh thing that you are talking about does not work because this is a BRITISH federation - maybe when Wales produces a rider anywhere near the standard required for even a reserve he will get the nod over all of the others but until then I can't see it even if Ed isn't the standard we are certainly looking for him to be in seasons to come and that is more to the point p.s. if Ed was to gate first I think he could make life difficult but the chances are that he would be caught cold and be overwhelmed but would we expect anything else?
  2. ok first of all it it the British GP so im sure we can come up with better offerings than Jamie - how will it be of benefit for Phil to have a reserve slot? and will Ed be spat out of the back any more than Michael Max or Peter Nahlin were? In Ed's favour is the fact that it is a small tight track which requires lightening gating but all of that is irrelevant anyway because they probably wont get a ride - what is relevant though is that they get to take their place in the pits and see what it is all about - just how many people Jason and Tony have in the crew - the standard of the machinery and the size of the motorhomes
  3. someone get me a photo of this very rare moment please
  4. and you are Danish? on the AJ front it was no suprise to me that he started swearing as he has been the worst offender for this in the past with Hans - and did Sky not get what they wanted?? and as for those who are saying Nicki/Bjarne was a racing incident - im glad you aren't refs - he smacked him so hard he almost highsided! one thing is for sure though - the new format doesn't seem to be hurting too much although Leigh, Antonio and Jason have all benefited from scoring 'final' points when perhaps their qualifying points didn't reflect them
  5. first of all....just to get it out of the way so I dont go on about it.....and i'm sorry about this....but.......watch out Nicki and Hans are about!!! Right from the off they were going for the man and not the track! Hans dangerously changed his line down the backstraight in ht7 to stuff Rico - ht10 Nicki went for Leigh - ht20 Nicki puts a dodgy move on Jason but has his bluff called -2nd semi final Adams the victim again as Hans rides at him - Nicki wipes out Bjarne in the final (wasn't even close to being subtle and anyone think it was tactics as it was 3rd bend lap 3??!) Entertaining TV it is but sensible and sportsmanlike riding it aint - this season is going to be interesting! for the boring Nicholls knockers out there he was mighty close for someone who was gating badly - I reckon if viewed again there wont be many who made more passes (not sure he would have scored any in his first though as gate 3 was a dog) p.s. he's in the top 8 I was a bit suprised at the 2nd picks in the semis and final going for yellow (even though they paid off in the semis) as the stats up to that point were: gate 1 9 heat wins and 49 points gate 2 6 heat wins and 31 points gate 3 1 heat win and 10 points gate 4 4 heat wins and 36 points which also shows how good Crumpy's win proved to be the 4 riders with two gate 3's were: Lee Richardson Tomasz Gollob Tomasz Chrzanowski Kenneth Bjerre full power to Kenneth for making the semi
  6. Does it not have more to do with Kenneth being the next qualifier in line?
  7. Here Really pleased for David - Feel he was unlucky to miss out on being in the thing from the start It is a shame Loramski will miss out though
  8. Thanks Peter - i'll be ok but if I have to be anywhere without Sky ill be signing up straight away (if the free one stops being free!) what was the quality like Mr FSP?
  9. unfortunately and annoyingly mimicking Murray Walker - although the advert does its job as it is also annoyingly memorable
  10. Opret dig som bruger ! Det koster kun 150 kr. om året at være med i dk4-klubben, og for de penge får du også: > Fri adgang til TV arkivet > Mulighed for at se dk4 Direkte TV overalt i verden > Gode tilbud om rejser med dk4, til spændende rejsemål > Nyhedsbrev > Opskrifter fra den skaldede kok so £13.50 but for how long the membership is I have no idea - anyone speak Danish?
  11. The days of the NL will forever be etched into my memory - a time of uprights, rounds and rounds of qualifying for British and World Championships, the NLRC at Wimbledon THE event of the year (Peterborough and Coventry never did it for me) - teamriding - faceguards - and riders with characters instead of flash helmets I would give anything to be able to turn the clock back and do what you did Steve - being part of a club setup and experience racing that hard and close must be immense
  12. They are languishing in the Conference League waiting for the bottleneck in the PL to clear - it is a viscious circle - make life difficult for them and stop them from riding against better opposition and they don't progress. The problem is actually one of contract ownership and until this is addressed the Brits will lose out to an overseas equal who hasn't ridden here before. The quality that is emerging from Oz is excellent and many people over there need to have a pat on the back quite obviously - this doesn't change much - things just go back to how they were a couple of years ago - the BSPA will still make life easy for our commonwealth friends as the sport has done since it began and perhaps more importantly Australian Speedway has a chance to establish itself while not every Tom Dick and Harry desert the sport there for GB.
  13. hey TST - long time no see I would be honoured to attend the birthday bash of the year - I am still working out what I can and can't make GP wise this year but will of course announce my intentions in good course - perhaps we could educate Pugwash in the ways of getting blind drunk (as if he needs the education!)
  14. Hey FSP sorry ive only just seen this - let me know what your plans are it would be good to meet up + there may be a room at Castle Splatty P.S. Must have been after those jagermeisters if I was praising the track at Rye
  15. I think the quote is a bit out of context there Kevin - I meant the way it was top heavily structured
  16. Hola Papa I think the tradition for a meeting reserve being one that is a much lower standard probably stems from their nominal fee and their local location - lets hope the £2000 attracts the guys it should be - I know i'd turn up for £2k! I'd be suprised if any reserves managed to get enough rides in a meeting to qualify - let alone be good enough - but it would be an interesting situation indeed if it happened - would probably swallow up a wild card spot for the next GP though The more I think about it the more sad it is that Loramski is out - this series is looking geared up for guys like him and Tomasz The BSI guys have done well in changing the prize money - it was the guys at the bottom suffering - the top 8 I should imagine will hardly notice the change on top of their sponsorship
  17. no system that disregards the might that is Bo Brhel can be a good one I wasn't aware that prize money was a problem - I thought that availability of the riders for league racing was more of an inconvenience
  18. I can't believe i'm doing this but........in Ole's defence we have started to see some great racing on the temporary tracks this season My biggest wish is that the tracks can be prepared fairly - no tricking riders between practice and racenight - none of the nonsense such as Danish riders being privvy to the conditions - or in the case of Bydgoszcz the Danes and the Poles - and what was that all about?! Bydgoszcz is perhaps the greatest racers circuit and they took all the dirt off!
  19. where could you be talking about?! nah that one last night at least had some depth for the tyres to grip on to - but I wouldn't have thought sand was the best idea
  20. I'd like to know what is wrong with the current format - if it aint broke why fix it?
  21. the surface looked like Colwyn Bay beach. The track is narrow enough without laying such rubbish on it
