Leszno Gp 30th April 2011
ladyluck replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It liven up after a fairly dreary start, but hardly the best GP debut for Laguta Jnr, while the erractic princling only avoided the ignomy of an Olympic set thanks to the presence of the aforementioned Laguta Jnr. -

Both decisions correct, so far. Poor riding from Gollob. Dreary meeting. -
Polish Extraleague Rnd 4 Sunday 1st May

Amid fears that the newly renovated "Sector K" stand on the first turn in Zielona Gora will collapse due to the vibrations of those wacky Falubaz fans standing in it, including, apparently, the son of Falubaz's president Robert Dowhan, doing the "Labado", the club has decided to close the stand for Sunday's fixture against Czestochowa: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/29/trybuna-k-w-zielonej-gorze-zamknieta/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1G1TSEA_ENUK335%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.co.uk&usg=ALkJrhi44_KhKtL5xwV_boRBsbNQ3Xd7yQ Seldom a dull moment in the Falubaz-besotted town of Zielona Gora. Meanwhile, moving ahead a week, the "House Full" signs are already going up in Gorzow for the eagerly awaited derby clash between Stal and Falubaz on 8 May 2011. Tickets for the home support were snapped up within two days of going on sale and tickets for Falubaz fans are released for sale on Monday and are likely to sell out even quicker: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/29/bilety-na-derby-w-gorzowie-wyprzedane/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1G1TSEA_ENUK335%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.co.uk&usg=ALkJrhi4jD1aCKrnM-G3yQIYLw7O9Ci2SA I'm guessing Stal versus Falubaz will be televised. Should be an amazing atmosphere. -
Sparta Wroclaw become the second Ekstraliga team to be investigated by the authorities over their track preparation: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/28/wszczeto-postepowanie-przeciwko-klubowi-z-wroclawia/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1G1TSEA_ENUK335%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.co.uk&usg=ALkJrhjg6b2V2DLgYiA0Wnf4SB2Qb9w5PQ

Just remember to run like hell when you forget where you are and cheer a Laguta overtake. -

Back to the wacky world of Zielona Gora, where it seems that the stand on the first turn may be "out of bounds" to spectators for safety reasons. The stand, it seems, is not standing up too well to the traditional pogo dancing (apparently called the Labado) of the Falubaz faithful: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/28/dyrektor-mosir-trzeba-podjac-jakies-kroki-co-zrobic-z-meczem/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1G1TSEA_ENUK335%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.co.uk&usg=ALkJrhinoNMNyhDTTkeVQGR4qyHyfps98Q What's the Labado look like? It looks like this: -
Must have a good nervous system if he can cope with watching updates as a stepfather on a Kozza meeting. Mind you, he's calmed down a bit and is a funhog.

The on-going situation with regard to Jesper B Monberg and Rybnik (he says he's owed money, they say he hasn't met the obligations of the contract and is not due monies, or at least I think that is the situation) seems to have evolved to include Daniel Nermark. Nermark has been cited as an example of a riding being left waiting for monies by Polish clubs, but not so, according to the rider himself, who has been moved to issue a statement: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/27/oswiadczenie-daniela-nermarka/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1G1TSEA_ENUK335%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.co.uk&usg=ALkJrhi-352G_JwQjIfYjjZQkivP372D7w So, Nermark, at least, is being paid.

Polish Extraleague Rnd 4 Sunday 1st May

Although not televised, for me the most interesting meeting in this round is Tarnow versus Gorzow. Gorzow got their season on track when they hammered Unia Leszno last Sunday, but troubled times for win-less Tarnow, who have now banned Krzysztof Kasprzak from riding in the UK. Elsewhere, early team news for the Torun versus Leszno clash suggests a curious opening pairing for champions Leszno: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/27/awizowane-sklady-na-mecz-unibax-unia/ While Zielona Gora's dispute with the local authority seems to have resulted in the mayor being the subject of an abusive message daubed on a municipal building by one of the Falubaz faithful: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/27/akt-wandalizmu-w-zielonej-gorze/ The mayor, Janusz Kubicki, describes it as an act of cowardice and suggests the individual responsible gives him the message in person, which, given the known reputation of some Zielona Gora fans might not be the most sensible idea ever to pop into his head. -
Here is the line-up: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/27/lista-startowa-rk-ime-w-stralsund/

Swedish updates used to be found at: http://www.speedway.nu Anyway, lots of jolly helpful Swedish chaps around here, so maybe if you could be more specific regarding the meeting they'd be able to help a bit more.

I have several books on Poland. Anyway, here's video footage of the controversial crash in Ht 14 of the Rzeszow versus Torun meeting: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/26/zobacz-wypadek-holty-i-miedzinskiego-wideo/ Brings back memories of Hancock cartwheeling down the Marketa track several years ago, but one suspects Chris Harris (riding in red) will get a more sympathetic hearing than was afforded Mr Pedersen.

Obviously doesn't read his own posts. Very wise. Results: Rzeszow 44 : 46 Torun Czestochowa 51 : 38 Tarnow Wroclaw 34 : 55 Zielona Gora Gorzow 57 : 33 Leszno No real issues in the two televised meetings, but it seems that both the non-televised meetings had "track" issues, while the victors in Rzeszow, Unibax Torun, seem far from happy with the referee. Torun, it seems, resisted signing off the referee's report on the meeting, apparently furious at a decision to exclude Holta from Ht 14. They did eventually sign, but are going to write to the Ekstraliga authorities tomorrow. Regarding track issues, the chairman of Torun has declared that the new silencer may not be as dangerous as some of the tracks being prepared in Poland.
