  1. PePe thinks the Czestochowa track is the best in Europe: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1G1TSEA_ENUK335%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.co.uk&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/18/piotr-protasiewicz-ten-tor-jest-najlepszy-w-europie/&usg=ALkJrhj9VCG8zx512qV9WaNbaGyUgZ4AAw
  2. And this is what awaits Mr Leckie in the Green Mountain town:
  3. Unfortunately, we are where we are. There really never was any prospect of the FIM selling the rights to a consortium of governing bodies and the prospects for such a consortium coming into being would be remote. For a start, the Polish authorities seem to stand aloof, although they seem to have been the only ones to try and stifle BSI's "golden goose". Where the BSPA missed the boat is the British Grand Prix, but no one, it seems, had the vision or the nerve to take a chance in the way that BSI did with Cardiff.
  4. The Polish nominees for the qualifiers have been announced by the GKSZ: Donau Neustadt (15-05-11): Maciej Janowski, Patryk Dudek. Chervonograd (15-05-11): Dawid Lampart, Bartosz Zmarzlik, Szymon Wozniak. Gorican (21-05-11): Przemyslaw Pawlicki, Emil Pulczynski. In addition, the GKSZ have nominated Kacper Gomolski direct to the semi-final hosted by Gniezno (25-06-11).
  5. The Polish nominees have been announced by the GKSZ: Krsko (07-05-11): Piotr Protasiewicz, Adrian Miedzinski. Abensberg (13-06-11): Damian Balinski. Esbjerg (17-06-11): Rafal Dobrucki, Grzegorz Walasek. Divisov (18-06-11): Przemyslaw Pawlicki, Maciej Janowski. Terenzano (18-06-11): Sebastian Ulamek, Krzysztof Kasprzak.
  6. Some good racing today, but the meeting was awfully one-sided. After winning many plaudits, although no league points, for their escapades in the first two meetings of their season, the Lions whimpered rather than roared this afternoon. The Green Mountaineers were just so superior out of the traps. Czestochowa just had no answer to them, although Laguta (Waguta) Snr's sorry succession of stoppages didn't help matters. An exciting rider, to be sure, but it's no good passing everyone only to grind to a halt a lap later.
  7. According to those updates it looks like Stichauer changed his mind, or had it changed for him. Edit: Then again, perhaps not. Final result: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1G1TSEA_ENUK335%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/17/rk-dps-w-lonigo-zwyciestwo-czechow/&usg=ALkJrhgCPhPCsAhWAEIXV1EEOAhxETBJuQ So, the Czechs head to King's Lynn.
  8. Great stuff between PK and Davidsson, but four out of four for Laguta Snr in the stoggage stakes. It's a bit pathetic now.
  9. Brave first couple of turns from PePe and he was off - flirted with the safety fence a couple of times, but still unbeaten and it's all rather too easy for Falubaz now.
  10. Very poor from Laguta Snr. He should really try and get his machine to last a race. Three tries and three engine stoppages. It ceases being luck and becomes a matter of professionalism.
  11. What a guy PK is, but Miss Blue is clearly putting off "her" rider.
  12. Czestochowa being given a lesson in gating at the minute.
  13. You see, the Polish commentator pronounces it Waguta. That will mean nothing, unless you've read the "GP Challenge Final" thread from last season. There was a bit of a debate as to whether it was Laguta or Waguta. The Poles certainly seem to transliterate it as Łaguta, which would be Waguta in English.
  14. As a warm-up, here's a little action from Ukraine yesterday, where Cascade Rovno defeated Wanda Krakow 47-43: http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/16/zobacz-pietnasty-bieg-meczu-w-rownem-wideo/ The rider finishing second is Polish veteran Piotr Swist (riding for Rovno), who it seems was riding with a broken collarbone in the race after an earlier incident. The race winner is one of His Holiness' brothers, Tomasz.
  15. That was at Reading, surely? You know, the place where he actually had to cough over the going rate to riders.
  16. And the investigation is over already and the result appears to be a 5,000 zloty fine for Unia Leszno: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1G1TSEA_ENUK335%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/04/16/unia-ukarana-za-stan-toru-podczas-meczu-z-pge-marma/&usg=ALkJrhiGZJgndsj2Q08bDH3kS9-70-tQRQ Once again mightily impressive stuff from the Polish authorities.
  17. I can answer my own question. Just a lack of professionalism from Larsen, who is expected to arrive at the stadium shortly, although not in time for his third ride, by the look of it.
  18. Why no Kenni Larsen for Wanda Krakow today? He's missed his first two rides so far.
