Polish Extraleague Rnd 6 Sunday 22nd May
ladyluck replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Still a bit of confusion surrounding the infamous "Tribune K" part of the stadium for this meeting. It was hoped that the club would receive clearance to use "Tribune K", but so far nothing. If the stand is not opened, then the club will not be allocating tickets to Leszno in order to maximise availability to the Falubaz faithful. -
Those funhog types in Zielona Gora are going for a trip to Rzeszow on 29 May 2011, but not for them the rigours of a coach trip, as the Falubaz supporters' club "Only Falubaz" charters a Boeing 737 from LOT: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1R2SUNC_enGB359%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/05/18/samolotem-z-babimostu-na-mecz-pge-marma-stelmet-falubaz/&usg=ALkJrhjxlWk4Kpxwl2IK5HOeVHUbHoN4uQ So popular was this initiative that tickets were snapped up within four hours of the offer: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1R2SUNC_enGB359%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/05/19/nie-ma-juz-miejsc-na-lot-kibicow-falubazu-do-rzeszowa-bedzie/&usg=ALkJrhjdokPoUAGhbbCzGYauQeFwcAyZHQ No problem, charter another plane: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1R2SUNC_enGB359%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/05/19/nie-bedzie-drugiego-samolotu-dla-kibicow-falubazu/&usg=ALkJrhjZ36Eo_427oc5StFUs7C17LCZGaA

I recall reading a comment on sportowefakty.pl around the time the riders started to crumble (when Janowski et al signed a letter asking to be allowed to ride on the new silencer abroad) to the effect that the PZM and GKSZ were manipulating the riders all along. It begins to look that way. I don't think the PZM and GKSZ ever really wanted to stay with the old silencer.
-
So you would agree with me that the best outcome of the winter dispute would've been for Coventry and Peterborough to have been excluded from the Elite League?

Robert Miskowiak not happy: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1R2SUNC_enGB359%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/05/16/robert-miskowiak-dla-sportowefaktypl-takie-rzeczy-tylko-w-po/&usg=ALkJrhgnL_yFcyuRfKYNJHlzGrpYInYCig#Scene_1 Does he ride in Sweden?
-
The same could be said about the riders and they eventually crumbled.
-
No, happy to do so, although by my reckoning it's 16 May, but a day is neither here nor there. Now, will you admit that it is wrong that Przemyslaw Pawlicki is alone among riders who raced between eight and eleven meetings last season not to have been given an average from those eight to eleven meetings?

Swedish Grand Prix

I'm hardly that anonymous. Check your back issues of the Speedway Star and you ought to be able to find one or two of my letters, especially concerning the venue of the 2009 SWC final and race-off. -

No it's not. In his position as a journalist and managing editor of the Speedway Star he should've remained impartial in the winter's dispute. He demonstrated a clear pro-Coventry bias. -
It's compulsory and take a look at the comments at the bottom: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1R2SUNC_enGB359%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/05/16/gksz-wprowadzila-nowe-tlumiki/&usg=ALkJrhjO4Bir1Silrm2yuahtVxVX6cFhuA#Scene_1 The Polish riders have, ultimately, made fools of themselves. You can have no sympathy with them.

He supports Coventry. -
I don't think Gollob ever threatened to quite or even quit speedway. If he did, then it would seem obvious that since he has ridden the new silencer in the GPs and Sweden it's unlikely that he will follow through with the threat. It seems a reasonable decision for the GKSZ to make, given that the riders have capitulated rather pathetically. Once the ring leaders decided it was more important for them to race in the GPs and earn money in Sweden than fight for what they believed in, what was the point in the GKSZ carrying on their prior policy. That policy was driven by the riders. I don't think the PZM or GKSZ ever had much of an issue with the new silencer. It remains to be seen what the fans will make of it. Judging from the comments on sportowefakty.pl, not a lot seems to be the answer.

Not sure about Vojens, but surely the GPs in Malilla and Poland are staged by the clubs. The difference between a club and a promotion you have already pointed out in other threads. That makes no sense whatsoever. -
Two more qualifiers scheduled for this coming Saturday (Malmo and Gorican) and then it's the semi-finals in Slovakia (04-06-11) and Poland (25-06-11).

The alternative is to have them "back-to-back" on successive Saturdays, which would enable people to perhaps take in both on the one trip. -

The problem with that, I imagine, is that you would have to have a decent gap between the two Swedish GPs. -
The Ekstraliga authorities have announced several fines imposed on clubs as a result of them, or their supporters, being naughty: Zielona Gora - 2,000 zloty fine for supporters lighting flares during the Gorzow versus Zielona Gora meeting. Zielona Gora - 2,000 zloty fine for supporters throwing plastic bottles and cups on the track during the Gorzow versus Zielona Gora meeting. Zielona Gora - 2,500 zloty fine, suspended for six months, for inappropriate advertising in the pits during the Zielona Gora versus Czestochowa meeting. Gorzow - 1,000 zloty fine for supporters lighting flares ahead of the Gorzow versus Zielona Gora meeting. Tarnow - 5,000 zloty fine for not having the track suitably prepared in time (one hour before the scheduled start time) for the Tarnow versus Torun meeting. Tarnow - 2,500 zloty fine, suspended for six months, for inappropriate advertising in the pits during the Tarnow versus Torun meeting. Leszno - 2,500 zloty fine, suspended for six months, for inappropriate advertising in the pits during the Leszno versus Wroclaw meeting. Details: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26rlz%3D1R2SUNC_enGB359%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/05/15/cztery-kluby-ukarane-przez-ekstralige-az-trzy-kary-dla-zkz-s/&usg=ALkJrhhhXxigDtkRBLlC7nu84Tc6z_t7dA They do take things jolly seriously.

When you look at today's qualifiers and see Bartosz Zmarzlik, Piotr Pawlicki, Patryk Dudek and Maciej Janowski, then add Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Poland look stupidly strong for the Junior SWC.
-
And the qualifiers from Chervonograd: Piotr Palwicki (POL) Vadim Teresanko (RUS) Andrey Lebedev (LAT) Bartosz Zmarzlik (POL) Vitaly Belousov (RUS) Alexandr Lotaev (UKR) With Szymon Wozniak (POL) as the reserve.
-
Very interesting. Looks like a race-off for the final qualifying place between Poland's Szymon Wozniak and Ukraine's Alexandr Loktaev (or is it Woktaev, as the dreaded "Ł" makes another appearance?). Also a race-off between Poland's Piotr Pawlicki and Russia's Vadim Tarasenko for first place.
-
Getting interesting in Chervonograd. Looking good for Poland's sixteen-year-olds Bartosz Zmarzlik and Piotr Pawlicki.
-
With five riders scoring seven points, it looks like a mini-tournament to decide the "reserve" position.
-
Three wins out of three for the Russian Andrey Kudryashov in Neustadt Donau.
-
Is the Robert Nagy the Robert Nagy of Glasgow fame? And what relation, if any, is he to Patrik Nagy?
-
Apparently it's raining in Neustadt Donau. Starts at 4:00pm BST in Chervonograd.
