  1. Awful, awful news. John Campbell has been the backbone of this club for years. Without him I truly fear for our great club. Armadale is not a venue with any real future. The promotion have been forced to raise prices as costs soar, between that and petrol costs and increasing car park charges Edinburgh monarchs is not always an economical night out. This is a problem of being so far out of the town. I have been attending the monarchs for 28 years. The problem is, I see the same faces now , the same ones I saw as a kid. We are not bringing in enough new fans. Kids in Edinburgh cannot easily get to a match. The only way the club can move forward is with a new long term venue nearer Edinburgh. John Campbell cannot be expected to continually dig deep and save us, end of the day the man is just a fan like the rest of us. He has brought us great teams and saved our club on numerous occasions for this I for one thank him for giving me these matches. I hope monarchs can find a future as I was brought up supporting this club and would dearly miss them if they were gone. Please don't let this signal the final curtain for one of the oldest and best sides in British speedway. I don't want us to end up another long eaton, Exeter or reading.
  2. You are an idiot! Course u have seen it at various points but I gave never seen a team do it as consistently and blatantly. Your obviously about ten years old!
  3. Very constructive, you're obviously extremely well informed and articulate to come up with such a clever reply.
  4. Blatant gamesmanship and cheating. Blatantly lying on track to get a race stopped is very different from moving at the start. Get some perspective my friend. I have no axe to grind with ipswich but tonight two riders in different heats blatantly cheated in my eyes and the views on many other reasonably minded people. Not just people with blue and gold specs but many what I would call speedway fans shared this view
  5. Ipswich are a great team, great club certain riders behaviour tonight was nothing short of disgusting. Lying on track if their teammate was not in a favourable position. As clear as I have seen in 27 years watching this sport. Disgusted
  6. I was just about to hit the Bookies and I guess what harm could it do to have a predictions thread for all things PL. See how far off we all are come October! 7. Back when Edinburgh came back to the league at Armadale in 1997, Long Eaton were the strongest team around at the time and Brent Werner was first class. Gated, stylish and real top drawer performer. I think Brent has always been a stylish performer ability does not disappear overnight. I dont think Brent will ever be a heat leader again, but certainly could be more than useful at second string. But at the same time I am torn. I have always like Brent as a rider, but is he taking the place of a British rider who could do an equal or better job? A Lee Smart, Chris Mills. Look I am not down on Brent or Plymouth I am just throwing the question out there does he truly merit a place in the PL. I am torn as I say like the guy in his hay day, but looking at who is missing out on a place I begin to question the wisdom of his inclusion.
