Many have tried to downplay Wards ability in this thread, but he seems to have found some form at the business end of the season. A skilled showing at PB, followed by a 14 point paid max in the crucial Cup tie v BV. Next was the World Cup tie at K/Lynn and Wards ride in ht 22 was the race of the night. He stalked Woffy until the final bend when Ward went high wide and handsome to get the drive to the line. As pure as it gets. Maybe Tai should be riding the U/21s instead of getting pummeled in the GP's. Maybe then their wouldn't be 2/3 of the series in Russia or former parts of Russia. It really is a sad state of affairs that not 1 Brit could make the final.

I thought the 3rd round was in Russia? I'll check that. I can accept hold the meetings in Europe, but England should have at least one round. So the Aussies and anyone else who speaks the most popular language of the world can actually understand whats going on. It should not be dictated by which promotor wants it, instead the governing body should fairly decide and announce where it will be.

I think youve got luck mixed up with making a bad/costly mistake. Unless you can prove the tapes didn't go up properly, which you cant, then its the opposite of luck. He made an obvious error and can blame no one and nothing but himself. Ward is pure class...and Im sorry I dont trust you. For arguments sake since you mention Woffinden: Do you think Woffinden is a better rider than Ward? please answer yes, so I know your just taking the pee.

hhhahahhahahahaah. Have you rigged the whole tournament?hahahhah

Nothing at all against Bogdy or 'mad Max'. Its just terribly unfair SO FAR as Bodgy was in a meeting that was canceled as you say yet the result stands. How can you say it was canceled if their keeping the points? What if only 2 and a half rounds of heats were finished before it had to be stopped? Surely Bogdy wouldnt of kept his advantage then! and how bad were the conditions in the last heat or two before the end? ...very or fairly lucky either way. If it's true that the next round is his home track in Latvia? of all places...its unbelievable lucky, or unlucky for some? When was this even a speedway nation? last year croatia now latvia? why??? what have they done for the sport over the years to evan warrent consideration? But as Pavlic found out last year in his backyard,,Ward doesn't believe in home ground advantage lol. He rides better with a job ahead of him and being the underdog. He just cranks it on. It will do his title hopes no harm whatsoever. As long as the track is raceable. As for the silencers maybe the danes like them - except Madsen of course.

To start over and run the meeting properly. They obviously got it wrong by starting it in the first place, just admit they stuffed up, and inform the riders they can use the 3 heats ridden as practise; meeting to start following day in the dry. (which it was) No advantage to anyone, and no one can complain. Sure Bogdanovs could be considered hard done by, or unlucky, but its no different to a race that gets stopped after two and a half laps and a rider has a clear lead. They restart it and the rider leading has to do it all over again. Get on with it. Im not sure if any world finals have been settled after 3 heats? But I know of Australian Championships from the past that have been stopped by rain, after 3/4 heats out of five with a clear leader, and they have to do it all over again! Not 100% sure but the name Mick Poole springs to mind as one such unlucky rider. On the other hand; If the conditions weren't all that bad and riders had nothing to complain about, then you could tell them to come back tomm for 2 heats and finish it that way. But why waste the same money and time for 2 heats, that would be stupid,,,but still better and fairer than what they did. This meeting Id presume should have had a big crowd, that all would feel disappoionted and ripped off, so make them happy and put on the full show the next day in the sun.

Must be his lucky year. Not too fair on the rest but. The riders should protest and go on strike until this frakus is sorted. Bring back the one off final I say. And get it right. If they have to stage it in Australia, do it. Even the winter here is drier than the summer over their and our summer basically never rains at all. We did invent the sport as well.

Good name for a horse that..especially one that goes well on a wet/heavy track. He certainly was, he spoiled the entire evening. Not that it was his fault. The meeting either should have been rescheduled the following night, rescheduled for another date, or scrapped and just had a two round series. If this was a traditional one off final, the meeting either wouldnt of even started, or been abandoned, either way it would have been rescheduled, prob for the next night. No way you can let that result stand. Some riders would have had their 3 hardest heats first, and others their 3 easiest rides, so it is rediculous. The only reason they must of used for this decision to let the points count is - that its a 3 round series and the disadvantaged will get their chance to redeem themselves over the next two. Well near enoughis not good enough for me,, this whole series has been comprimised and whatever the next two rounds produce, I doubt it will make up for this debacle. I was never keen on the decision to change from a one off final, and this has to be the most disappointing thing to possibly happen. The result has already been tarnished - after only 3 rides of what should of been a 15 ride series. 15 rides in decent conditions too not 3 in the mud!!

sweet, thanks. Will have to wait and see. The way they run the GPs nowadays, anythings possible and nothing would surprise me.

As Artur wont have any pressure, having already choked it badly, and been handed a free ride, he actually has an advantage over the rest, so. my top 3: Ward , Mroczka , Janowski Any idea how the series points are worked out? and what format each round is? ie how many heats and finals are there each night of the competition? Thats called pressure, and is an example of choking under the pressure. Its ironic that now he has no pressure whatsoever, as he already spat his dummy and can ride with gay abandon knowing he already missed his chance. I think that heat you refer to was before Wards last ride so Ward would have known he only needed a 3rd from his last ride to qualify. If he needed more he prob would have got them.
-
Thanks alot for that! As their was no thread about the series, I wondered if I had the wrong date. Didn't Artur Mroczka get eliminated in the semis. Bit of a joke if he did,, and then ends up winning it or even on the podium.

The first round of the U/21 World Finals is due to begin tonight. Does anyone know if their'll be any updates? I would appreciate any info including starting time, link to updates etc. Thought their would be a fair bit of interest in this event, as it should seperate the men from the boys. Ward was 5/1 last year to win, and he should probably be evan longer odds this year!! As there is a number of top riders in contention. Hope Ward is fit..and CMONNN Darky recapture your crown!

Why did he "have" to bail out? No one has to bail out!!! . The only reason he had to bail out was to guarantee a stoppage and get a chance of a re run. Shocking riding and just as bad referees decision to award that sort of riding. -

great to finally hear what happened. Sounds like Holder needs to take some lessons from Harris on how to get a re run. How would have Niki liked that, just aim the bike at rider in front and jump off the back. -

Niki Pederson - I heard Pederson took him out. Maybe you need to watch the semi a bit closer? -

The only thing Holder done wrong all night was let his countryman through so he may make the finals, and by doing so he ended up with a worse gate in his semi and prob cost him the victory. But when a rider gets taken out like Holder was apparently, you have to wonder who is in control of this sport. The riders or the ref? -

Its a bit hard to pull it off, when you get hit by an elbow then shortly afterwards get slammed by an abandoned bike at full tilt. Harris should of at least tried to stay on the machine. What he did was bail off which doesnt look good at all. But he managed to convince the ref and got the call so he did well. Pity he got what he deserved in the re run and got last. I wouldnt care at all about this decision as its racing and mistakes happen, but for Holder to get ripped off so badly it is hard to accept. -

Maybe you shouldnt hang your elbow out like that, asking for a rider to hit it. He basically took him down with a flying elbow. Clean your goggles. -

My initial reaction was Bomber bailed off the back of his bike sending it into Anderson. Not hard to see what happened. How could you try and argue that. It is black and white. He bailed out and let his bike cannon into Anderson etc. Ref got it badly wrong. He did finish last in the re run. The re run he shouldnt of even been in. -

Bomber was a joke and is wasting opportunities for decent riders who have some skill and talent thats needed at the level, instead of bailing out and ghosting his bike into other riders. He should have been sent packing, and never to return. Holder was ripped off and some better be ready for his reply. There will be a backlash from that disgraceful miscarridge of justice just who and when I will look forward to seeing. -
Now if only Matt Johnson dusted off the leathers, he might be able to show what he's capable of.

.....why was he beaten by Mr Ward in Poland, in Darcys first meeting in Poland and 1st meeting for Torun I find it nearly impossible from your history of posts to believe your not envious of Wards success and are therefor trying to devalue his talent. Why compare a 17 to a 19 yo anyway, as 1 year experience compared to 3 years is light years apart.

If you dont like Penhall now why dont you go and buy the Penhall book. 'Penhall World Speedway Champion'. And I guarantee you will hate his guts that book is a disgrace to the sport and sports writing for ever will be damaged. I think I will burn my copy as noone would buy it back thats for sure and it has made me that angry that it would seem fitting. Penhall is not a sportsmans bootlace.
