  1. He will never be loved in Britain and Most were jealous of his skill long before I came along. The majority of this forum turned against him at the 1st opportunity and never looked back. So my opinion wont change that. I find it amusing that some brits call him not a bright spark - yet they dont know him at all. Anyway how many speedway riders were rocket scientists. and how many would want or try to be. He is young and raw and what you may of heard out of him in a few interviews probably is no indication of his normal persona!
  2. Just sit back relax and watch the development of 'wonderboy'
  3. That is good for Ward as he has bigger fish to fry. Reading the comments about the above story, it says Ward wouldnt be their next year anyway as the juniors have to be Poles. So why should Ward listen to that stupid looking manager anyway. Next year Ward will be bought out by a rival team and placed in the main body, or loaned out and chucked into the main body of the team, where he can dominate. Also Sweeden will be begging for his services and he can name his price.
  4. Ward has the ability and he knows it to take it to the next level. Gollob has been an under achiever all his life and hasnt evan won a WC so what the hell are you on about. Crump did it his way, which was like a rottwheiler. Ward will do it his way, which will be the most flambouyant display of skill ever witnessed on a speedway track. Who knows if Ward may regret making some of his moves, but I say go for it, If you have the balls to walk the walk you can talk the talk. He is great for speedway and it would be a boring sport if every rider behaved like a mute chicken. Ward wants to big himself up,,,,ask yourself why??? because he knows he will deliver the goods and it will be all the more sweet when he does! GO Darky *
  5. How AboUT you Shove ThiS IN youR MemorY BANK: Darcy Ward Will Be World Champion. and your jealous jibberjabber will be quite amusing when I look back through the history of your posts!!! Is it because he didnt light up the Armadump track on his few visits or is it because he single handedly took the trophies from edinburgh, and won Lynn the deserving rewards of a great season.
  6. :D yeah right an 18 year old can always just make the gate and pass everyone round the outside of an unfamiliar track, in only his 2nd ride of the night with a mountain of pressure put on him by the managers tactics. Name me some greats at 18yo!!!! If you want to make a statement like that! Also Ran ahahhhhah you are the only also ran. You really are on a hiding 2 nothing , thinking Darcy is an also ran. Oh sorry I forgot the action at Armadump may not be that good so you have to go fishing by claiming Ward is no good. pfft youll have to do better than that! Also ran...Ill have to put that one in the memory bank n ahahaahaha
  7. [quote name='Dekker' date='20 If Ward is so samn hot as your claim it should have been a walk in the park, but what do we get, a tantrum) Never a walk in a park when visiting team against good riders and on outside. Yes if it was a championship final or a massive event, I would expect Ward would find a way to the front, but in a meaningless match when you are already disappointed and pi$$ed off why would Ward want to bother busting a gut!!! you seem to have no idea what a top rider should be producing and believe me if Ward wanted to he could well of made it look like a park walk.
  8. i dont understand. 1 point paid 2 in ht1, behind teammate whats difference if 2 points? what is it a race between teammates? with winner rewarded? thats a good way to insure safe riding. all on all. Is that a rule - whoever finishes ahead gets heat 4. What a farce.
  9. Cant say I blame Ward at all. The manager running that show should be sacked at least, he doesnt understand the game. Ward waited an eternity for a 2nd ride, then, they give him the shocking outside gate, what do they expect from him, Superman! He needs some smart tacticians to give him a fair chance to shine, as he is the youngest member. Not a manager who favours Emil and Hans and keeps riders guessing without a clue when they might ride.
  10. There are tonnes of better methods than the current one for sure. There should be 3 or so qualifiers through the year with the best 2 or 3 from these qualies replacing the 2-3 worst performing rideers in the GP. So good riders can get a chance when they hit form to replace the dead wood underperforming GP riders. The Qualifiers would be great meetings themselves, and gives non gp riders something to strive for. Then by replacing the worst GP riders the overall GP standard improves and no one can afford to not perform.
  11. Like I said in my last msg- why just assume he will do better next season. Thats the point of having qualifiers. Yes it is just an opinion, BUT it is unbelievably biased and disrespectful to every other rider who is trying to get their!
  12. errrr uuum NO. you should actually have to show some reason to deserve it and the Pole has definately been miles ahead of Tai, who has done zip. You are clearly biased for Woffinden but your rational that he deserves a place ahead of the pole or anyone for that matter is a disgrace. whats his best performance been this year? You dont know he is going to improve massively over the offseason and it could take any length of time before Tai gets up to standard. Why assume after this season, he will be better next season? He will have to qualify like the rest, and maybe then will have whats required to succeed.
  13. Not at all!! Its within his rights to check the engines, and if he did , good on him, as the authorities do f*** all tests. Your rationale that Harris deserves a charity spot ahead of the Pole is a joke, but Woffinden? after his disaster season is the typical british attitute, BUT even 99% of brits wouldnt be dumb enough to think Woffinden deserves another try just yet. Do you spend you days on the street begging for change with a homeless sign around your neck? You are addicted to charity, and the worst example of the british attitute. When Tai can have an impact for wolverhampton then you can think about a higher level, until then dont be such a fool. He was a waste of methanol this year and wont be back, next year!
  14. The book was written by a smitten C.H. fan who just rambled about how great penhall was and said he was the best theres ever been and best there ever will be etc. Utter garbage. Many better since which has made the book seem like a glorified fairy tale. IMHO Penhall did more damage to the sport than good, and the only people who would disagree are Heathens fans who are so overwhelem that he turned around the fortunes of the club from crap to champs so they see him as a God figure. Also it doesnt talk about penhall the person either. Just describes things hes done etc, theres no insight, no quotes from others to back up his 'story' just one fans inane ramblings about how great penhall is and lists everything hes accomplished and done. The author of the book sent me a PM directly after my review and thanked me for an honest appraisal, which was invaluable feedback etc etc. When I seen it was written by a C.H. fan, It made some sort of sense. But surely Bruce Penhall should have ensured a decent sports writer did his biography not a smitten fan. Maybe he wanted it written like that, or maybe he didnt care as long as he got a cut of the proceeds. Anyway notice how the sport in the USA went to rubbish after he quit the game. No new blood for many years and actually the country has never recovered. Yeah well done Bruce your a legend!
  15. How else would you describe someone who quits when they are world champion, for wait for IT....to become an actor. No Bruce Willis either, a C grade low budget load of crap - which he apparently played the part of a cop. After this failed attempt at a job, no he doesn't make a comeback, preferring the safe option of running the family business - 'concrete blasting'. Then confirms he is a strange breed by taking up the biggest money wasting sport ever invented power boat 'racing'. The sport of speedway meanwhile suffered massively during this period. Hard to imagine Roger Federer or Nadal winning a Slam or 2 and creating some great rivalry and competition,,,,then the one on the top suddenly turns his interest to acting or kite surfing, and never plays again. Never a decent explanation. Now he is bound to have some followers and others who have questions or are intrigued to find out more bout him. That is why it was never a good idea to have a biography about him written by an adoring Cradley Heathens fan, who needed rope tied to his ankles, as he was so far up Penhalls ass, he didnt evan try to give a subjective view. Just tried to big everything about him up, and not write about anything at all interesting. I cant help but feel he robbed the speedway world 'of that time' of some fascinating battles throughout the eighties, and depleted what was shaping as a golden period for speedway. As for him saying he could have matched Muller in 83 or whatever he said I'm sure all the big guns would have thought the same, but at least some others had the courage to have a go. edit: FWIW I couldnt agree less about 83. The two crowns penhall won were on very smooth speedway tracks , whereas 83 was tailored for longtrack specialist Muller, who was unstoppable! Penhall was dreaming of being able to match him. I doubt he would have scored many at all in 83. Still the question remains unanswered: If you are that arrogant or confident in your ability - why would a competitive sportsman hang up the boots for good??? when still a baby in the sport. Until he can answer that question properly he will remain an enigma and not deserve one bit of admiration.
  16. OHHHH REALLY!!!!! where did I state he wrote the thing? His book meaning it is about him. He must have endorsed it, or have an opinion on it. If I thought he wrote it, then I wouldnt need to know his thoughts as its his work and he must take respoinsibility. Ive already given my review of the book in another thread and my comments were appreciated by the author - Steve. Although Its little consulation. You can buy it if you wish there are 2nde hand copies everywhere 4 sale, as no one wants to keep it. Painful to read TBH! It is like glorifying a conman.
  17. I'd like to know how he thought his Book Penhall speedway world champion ended up?? I would really question him as to whether he thinks that book is worthy of evan hitting the printers let alone charging fans of the sport to read that garbage, and is he willing to accept it back if I post it back. I have a few more questions but knowing the type of character he is, He would just hang up the phone, rather than have the decency to answer some home truths!
  18. Any idea why they are televising one of the worst meetings (on paper) when there are much more interesting looking matches to choose from. TBBH This must be the decider for the wooden spoon. Where are these sides placed on the p[oints table? Poor choice. Indianerna are a shocking side.
  19. Wait and see.... If hans rides half fit and Jensen also...they wont win the game..bye bye season. Serves them right.
  20. are you condoning Jensens performance last week. Lets get to the point. I say its not good enough, you obviously disagree and think it is OK. If thats how you would run a team then best of luck to you. I am making an educated assessment of the selection problems at this club.
  21. Do you rate a rider by the stats sheet do you? Must be a simple job being manager then, just work out who has the better stats and pick them. You dont evan need to watch the racing - just have basic numeracy skills and youve got the job. From what ive seen of Jensen he has been last in every ride. At least ward can and does crank it up when its needed, whereas Jensen crumbles under the expectation and chokes it badly.
  22. Competitions are not won on the stats sheet. Its what happens on the track that counts, and not just what but when. Jensen last week scored 1 point from 4 or 5 rides. There is no excuse for that performance. When it mattered most he let the whole team and city down badly. Its not what but when. Ward is getting better whereas Jensen is getting worse. Just looking at last weeks performance Jensen was the worst possible rider in the world. Ward scored more from 1st ride. The manager needs to grow some balls! Otherwise there will be riots in the stadium when they get beaten. The home crowd will want some blood and Jensen better be on the gas. edit: I have seen Jensen a few times and he is always trailing last....so he doesnt impress me at all. At least Ward can wind it on and puts up a good fight. Jensen has no guts at all.
  23. Could any experts on the Polish league please explain why Torun are using the hapless Jesper Jenson and not Darcy Ward? Last week was a prime example of how useless this bloke is in the big meetings. For him to get another chance and in all probability do it again, they deserve to go down. No wonder Torun is struggling with crowds - you leave someone like Ward out for a dud like Jenson and you pay the penalty. I just hope there is a late reshuffle of the line up, for Toruns sake, or they are gone. Their only hope could be that Jensen is good at home which he will have to be superman to make up for his pitiful showing last week away. Could be too little too late and a disasterous move by Toruns Directors. I knew it was bound to fail, but didnt expect it to be so obvious.
  24. Has anyone viewed this video? I was wondering if someone could put these heats on you tube, as Ive tried unsuccessfully to download them. Looks like you have to download the lot before they might play, and this would take forever not to mention use about 2GB ?? What the hell?
