Jasper, I am not talking about being burnt out after one meeting. This is a well known concept that 'long term' affects all sportsmen. How many promising young footballers have been simply flung into the big time and because they shouldn have been nurtured a little more ended up with no moral and subsequently flunked... I will tell you, Loads!
Speedway is not a big sport like football, there are not the hundreds... thousands of hopefulls who will vie for the few top places. For that reason, it is important to make sure that when you do fling them up a level, you do it gradually in order that they can grow with the experience rather than suffer from it. King and Woofy obviously got a lot from Monday (and deservedly so, they were superb), but why push it to demands from them both by keeping them in tonight... once is an experience, twice... or even more, is starting to demand from them and in my opinion maybe just a little too much too soon. Hell, let them enjoy their success for a little before putting huge pressures on them!
I stand by my asertations that the balance was to extreme towards the youth side.
