Swc Event 2, King's Lynn, 26/7

Happy... Happy... Happy days, that was simply the best Speedway meeting ever After The Aussies won the first 3 heats, when Team GB came back, I don't think there was ever any more than about 3 points between them after that until the end... ABSOLUTELY SUPREME Bring on the Poland !!! -
wow When Ivan Mauger won his titles, the competition was at its' most fiercest... EVER!!! The difference between Mauger and Rickardsson is that when Rickardsson matched Maugers' 6 titles, there was no where near the same level of competition... infact, Speedway was at that time, a fraction of the GIGANTIC sport it was in its' heyday when Mauger dominated the sport. Also Rickardsson won it within the scenario of a Grand Prix Series, where it is possible for a rider to have one or two bad days and still end up world champion. Ivan Mauger had to get it right on the night ALL 6 TIMES... and he would likely have won 10 world titles had he been competing under the current GP format... FACT! Ivan Mauger is still the greatest World Champion to this day... He is to Speedway what Pele is to football !!! There are pleanty of 'great' riders at present, but no competition to Ivan for the title of 'Greatest'... as yet of course

..Scuse me!!! Area Special? I think you will find Scotland is a Country not an 'Area'!!! Show some respect. Jeesh, I'm glad us Scots are heading for independence, at least we will not have to keep putting up with the pathetic English having an unfounded sense of supremacy all the time. Saor Alba.

Gollob Booed By Polish Fans
BongoBrian replied to CookieMonster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It made for a classic 'hollywood style' villain to hero story though... I bet there are script writers all over hollywood with their notepads out after seeing this one. Roy of the Rovers eat your heart out! Well done to Poland & commiserations to Australia, it was a fantastic meeting which was not ruined by the rain delay. Ps. Just about to go to Ashfield, so as I said in another thread, I hope Shane is more fired up than dissapointed and ready for a bit of whoop ass to get it out his system. -
...very funny But I would have expected more help from someone with your name.

Good Morning all, How I love the smell of Methanol in the morning. Does anyone know of a stream in English, I can only find a Polish one on Justin.tv?
-
MidnightLady really has to learn about Glaswegians... Weegies don't pay you to perform for them... You blooming well perform or you have had it !!! On the other side of the coin, if you do perform well in Glasgow, the crowd are absolutely the most up for it anywhere and will let you know it. ... why would you hold a major event in any other second rate city?
-
There is a simple solution of course, the BSI just don't give Poland any major events in future. I wouldn't mind seeing a Speedway WC Finals at Hampden Park in Glasgow
-
There is no way this is going ahead at 11:00am (local time) tomorrow... the forecast is for heavy rain all night, dying down to light rain through tomorrow. How is that track supposed to dry out by mid morning? I agree, the Poles should have re-scheduled their League if they are holding the SWC... next year Cardiff has been moved to later so that it doesn't collide with the Football World Cup. How can the International Speedway Authorities organise the SGP to suit other events, but the Polish Speedway Association not demonstrate any flexibility? Are they more important? Dinnae think so! But saying that, if it does go ahead, I'm diving down to the greasy spoon to get a big fry up Scottish breakfast and plonk myself on the couch in front of the meeting
-
...So what are you doing on a Sunday morning that's more important than Speedway? If I had my way, we would have Speedway every Sunday morning
-
OFFICIALLY CALLED OFF !! 10am UK (11am Poland)... Excellent, what a nice way to wake up on a Sunday and now it won't clash with the Glasgow Tigers.
-
Agreed, but if anyone at the track can't see that for themselves then...
-
The TV pictures tell the story... http://www.justin.tv/mordane2/old
-
....Nooooooooo !!! That clashes with Tigers v Rebels meeting in Glasgow (4pm)... I will need to really rush back from Ashfield as soon as we beat the rebels in order to catch the WCF.
-
Still chucking it down... people starting to leave by the looks of it too... Loud thunder though
-
Just watching it on telly now http://www.justin.tv/mordane2/old ... no chance of meeting going ahead.
-
...not at all dude, I do use it a lot for watering down my vodka though!
-
Cheers, there is also a link to the Red Bull x-fighters which I might watch after the Speedway. I know it's not speedway, but I was quite impressed with the guy's In Glasgow City Centre last saturday where they did a demo.... HUGE jumps
-
Cheers RnR, I don't have sky either, but as Andy asked, I couldn't get on StuSports on Thursday. It is possibly because I forgot about the time difference and it was heat 11 by the time I tuned in. I found it on my p2p.eu, but it was all in Polish which was a little bit of a pain, although it didn't spoil the actual racing. I will see you over on Stueys Andy. Regards, Bongo.

I am hoping the Aussies can do it... It might put Shane Parker on a high ready for his return tomorrow Ps. Anyone know what time it starts UK time? and is it on Sky TV, or do I have to watch it in Polish on t'internet again?
