  1. What a joke hardly any difference between.the strength of both leagues, due to the one 8 point rider per team rule.It also stops any more top riders being attracted back to Britain just keep the standard of riders down ,and watch the crowds go down again.
  2. By only allowing one over eight point rider you have prevented more top riders coming back to British league and in doing so watered down the standard of the riders in the league. Other thing to change is the dropping the double point rule, good move the tac sub rule is a better option.I wrote to the B S P A last year asking for this to be done, But i also wanted to make it more interesting so team managers would have more to think about by adding a twist to tac sub rule. If a rider is nominated to take a tac sub ride he could then not be allowed to ride in heat fifteen it would make team managers have to use there skills when making decisions on who to use and who to save fof heat fifteen. thus making team managers job much more interesting i lost interest in being a manager because of a lack of any decision making only a stupid black and white hat.Of course there is more to team managing like knowing how to deal with riders ,how to motivate riders some you have to shout at and others you have to treat differently to get a reaction ,anyway hope someone agrees with my ideas

  5. Drew Kemp is the best prospect i have seen since Dan Bewley, and i hope he does not get a heat leader role straight away he needs time ti develop. But i am sure he will progress to a heat leader during the season .By the way what as happened to Taylor Hampshire he was another i was impressed with but he seems to have vanished
  6. Excuse me Josh Auty came from last to first in heat two
  7. Can anyone help ,i am trying to find a d v d of a Newcastle v Sheffield meeting held on the Sunday the 12 of July 2015.It was filmed by the late great Bob Tasker ,if anyone as got a copy i would buy it off them hope someone can help thank you
  8. i called to see Ricky last Wednesday,he is doing ok but still has a long road ahead. He can hold a conversation and with help stand up for a short time. The house as been changed so he is on one level so no stairs to climb. His dad Dave is doing a great job helping him to do things .The lad is determined to work hard at getting some sort of independence doing things we lucky ones take for granted,He is a lovely lad and i am proud to call him a mate,he shows great will power and will improve his health over time .
  9. Same thing happened at Birmingham in 2014 .Perhaps Mr Mole and his mate Mr Dury will ride in to save Belle Vue
  10. When he rode for Belle Vue he sometimes rod e with with Peter Craven, Peters top of his helmet nearly reached Dons shoulder there must have been about a foot difference in height. Always made us laugh at the difference in height, when they stood by the pit gate before the race
  11. i rode for Nelson in 1968 and 69 and can fill you in with some details also Graham Tattersall son of the team manager has some photos and can help with any information you might need Graham still rides in demonstration meeting with the men in black
  12. Just found this topic, i would like to thank Daniel for his riding at Brum this year i only met him this season ,and he was one cool guy.Very likable and no trouble easy to work with ,i would like to wish him all the best in what ever he does from now,Daniel you are a nice guy and it was a pleasure to work with you. 13. For god sake lets try to get speedway back to raceing passing ect.Start by slowing it down putting more dirt back on tracks and bringing back throttle control. Now its just rev and go hardly any passing rubbish, slow the bikes down bring back track craft the tracks have not changed for at least twenty years only to become slicker, but the bikes have become faster, but you still have to get round the same track.I Am not interested in how fast a rider can go i want to see real racing riders passing each other. Its because of the speed of the bikes that prevents to much dirt being put on tracks .the use of silencers did not help but that is a nessetity it realy wont be noticed by the average speedway fans if the bikes are taking four or five seconds longer to complete a race but if riders had to use the throttle a bitt more it could produce better racing than the full throttle from the gate to finnish we see today. Also it would help to keep cost down for riders ,they would not be putting engines under such stress by easing off the gas ,I have watched speedway since 1951 and been involved since 1966 as a rider machanic and official and think i know a little bitt ,so before we kill the sport lets think how we can make it better by thinking back , Jack Parker who was a perfectionest of his time once said it dont matter what the race time was aslong as you won the race, very true so come on before everyone desserts the sport get it sorted .
  14. At long last b s p a members have woken up i dont want to make anything out of it but ,i have been saying for years that only british riders should be at reserve in both the Elite and Premier leagues , and at last they have gone half way but come on make it a rule in the Premier as well stop playing about. Also i think we should have at least two Britts in the top five lets get back to helping ourselves its the only way we might get back to being a world power in speedway.
  15. It happened tonight heat 15 I O W , i dont see why a team should gain a advantage because one of its riders falls off on his own in third or fourth place, when the other team are in a heat advantage position,
  16. Once again a meeting result as been changed because a rider as fallen or put the bike down when the other teams riders are on a heat advantage. There as got to be a new rule brought in to stop this happening, its simple if a rider falls causing the heat to be stopped with the opposing team on a 5 -1 or 4- 2 the heat should be awarded. No matter what lap they are on it is happening to often now, i have had it done on my team at least four times this season and some of it as been blatant cheeting we have got to stop it now .
  17. Dirt deflectors the new silencers, hardly any dirt to deflect new silencers make engines run to hot and bikes unpredictable. dirt dust deflector over priced ripp off new silencer cost as much as most cars full system what a rip off for the riders.A combination of useless add ons all over priced, racing follow the leader not much passing (passing only in the National League}please sort out a silencer that allows more throttle control, riders are afraid to let off throttle its full on from start if they do the bike can rear out of control or if they hit some dirt the motor dies that is like coming off the throttle and the bike rears the silencers have made it harder to control the bikes and made speedway even more dangerous .Tell me why the so called experts dont listen to what riders tell them the wire filled silencer is much safer to ride and also allows the engine to run cooler, that in turn reduces wear and tear on engines.Surely it would be common sense to change things and make it safer and hopefully cut down on some needless costs.
  18. About time all you Elite fans gave National League a chance,i have been saying for years its the best speedway you will see.And the times were only two yes two seconds a race slower, that is half a second a lap.Just go and watch National League its great its cheaper and its good racing with passing that you are not used to seeing any more at Elite level and you will have a good night of speedway.Good luck to Mick Horton and all at Coventry for having the guts to give National League a chance. And all the best to Robert Branford hope you have a good season but dont score to many against Buxton or the chicken dinner will be cancelled. Jack Lee
  19. Well done Matt Williamson getting to the under 21 final,he kept his cool whilst others lost it on a very tricky track.PLYMOUTH is not the easyist of tracks to ride on a dry night ,so to go and score points on the very first visit and in his very first speedway meeting was a great result for him.Hey Chopper keep your knickers on .
  20. Yep to many stupid rules some that can be translated in different ways.Health and safety done to death, silly cost of engines the sooner formula two speedway kicks in the better, try running the National league on formula two and make it cost less for new young riders to get into speedway. The more we can get riders useing standard engines like the ones you see on the motor cross circuits the more chance off getting the motorcycle owners interested in speedway. The rule book needs to be rewritten in English so it can be understood by us mere mortals.
  21. F,oamfence you dont realy know what is going one of the problems and reasons riders stay in the National league is the Premire teams signing non britts and causing a block for any riders moving up.Iknow some riders have moved up but more could if Premire teams were made to sign only riders from the National league at reserve. The National league need to maintain a good team that can provide racing above the standard off a practice meeting. They have to provide supporters with a product thats worth the 10 or 12 pounds entrance fees.Six out of the eight teams in the National are stand alone clubs and to continue to survive they need to attract fans through the gate and must have teams of riders who can race not wobble round, that is why they must be allowed to hold onto there riders. [hope my spelling meets your approval]
  22. BW We have almost compleated the team and when Jayne gets back from holiday and the A G M has been held there will be more names released
