  1. I realy hope the National league start to stick up for the riders who sign for them,by changing the rules that prevents some from guesting for Premire teams. At least six riders cast aside by the Premire league for non britts,[at least half the reserves in the Premire league are forign whitch to me should never be allowed to happen ],can guest when the Premire league promoters come snieding around because the new forign import goes missing or hurt himself or turns out to be a duffer.why should the team who signed a rider rejected by the Premire league suffer just because a Premire team now need them. The rule allow the likes off NIck Morris Craig Cook Josh Auty ect be allowed to ride in two leagues and yet the National league men cant how are they supposed to make speedway pay. Its always the National team who are treated like crap by the rules why should any team loose a top rider just because a Premire team suddenly wants him,if he was signed to the National team at the start of the season he should be allowed to stay there and if a Premire team wants to use him they can but his National league meetings take priority. And the rider should then stay with his Natioal League club who have to think of there supporters just like any team no matter what league they are in.i am realy cheesed off that after twenty years the National league is still being treated like second class citizens come on National league promoters and bosses show some balls and stick up for yourselfs lets not be pushed around any more, because i for one am pissed off by it ,we are not a training league anymore thats what the develoment leagues are for, we have outgrown that we have to make the job pay just like the other two leagues.,Stand alone clubs need to hold on to there top men all season not just untill the Premire teams needs them they did not want them in the first place so just let any riders from National league guest thats all is needed.Just leave our teams alone.
  2. i think the widnesian whirlwind is know other than the one and onlyDean Felton who comes from Wolverhampton not Widnes
  3. Hope to see you al there all riders except Rob Branford will be there so will be available to chat and mybe dance with all present.Hope that is enought info for all who have asked me thanks Jack.
  4. Hope that the top brass will see sense and make room for the britts to move into the premire league.Lets get ridd of some of the forign guys,it to me is stupid to allow non britts to ride at res in both the elite and premire leagues. And riders who double up should be britts in both leagues. If we dont bring in new restictions on the use of forign riders what the hell are we all waisting our time running the National league for. Jack Lee
  5. This is a must win meeting for us,and i hope the long gap we have had between home meetings wont be a problem.I will be getting the boys wound up before the match, and we will be going for it.p s congrats to Chris Holder on his World Championship win.
  6. Congrates to Chris Holder he will be a great world champ, another Bruce Penhall type.A great ambasador for speedway.Jack Lee

  8. Just seen this thread i rode at Canterbury in a challenge match late 69 for Nelson the partitions where used in heat one and i was off four i got a brilliant start and remember coming out of the forth bend on the first lap thinking i hope they have moved the partitions we agreed to there use with it being a challenge i cant remember if they used them all night but i know they where used in heat one i came out of the start two bikes clear of the others ..Jack Lee ex Nelson Admirals rider.
  9. Dont forget Arthur Wright he is a regular at Buxton keeping an eye on Ben Taylor .Arthur is Bens great uncle.Think he is about 83.
  10. pETER cRAVEN and Peter Collins had great tallent on a bike both did not need to gate to winn races,Mauger would be lost today having to sitt still at the start he would not have been as succesfull today.Carter was a racer and on his day was the best, but he did not have the brains to think a race throu abitt like Garrrity today.
  11. The cost of things just piss me off sqaull, but that wont bother you you will never put leg your over a speedway bike like your dad did.Or over a woman so go away. :rofl:The people who run speedway dont put there brain into gear before they make a rule so untill they hand over the job of making new rules to people who dont stand to gain from the rules they make we are all doombed. The stupid 8 point rule the forign ups sorrry Elite league made last year must be scrapped going off the averages in speedway star 17 riders are over 8 points. There are only 10 teams does that mean 7riders will be out of a job next year,we will see. What a cockup and this year has not finnished yet, another winter of disscontent no dout.
  12. And you beat em fair and square Deano when i rode in the sixtys seventys we mostly did our own engines.I used to fitt new valves rings and sprngs,in eight years of running a speedway bike i only paid someone once for a rebore and then i fitted a new piston. In them days we also did most repairs on our vans ect,i think today people are scared to have a go its not rocket sience just a bitt of nohow and you could save a fortune .Imust admitt the cost of spares for speedway bikes are criminal the stupid dirt deflecters what dirt are they deflecting most tracks dont have any dirt, and the cost of clutch plates are a ripp off,and now they are charging 300 pound for a silencer, god you can get a complete exhaust system for most cars cheaper than that,as far as cost in speedway the riders are being ripped off for everything they have to buy.The dirt deflectors cause alot of riders to fall when they catch there front wheels on the rider infronts one, get ridd of them they are not needed. As for other stuff look round you can find cheaper replacements for spares outside speedway have a look.
  13. First off my thoughts are with John lets all wish him well.I would like to thank the Dudley fans for the great reception they gave us at the end of the meeting,it was very much appreciated. We have not had a lot to cheer this season but after sunday and last night we are sorry the season is not just starting.I i want to say well done to the lads and letts go to Stoke and get a good result and get up the league we dont deserve to be bottom . Jack
  14. I agree Chopper we could have thrown heat ten and it was a option but we at Buxton dont work that way.It would have prevented Kings Lynn from useing a tac ride if we had told Dean to come third but we are not cheats. But it makes you think just how often it may have been done, all it does is cheat the public .Lets try another rule say being ten behind you can put any rider in a race,as long as they dont exceed the amount of rides allowed. But they dont score double points,i think its a fairer way of doing it and it gets ridd of the stupid double points rule.So if a team goes ten behind after heat 5 they can replace any rider with any rider in any heat twice, but all must still have three starts minimum. And they only score normal race points it worked for years and gives the team manager more options to consider.
  15. Just to let everyone know the Hitmen take on Kings Lynn on sunday its been sometime since we had a meeting but the fixtures this year are a shambles.Riders are finding it hard to stay focused and keep there racing heads on.its no fault of the clubs but it is a poor way of doing things next year it may be an idea to start the league later so we can have more regular meetings.Anyway after a good result at I O W the Hitmen should be on the gas and get a winn against the young stars .
  16. I would like to thank all at I O W for a very friendly welcome and a enjoyable nights racing. And well done to the Hitmen for snatching a league point. We may sett a record for scoring more league points away from home than at home, this season.
  17. Hi Bryn we the Hitmen are at full strength and are not coming all that way for no points. So i will be motivating my team to go for the winn we need one. jack
  18. I know how much work and time Richard puts into Buxton speedway he also has a business to run.Any one knows how hard it is to prepare a track when the sun is baking hot like it was on sunday. He had no sooner watered the track before it dried out again ,so he has to drench it before the start to stop it becoming a dust bowl.Ok it did cut up but most tracks do in those conditions. No dout Richard will do his best to put things right before the next meeting.Give him a chance before all you track experts start moaning. Jack Lee
  19. i was realy proud of all the Buxton team they naver gave up.And we where very unlucky not to grab a point.Robs ride in heat 11 was brilliant the way he got Jason to the front was class. If we had started the meeting like we finnished it we would have won.once again thanks lads for a great effort. Jack
  20. more. I have no idea who the Buxton team will be (I'll leave that to Jayne!) BUXTON LINE UP J.GARRITY GUEST R/R BRANFORD L PRIEST D FELTON A ALLOTT P BURNETT R BLACKLOCK
  21. hi Dean are you also known as the Widnes Flyer
  22. We at buxton try to give chances to new riders but they are very thin on the ground.Being a stand alone club we need to have a team that can win home meetings and also give a good acount on away tripps.Last season we got lucky with riders coming good but they then all moved on except Adam and Rob, lewis retired we tried to get riders to sign but most had better offers from other clubs. We ended up signing riders who have been around a while because there are no english riders yet ready for national league racing. That is a sad fact at of the end of the day supporters want a winning team,it makes no difference what league you are in.
  23. Although i welcome the new teams that are second teams,i dont welcome the way they want to rule how the league is runn regarding, reduced points limmit and the age restiction rule .I personaly thought that last year the National League standard was right but this year its been watered down to suit the new teams and i think its a bad move ,look what watering down the Elite League has done.Come on dont be scared Buxton may not winn everything this year.
  24. There are just know youngsters who could be put in to do a job .we have to think of the fans who pay money to watch and try to put out the best team we can but due to rules out of our control we are prevented from doing so.We would be within the points limit If we inclued Dean but due to what i think must be a illegal rule we must go with a weakend team.ageisum at its worst.
