Sullivan's New Tyre
pirate paul replied to Biddows's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That was to do with solid block tyres if I remember correctly. The riders were dead against using them as they lowered the grip of the tyre but the FIM insisted on their use. Can't remember if they were used in league speedway or just GPs. -

Since when? You used to do nothing but slag him off!
-
If they were turning left, then how the HELL did Nicholls leann the bike onto Hans?
-
And huge thanks to the director for showing a picture of Crump pushing his bike across the centre green during the last lap of the final
-
Quite right! Also isn't it heartwarming to see all the Brits on here getting behind their countrymen again! Some people should be ashamed.
-
Come on AJ!
-
I'm saying nothing Oh OK I can't help it. Wrong decision. Hans had a little nudge and laid it down. What the hell does he expect if hes turning left into Nicholls? Pathetic
-
I agree, having seen it a few more times it looks like six of one and half a dozen of the other. Very tough call.
-
Hate to say it but I think the ref called that one right. Crump was hard but there was no contact with Lindback.
-
Just be thankful its in Sweden. If it had been England it would have been rained off hours ago
-
Don't know about mixing with the best, but I reckon Bomber Harris would do better than Richardson.
-
Difficult one. I would LOVE to see Mark back to his gp best, however could he still mix it at that level? Yes I know he beats gp riders week in and out in the elite league but the boys step it up a gear for the gps. But yeah, if he shows some of the old magic, then why the hell not!

Another oh so mature, sheep like posting from a plastic dane How about if us fans who don't actually want to see any riders hurt hope that when Scotty does get wiped out his bike sails over the fence and lands on you? No? Well don't wish it on anyone else!

2006 Grand Prix Competition
pirate paul replied to Steve Turner's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
And check out the 7 year old riding high in 19th place! Seems he's started to climb the table now he's stopped taking his old mans advice -
Ooff! As much as I hate to admit it, that was a dreadful decision! Scotty is a very lucky boy tonight.
-
Deary me, nightmare for Tonihno tonight. Good to see Scotty up there though, lets just hope he can go that extra step tonight. On a different tack, how much longer do we have to put up with Millards Mistakes? I used to find it quite amusing but now its getting to the point where it is ruining my enjoyment of the coverage. Come on Sky, do the right thing and move him onto something a bit less taxing. Like curling perhaps?

Indeed. And of course Hans would never do something so unsporting would he? -

Well Done Team Gb
pirate paul replied to pirate paul's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
At the end of the day we did a lot more than everyone thought we would a week ago. Slate my post if you want, I couldn't give a s**t, our boys can hold their heads high. -
Most people wrote them off, and I'm ashamed to say I agreed. I didn't think we would make it past the race off. But we did and we dug in after a bad start and pulled ourselves back into it. And we beat the bookies and the fans favourites. Well done boys, I am proud to be British and to support Team GB.
