Have read that Günther Bauer rode at Inzell with 5 broken ribs.Broke them in a training session at Saalfelden on New Years Eve.Not seen any confirmation of that though. On Günthers site it says he was ill and that is the reason he never took part at Flims

iris123 replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
What is the latest news concerning Varg-Olle and Fredrik Lindgren?Olle still doing work for the youngsters? -
Yes,Tom rode for Newport.Doubling up in his first year with the Diamonds, plus also rode for Hull while at Barrow
-
Sure others can fill you in better than me.especially with years and averages. But Tom did ride for Stoke. Was Joe team manager?Joe also rode in the top league with Hull

He only made the first bend of the first heat f-s-p!. Had a good chat with Smoli, who was the star of the show imo.And it is really a show rather than a race meeting.Which some tend to forget.I know there were words spoken to a few of the riders to calm down a bit.Still feel the speedway is a bit flat compared to the freestyle show. And i know a friend of mine was disappointed that the autograph break didn't feature any of the speedway riders, but did have the freestylers and go-kart drivers! Yes,does seem he broke his right arm and leg Looking at Christian Webers stats from Wiener Neustadt and there were 44 falls in 23 heats!!!Only 5 heats finished without someone falling. These meetings on concrete are pretty tricky at best Results from inspeed.de Semi 1 1.Fabriek 2.Wölbert 3.Hülshorst 4.Walker Semi 2 1. Aarnio 2. Petersen 3. Smoli 4. Danielczik Final results 1. Wölbert 2. Petersen 3. Aarnio 4. Fabriek 5. Smolinski 6. Walker 7. Danielczik 8. Hülshorst 9. Stanek 10.Katt 11.Drossmann 12. Pisczc

Can anyone give career details for Cyril. All i know is he had the two spells at Wimbledon with a few years at Belle Vue in between. Was he from South London?Averages?
-
Same as the German usw(und so weiter),just as i thought Results of the first day Inzell click on the pdf link at the bottom for full heat details
-
It's no wonder you don't get many people looking in,when you treat them like that Maybe you could expand the thread to include Norway, and then make it a bit more interesting
-
They have copied them from the Swedish site i guess. There was a Russian asking for updates My guess with no knowledge of Swedish is the osv has nothing to do with Svensson, but might be the same as the German usw,i.e... and so on

Diedenbergen Squad T.Stange R.Weis M.Bartz J.Pape R.Deddens(U19) D.Wienke(U21) G.Walasek(Pl) D.Jeleniewski(Pl) G.Zengota(Pl) P.Hougaard(Dk) Need a good second German rider really compared to the other teams named. But Deddens looked pretty good last year when i saw him.Plus plenty of potential with Walasek and one of the others. taken from the bundesliga site

Same as you,i don't think it sounds good.He was progressing well.Just had his first full year in Britain and got near the 6 point average i said he could get.He was in Staechmanns plans for U19 competitions.I do wonder about youngsters trying to break into all the different leagues too early though. But everyone is different.Denmark is only a small country and there are a lot of riders chasing sponsorship.
-
Oi,fill your thread up with that sort of rubbish Anyway,as i am not going to the first day at Kiel,i hope Aarnio manages to last until sunday
-
Seems Jonas Raun will take a year off this year.He hasn't enough money to ride and will try and get everything together to make a comeback in 2009.Was supposed to ride for Holsted in Denmark and Lodz in Poland.Sad news after he seemed on his way up the ladder.Showed lots of promise when i have seen him J.Raun

Tv Deal Done For Elite Speedway In Sweden
iris123 replied to tarabanko's topic in International World of Speedway
Well the rest of us will have to hope some clever clogs sets up an internet link, like we have seen for the GPs -
Wojtek Szoltysek has probably never been to Sanok.Might never have been to an Ice Racing meeting. In fact, might never have been to Poland
-
It's the battle of the speedway mags.On the one side we have Speedway Sanomat + Bahnsport-Aktuell in the "artificial" camp v Speedway Star in the "natural" camp????
-
This is the latest i have seen on Tommy. T.Stange works on comeback Must say i am not the best one to comment on Tommy as i haven't seen him that much over the past few years. He doesn't seem to ride much up here. But the atricle says he is working up to 8 hours a day in a fitness studio to get fit for the new season. His dream is to be a GP rider. So i would guess he would jump at the chance to ride in Britain again.he always said before that is what he wanted. He does seem to be prone to injury though
-
Apparently, further to the news about the Wolfslake squad Pawel Hlib will apparently be riding as a German this season. Here at least. As he has acquired a German pass.So that significantly bolsters the Wolfslake team,as they can use Pawel + two foreigners.Added benefit is that Hlib is then assesed as a 4pt rider instead of 10.And they also have the other 3 Polish riders(Sekula,Schmidt and Kasperek) riding with German passports!!!!!
-
Too right it is.I have nothing but admiration for the youngsters who come over for these competitions. The young guys who travel over for the 80cc World Championship the last two years, especially. Will be hoping to make it to Norden and also up to Denmark to see the young boys from Oz again this summer.
-
Seems as Tuinstra didn't make it through on his own steam they have seeded him through to Saransk. So now only 5 go through from Inzell. No reserve as the reserves are from Stockholm and Saalfelden

The deadline has passed and so we still have 7 teams in the Bundesliga Brokstedt Diedenbergen Landshut Neuenknick Olching(2007 champions) Pfaffenhofen Wolfslake(newcomers) Güstrow have dropped out. Most probably because they have a couple of international meetings. The new European U19 Team semi final, plus a quali round for the U21 individual World title. What with the redevelopment of the track they have done over the past couple of years they probably don't have the money to enter a team. Ex-rider Georg Hack obviously not happy with the change of rula allowing two foreign riders in each team.He says his team(Landshut)can't afford 2,and will have to use German riders to try and keep up with the other teams. New Bundesliga web-site http://www.speedway-bundesliga.de/ Pocking will not run a meeting for the second year Following on from the problems caused by a neighbour complaining about the noise from the track that caused the cancellation of the traditional Easter meeting last year.Pocking have had to cancel plans to hold a meeting this year also. The local council want to build workshops for a Adult education centre by the track. The building is planned to be 60m long and 11m high. The old workshops have been demolished and the cntract to build the new workshops has been handed out to a contracter. This building would act as a noise barrier,so there would hopefully be no grounds for complaint from the neighbour. Trouble is,she has put in a complaint against the building of the workshops. The protest has been turned down, but she has appealed against the decision. As it is election year the sitting council will wait until the new council is in place and the appeal has been heard. The elections are in March, but the new council won't take office until 1st of May.Too late for Pocking even though the predicted new local government have given them permission to go ahead with their meeting. This would still mean them paying out for a noise barrier of some sort that was found to be too costly last year Let's hope this story has a happy ending and next year Pocking are back
