Also a rather spectacular but harmless fall from 13 year old Fritz Riemer who had a massive wobble coming down the straight and couldn't correct it.But he also got better as the meeting went on Fotos Short TV report Results from Bundesliga,Neuenknick DIEDENBERGEN 40 R.Deddens 3 M.Schultz 11 T.Stange 15 N.Magosi 11 T.Gävert NS D.Krecklow (2)0 GÜSTROW 30 S.Mell 8 R.Haupt 5 T.Johansson 9 E.Pudel 4 R.Baumann 1 S.Malyschew (10)3 BROKSTEDT 29 N.Klingberg 8 S.Katt 10 R.Stanek 1 T.Kröger 2 S.Petersen 7 M.Zywek (5)1 NEUENKNICK 26 M.Bartz 4 T.Busch 6 M.Sekula 0 L.Jankowski 12 P.Döllmann 2 A.Ledwig (7)2 Edit:A crowd of around 600 at Neuenknick Was a bad crash when Tobi Busch and Sönke Petersen came together.Norbert Magosi following,had no chance and collided with Sönke.Both were taken to hospital.From the report i have seen Sönke will be out for 8-10 weeks,but Norbert is out for the season.Hope it isn't as bad as that and get well soon to both

I don't think they will give up that easily Brian The thing is i think they were only given 3 weeks notice so had no real chance to plan anything. They also looked at pressed bales of hay,but that was more expensive than a crane. And maybe the bales degrade whereas containers are just given back to their owners. It all comes down to a woman who has complained for over ten years about the noise and i think as nothing has been done the local authorities stamped down.Pocking were hoping that they would turn a blind eye this once and then get working for the future.Lets hope this gets sorted out in time for next year. As to the oldest competition, you could well be right. The Baltic Cup(Ostseepokal)was started in 1968.I think the Bergring meeting in Teterow might be older(just checked and 1958),but that is Grass Track.Wasn't Kelvin Tatums dad the first or one of the first winners?
-
Yes,it has been cancelled. There have been complaints about the noise. The speedway club have been told they cannot hold speedway meetings without a 10 metre high wall to block the noise. They were planning on having a 40 metre long "wall" of containers that would be taken down after the meeting. These were to be provided free of charge by local companies. The thing is the containers needed to be stacked 3 high and the hire of a crane to do the job is far too expensive.Plus they can't be sure that the ground could safely take the weight of it all

Never been to Wolfslake.Hope to make it this year with the new competition, but i know what you mean about Güstrow.Boy is that stuff black! Hope you enjoy yourself wherever you end up.And if you go to Neuenknick don't forget to give us your thoughts on the meeting and the track Seems Kjastas Puodzuks is the rider for Güstrow that isn't named. Also replaces Pawel Hlib in the Osterpokal
-
Well here is the line-up.Not sure if you think it is worth it GSF is the only one so far to have seen the new format, with the U19 heats and all.Never been to Neuenknick so can't say what the track is like, although from what i have heard it isn't one of the best and is made of some red shale that gets everywhere and stains the skin and your clothes I thought about going a few years ago,ran up the contact number and asked about the nearest train station, etc and the guy didn't know anything Wanted to go last year and the weather was bad(it was rained-off after 12 heats and they were just run so the result could be officially used).I am just in the process ofgetting a new bike so won't be going this year either. In all honesty the way the Bundesliga is looking i might even give the Brokstedt meeting a miss and go to the Euro Quali at Stralsund instead, which is something i would never have contemplated before
-
Well to answer the first point. The riders we are refering to are really below Polish 2 division level. That is why the only chance they have are the Dutch meetings and Danish 2nd Division, plus whatever junior meetings or the B + J licence heats some clubs run alongside their main meeting.Güstrow for instance will be running a B-licence competition alongside the Osterpokal on saturday. On the second point.I don't know.I asked this a couple of years back on the German forum, when i saw this starting.Got no answer. In general you get the answer that team v team competition is a no no in Germany.Güstrow tried it without much success, joining the Danish superliga. Now that the 3 breakaway clubs here in the north are trying their own competition i guess the others like Diedenbergen might be watching with interest how it goes.As i said there is a chance of expanding this into another International competition and one Polish club is already said to be interested. One problem that has been stated is that German speedway is less club orientated,so there are not hundreds and hundreds of Teterow fans and the same amount of Stralsund fans. There are big traditional individual meetings where maybe 5,6,7or 8 thousand fans will turn up,but for a Bundesliga meeting it is more likely to be 1,2 or 3 thousand.Generally at the lower end.Would clubs be willing to put on 7 or 8 home league meetings per season? Most probably wouldn't.They would rather 2 or 3 plus a couple of their big individual meetings. And the other clubs are happy to put on no more than 1 or 2 meetings per year. I think Martin Smolinski was angry a few years ago as he said it was suggested that the Bundesliga would go team v team rather than the 4tt comp.It never happened.
-
I did hear this.I asked a friend at Brokstedt either if you were riding or why you were not riding in a meeting at Nordhastedt and was told you were angry that you were not asked. But i thought that was just the one meeting,i didn't realise it went on like that for a number of years!
-
It is a shame the way the Bundesliga has gone in the last few years even.In 2005 i saw some great meetings(Ludwigslust + Güstrow for instance). The one problem then was the constant change of teams line-ups.From one meeting to the next teams like Güstrow were completely different, but it was great to see Hefe up against Gjedde,Slabon,Risager, etc. But last year cutting back on foreign riders while promoting U21 riders who were not ready made for a big gap in standards. But from the 1 2.Bundesliga meeting i saw at Brokstedt it was the same there.Total chaos with the Teterow team only turning up with 4 riders and they only managed to get a single point. And that was because of engine failure from one of the other riders,i think.Again there were 3 or 4 riders far better than the rest.Wölbert,Pudel,Kasperek... It seems now the only real chance of getting enough meetings in is to turn to the Danish 1st or 2nd Division.I see Matze,Erik Pudel and Steffen Mell will be riding in the 1st Division while riders like the Seefeld Bros and Arne Ledwig will be in the 2nd Division. The other alternative is Holland. But i do see Norden are planning something for the youngsters.Here.And of course the work and meetings they put on at Nordhastedt are vital,as i'm sure Henning knows. They always put on a good number of competitions with international riders of various levels. The thing i can't understand is why clubs like Diedenbergen can't put on their own junior meeting?I think Brokstedt are still planning one.But i do find it terrible when clubs that develope their own youngsters can't then use them in their team. Just one question GSF.How were the U19 heats:Were they more exciting than the main heats? Were the riders of the same or very different standards?
-
Yes i know.Don't you just hate it when that happens. And they are advertising live updates from next weeks meeting from Neuenknick as well.Saying "tell everyone about it". Meeting should be over by now Results now on the link Diedenbergen 42 Brokstedt 32 Landshut 26 Neuenknick 25 Good to see Matze back to his form of a couple of years back. And of course keeping an eye on Kevin.Beat Kolenko twice, plus ahead of Magosi,Hefenbrock and Katt

Basically says the were within a hairs breadth of pulling out of the Bundesliga. The SVG decided very late(December) to drastically reduce the team building limit from 38 to 30 points and scrap the 2.Bundesliga.This was to help the teams from Southern Germany enter, but penalised the existing teams.Diedenbergens team plans were thrown into the bin because of it.It meant their great youth policy, which had seen them win the 2.Division for the last 3 years was for nothing as they had to release some of their top riders like Max Dilger and Rudi Swoboda."A joke,an absurdity" said boss Ziller with the anger clearly showing in his face. It also meant the 10 year long relationship with the Dryml brothers has had to be broken as they are assesed at 14 points each. There is resistance forming against the SVG and they hope in the next year new people will be elected with new ideas otherwise speedway will continue downwards. Not sure what the next bit is with Robbie Kessler. They hope maybe to use him near the end of the season, but maybe just a mistake why they mention Oxford and not Stoke Not happy that the 2.Bundesliga was srapped as this means their first meeting of the season(today) will also be their last of the season. Must just add that in the German Track mag it did say that Olching were hoping to use Jurica Pavlic or Andrew Appleton whenever Martin Smolinski couldn't do a meeting.Which in the case of young Pavlic would be great

Live updates from Diedenbergen Starts 13:00 British time Also a very interesting article about the club and it's views on the new look Bundesliga. How the club nearly packed it in HereIn German Or translated(not by me )but by a web thingy MSC with large problems before the start Of the 30.03.2007 DIEDENBERGEN (jo) - the Speedway-Mannschaftsmeister MSC Diedenbergen ninefold German wants to be celebrate in the next year 50-year-old existence. For 35 years that has gone tradition united out of the small Hofheimer quarter in the first national league. Around a hair, it would not have come to this anniversary, for the busy society with the probably best new generation working in German Speedway-landing wanted to explain in December its resignation out of the national league. "The decision was certain already practically to 100 percent. First after long negotiations with association, sponsors and our drivers and after three board meetings until respectively late into the night in we have let ourselves once again breitschlagen to venture once again an attempt", MSC-boss Ziller declared Wolfgang on a press conference at the late Monday evening. Now yet yet the starting shot fells on Sunday (14 o'clock) Speedway-Mannschaftsmeisterschaft in the organization-specific Rhine-Main-stadium with the season opening course of the German. Next to the vice master MSC Diedenbergen, the MSC Brokstedt, the SC new kinks and the German record master go AC country hat (climber out of the II. League) at the start. What happened was? "The Speedway-organizer-company, shortly SVG named, threw very late in December our entire personnel plannings and also that of the remaining societies over the pile and the Average-points (comment: The estimation points) for the single societies of 38 points drastically on 30 points shortened. Through it probably the previously dominating societies should weakened and the south german societies strengthened become. We had to shift our team totally and mixed deliver even our own talents how Dilger to the league contractor Pfaffenhofen and Rudi Swoboda after new kink. A joke, an absurdity", stood written Ziller the wrath clearly in the face. Show both Czech brothers Ales and Lukas Drmyl, the alone per driver approximately 14 estimation points based on its international experiences, can go so no longer for Diedenbergen. Since over a decade went both Top-pilot for the MSC. In the future a foreigner may start also only per team (six drivers). The second league, in which Diedenbergen got three times finally the title in sequence, was painted replacement loose of the SVG. "35 drivers stand on the street. For years the societies have become of the SVG, that Diedenbergen listened to no longer, gegängelt. Now resistance against the SVG forms, I hope in the next season for new people at the tip and fresh wind. Otherwise it goes are with the Speedwaysport very quickly downward, that reality strange and no longer understandable steps", meant equipped Ziller, for years one of the leading functionaries on More european plain and with large reputation in many societies and associations. Next to both Drymls, Dilger and Svoboda, also Robert Kessler (comes perhaps at the season end to the use, otherwise in Oxford) fell out of the vice master team. Of the "stood" drivers" only Thomas pole in the team remained. Its father Hans-Werner pole resigned after three-year engagement as a sporting leader out of "professional reasons". Its successor under general conditions very heavy now is crossed Markus, a Diedenbergener "own plant". The further drivers of the MSC-team new totally are the Hungarian national team driver Norbert Magosi (30), that Rene Deedens first 16-year-old junior (out of that "unemployed second MSC-team), Tobias Gaevert (Ludwigslust) and the second junior driver Domingo Krecklow out of wolf sheet. Altogether seven teams go at the start, each team is three times race free. The best four teams challenge in October the finale in the preliminary victor. After the present state of the things, the first race is therefore on Sunday already the last home race in this season because it gives now also no two league races more. How should a society come there on its costs? "The rule modification should strengthen totally is covered the weaker societies, but the reduction of the Averagepunkte. And where does the new generation should then there?", asked itself not only Ziller. The budget had to be sunk to by 40000 Euros 25000 Euros. "Many of our sponsors are after the forced departure some of our Top-drivers jumped off, we are on every spectator directed", so press officer Ronald abundance. The prices of admission remain constant. In the last years, there was a rule modification in unsightly regularity always. Some societies join in the "circus" no longer, the four East German Topvereine Paching (entirely stopped), Teterow, wolf sheet and Stralsund go in an own league and turned towards the German championship the back. May one be strained how the "tug of war" ends between the SVG and some of the yet remaining remained societies? The losers could be the Speedwaysport and the new generation.....

Can i just ask. What are these averages for the Bundesliga? How are they worked out as they don't appear to relate to anything official.Obviously we don't have anything other than assesed averages. -

Plenty going on.You are though more in Grasstrack/Longtrack country. But Neuenknick for the Bundesliga meeting should be good. And 5th May in Moorwinkelsdamm for the Master of Speedway is also a highlight of the season.

Fixture list and list/map of tracks Here I had the same problem when i moved over.Had heard of some tracks, but had no idea where they were.Thought most were way down in Bavaria

Yes a tale of "what might have been" i guess. If only Franky had a proper season.Good to see some young prospects from this side of Europe coming along.Ivanov quite frankly didn't really look like winning the title though once he came here.Did say i thought Vitali would win,but maybe like Günther said on the tv clip,in the big finals you have to favour Nikolai.Bit of news about Johnny Tunstra. He has been moved to a hospital in Heerenveen. Not sure how long he will be there, but at least his injuries are not as bad as some thought There will be "live updates" on speedway.org from Erfurt today at 13:00 British time See they have already had the quali heats.Franky naturally though.Niedermaier and Sven Holstein didn't make it!
-
That's right Parsloes. After all in some countries it is called Ice Speedway and there is a history of riders competing in both sports. At the moment young Danil Ivanov and Gregori Laguta for instance.Plus i see that Klabo is to compete in the Czech Longtrack Championship. There are even leagues and Team competitions Parsloes.

Maybe a case of someone wanting to earn some easy money.I gather it is quite common for instance to be stopped by the police and have to pay an on the spot fine, before you can resume your journey
