  1. Looks like a different looking Rebels for 2014 with if rumours are right of Alex not being included and Josh now going to Worky. I wonder if Todd Kurtz and Olly Allen both following the club on Twitter recently are any clues? I would guess that Doyley will be back now to lead the troops again. I certainly hope so!
  2. Cannot see Nielsen coming back as the change Garry May made, i think, had a lot to do with the Rebels becoming League Champions and possibly even being the KO Cup Winners. Stefan did improve his average yes but was poor away from home and you never really knew if he was going to complete the race or not, when he did finish at home yes he was good but Wrighty was a different class home, away and ultra reliable. I would like to see as many as possible retained as from getting to know a few of the riders during this year i can assure the team spirit was amazing, especially at the business end of the season. With a bit of 'May magic' added why can't the bulk of the same riders retain the League?
  3. Is that not Nick's 4th PL winners Medal on the bounce? Thats impressive!
  4. Congratulations to all involved at Somerset from the riders, officials, sponsors, trackstaff and other helpers in whatever shape or form but most of all to the Hancock family who made all this happen! Somerset Cases Rebels 2013 Premier League Champions!
  5. Just hope the golf range next door survives as well! Didn't i read that he is in hospital with a broken shin bone and had an op which must make him a bit more than very doubtful. Think its R/R for Joe, who i wish all the best to and hope he gets well soon.
  6. I can assure you that no sheep are ever in the car park fields any more as the gates to the A38 are open most of the day and night. I will agree that the food is superb at the Oaktree. I am also happy to provide weather updates from 10am until about 3pm next Monday ** as i am due at work on site next door to the track. PM me and i will let you have a number to call/text. ** subject to Mrs Drew not deciding that our son should be born that day.
  7. Obviously you never seen this Rebels side race at home then! Got to be joking with only 11 points from Alex and Wrighty combined at the OTA, more likely to be closer to double that figure. Either Josh or Nick will have more than 10 from 5 rides i would expect as well. Sneddon may score 6 if he remembers his stabilzers, think he had a coconut last time he came to Somerset so unlikely i fear. I think we may have Lewis Rose back at reserve as well for both legs. Must admit the weather forecast doesn't look good for Monday. Never ever going to happen as the season won't be extended. Edinburgh must have the option of Friday, Saturday or Sunday to get their leg in as Somerset have got Monday til Thursday onwards avaialble for the second leg (as specially agreed by the local council following the refusal from the opposition to allow their usual Friday race night to be used). I know Doyley (on the 5th i think) and probably a few others already have flights booked back to Oz in first few days of November that i sure won't be changed. Oh dear Starman, obviously not a local to Somerset and the Burnham on Sea area then. Can anyone remind me of what is happening in Somerset from November 2nd in Bridgwater and arrives in Burnham on Monday the 4th November??? CARNIVAL SEASON! Roads are closed all around BOS and Highbridge from early evening that day including the main A38 outside the track between 6.30ish and midnight. Even if the roads were open the promotion would never in their right mind try and run against that.
  8. No you don't seem to realise that we only have so many off nights each year and they have been used up i think. Time to play ball, surely in this situation the league winners should have seniority!
  9. Well said Tim! Thanks to all for the information tonight in whatever form.
  10. Unlikely as i think we might have run out of 'off race nights'. Must be there turn to change nights this time.
  11. Following @Gazettespeedway on Twitter seems to work as well.
  12. Thanks for that as can't believe there aren't any updates tonight! Redcar forum doesn't want to work either for me.
  13. The club have used all the dates available for off nights already this year I believe with the cup replay against Edinburgh being the last thing they wanted to have to run. A big thank you from me to all who played in/attended or just helped for the golf day yesterday. I think a great day was had by all and the Air Fence Fund moved nicely in the right direction as well! I am sure Statman will issue the exact amount raised in his press relaese in the next few days.
  14. Weather looks set fair for tomorrow so hopefully it will be a great day for the Rebels Golf Day raising funds for the Air Fence Fund and then a great evening of racing in the KO Cup Final 1st leg. Hope everyone enjoys both events. Oh why can't everything be as simple as it seems in Oldtimer's world! Don't think this is through choice but necessity of dates running out.
  15. You can't stand in the way of up and coming riders representing their country. It is a shame they aren't going to be there but i am sure it will attract a big crowd, even bigger if you attend OT!I think the dates issue at this stage of the season was a deciding factor. Quite possibly, hadn't thought of that. Think you hit the nail on the head there! I would expect the Rebels to be too strong at home for the Rockts even without Nick and Alex. With R/R for Nick Doyley can take an extra ride also.
  16. Its on our website now. http://www.somersetrebels.co/homepage Will be R/R for Nick and a guest for Alex I think.
  17. Just added a little bit extra to the golf day that has! I'm sure you have a great guest already lined up for Alex? Doyley isn't i believe.
  18. Job done for the Rebels. I guess now Alex is a year older he has found a way of getting around Armadale!
  19. Looks pretty good to me Najjer! Not sure Cookie could guest for Lewis though?
  20. Strange sort of meeting as the racing wasn't great but the scoreline kept it exciting. Rebels definitely missed Doyley and looked out of it after ht 12 but this Rebels team never knows when it is beaten and pulled the win out the fire yet again in 2013. Ipswich look a very solid side, making some great gates tonight and we may well meet again i reckon. Captain Alex was superb throughout and got an early 21st birthday present for tomorrow with The Rebels topping the table. Josh was slow to start with but came up with big wins in hts 13 and 15 when it mattered, think he enjoyed ht15! Alex and Charles rode an awesome race to keep Lanham at bay in ht 14 to put the Rebels in the lead for the first time. Kyle has probably never tried as hard for just 5 points, if effort was rewarded in points then he would have easily doubled that score. Anders did ok but didn't really look quick enough whilst Daryl was dropped in the deep end against two good reserves for his PL debut. Heeps was superb for the Witches as was Lanham plus the reserves at separate times. Surprised to see Tungate and not Lanham in ht 15 as well. Risager was poor and although he tried he never really looked like making a pass stick. So Rebels finish top of the League and have another Trophy for their cabinet, lets hope it is not the last one they get in 2013. Roll on Wednesday.
