British Grand Prix 2012

Is Hans doubtful now as well as he tweeted that the Paramedic thinks he may have broken his elbow in his crash in Denmark on Wednesday. Who is next after KK? -
Somerset V Berwick Friday 17th Aug.
drew2 replied to Brooksy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If they had the foresight to fit a brush to Aspegren's dirt deflector in the last race he could have cleaned the kickboards at the same time. Awesome ride but i think he wanted a bigger track! I actually missed Wrighty getting by Robson as I was watching the front two. Considering the rain that hit the track on Thursday and Friday morning Ez and his team produced a great track for racing. Wrighty is getting that motor he used serviced for next Friday so i hope it comes back just as good if not better as he looked superb last night. Doyley was that good I hardly noticed he was there as he came within half a wheel of a paid max. Jesper was solid as was Alex, as he always seems to be lately. Sarjeant and Wilko gave full effort for which they should be applauded but we did miss Kyle and Tom at reserve and their scoring power. R/R for Sam didn't bring us as many points as he would have had i reckon either. Another 3 points though for the Rebels and back to the top of the League. For Berwick Robson, Bellego and Alden may have only scored 5 each but if effort was rewarded that tally would have been doubled for each of them. Dyer's score flattered him as he only beat reserves and his team mates but if that was the first meeting back then he will be a good signing. Aspegren was excellent after his first ride blip and is spectacular to watch. I guess he will be a man in demand next season. Jakobsen looked woeful and i can't see him being in the team much longer, not the rider he was. The only downside to Berwick is Dick Barrie. I pity the Berwick fans who have to put up with that each week, 2 minutes of him last night was too much for me! -
Thanks. It is just i am on the Island for a week at the end of May and upon checking the IOW fixtures i see that week i venture over there they don't have a fixture ! Maybe this one might be re-arranged for that week? Stoke are quite an attractive NL side from the look of things so wouldn't be adverse to going along.

Do they have a new date for this meeting yet?
-
Still reckon any 3 of Somerset's top 4 of Masters, Doyle, Vissing and Wright top that trio. Not forgetting also that the Rebels have Alex and Kyle as soild back up both home and away whilst Tom finds his feet in the PL.

And a fair bit around it!!

Greg Hancock World Champion
drew2 replied to Dogstar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well Done Greg, best rider by a long way this year. How long before the next one? In another 14 years you will only be a few years older than Jan O Pedersen is now! -
It will be off as it might rain that day!

Thanks for the red button trick, perfect! Didn't go away today as planned as my daughter was unwell but will try again tomoorrow as she is feeling much better now. Got to see the GP though so every cloud and all that!

Brilliant, I am away on Saturday and you can't record it off the red button!! Don't you just wonder what you pay them for sometimes?

Swc Race Off Confirmed Line Ups
drew2 replied to Robbie B's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Should probably re-name it Cornwall after tonight! -
Maybe it hasn't anything to do with Steve Ribbons but the people at the BSPA saw the name 'Coventry' connected with the application and said they aren't allowed in! The BSPA and Coventry certainly don't go together this Winter do they.

Well Done to Tomasz Gollob on becoming World Champion at last. Can't believe SKY were saying it was undecided as Gollob would never record 5 0's around Bydgoscz. Now he has won what are the commentators going to go on about now? Did I hear it right and the track announcer gave the result of ht 22 a good 2 minutes before SKY diclosed it? I may have to listen back to that but I am sure I heard 'Chris Harris 2 points, Jaroslaw Hampel 1 point' in the background. Awesome performance by Bomber and just about secured what he said he was worthy of, a top 8 spot. Why is it every time Bomber gets on the rostrum Hancock is always there as well? Is he stalking him or what? Congratulations to Crumpie as well as he is far from fully fit with his left arm being almost useless so I have been told from a reliable source. Hope the op after the final round goes well and we see a 100% fit Crumpie back battling for the top spot in 2011. SKY didn't seem to mention that Jason has now finished in the top three in the world every year since 2001, 10 consectutive campaigns, some acheivment JC. Onto some of the worst now with Grodzki somehow still being allowed to take control of any speedway meeting let alone a GP. Must be the worst ref ever or he just continually forgets his opticians appointments! The worst rider ever to grace a GP award must go to Crapanese. Has he finished ht 20 yet? Would still have been half a lap behind the rest at a smaller venue like Cardiff.

U21 World Team Cup - British Team Selection
drew2 replied to RPNY's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Was that as exciting as it got? A high speed procession!(can't find a yawning smiley!) I suppose it was all that could be expected when the FIM or whoever allocate the meeting to a track devoid of shale and a reputation for being just that. I'm glad that Ole Olsen didn't get invovled in the track prep because couldn't it have got any slicker could it? -
They have done before Shadders as I believe both Mick Posselwhite and Tony Steele have had use of said box on GP night in Cardiff.

You should all be very happy next year as I was inside the Millenium Stadium today on business and can report much activity was going on. I am pleased to report that two new HD screens are being put in place at each end of the Stadium replacing the old ones and a new PA system and speakers were being hoisted up into the roof. The back straight speakers had been mostly done and the start finish straight had the speakers on the ground waiting to be put into place. From reading the posts above the Millenium Stadium have been true to their word and upgraded the equipment and at great expense so I was told. The odd thing was that since the speedway was there I am not sure they have had any events as the pitch wasn't in place but the outline of where the shale had been could still be seen clearly, looked just like Olsen likes it ! The other bad thing was that the company I was dealing with have a double size hospitality box right above the start/finish line but the problem is the ref uses it for the GP so that spoilt my ideas of sneaking in on GP night!

Didn't really see what Scott did wrong in the last re-run. THJ tried turning left but Scott was there as he had every right to be. THJ turned left well before the corner so where was Scott meant to go, the centre green? After that it was just a racing incident as THJ had his shoudler under Scott's arm so it was always going to end in the way it did. I am certainly not a big Scotty fan either but the slating he has received on this thread from some quarters is unreasonable in my opinion.

Last nights result certainly proved one thing, which 'energy drink' is more successful! One brand had three riders on the podium whilst the other needs some 'wings' to get off the bottom rungs of the leaderboard i think! -
You could try some of these Leoni. http://www.burnham-on-sea.com/hotels.shtml
