  1. Not the best of meetings due to the succession of 5-1 's, shortly after the first bend usually. I am NOT a Fisher fan, but after his last outing here, he has at last learned how to ride Brough. Tonight he was a lone shining light, plus a subdued Gathercole to a lesser degree, and the only excitement on the track was when he was involved, especially the superb heat 9. Hard fair and fast racing. Yes, at Brough Park to anyone from that new grippy track known as Worky. 3 easy points with a poorish crowd, no doubt due to the absence of Barker. Nice to see a decent assembly of Plymouth supporters, and oh how we can sympathise their plight, attending their speedway but bitterly despising the person they were giving their money too. Let's hope what is in the offing comes to fruition and a decent leadership and promotion is installed that their fans trust and can believe in. On your way Mike but you should never have been allowed to promote in the first case. To allow you to continue this year was one of the BSPA's greatest mistakes this year at the last AGM. Here's hoping next year can see you copy the fortunes of Leicester this year.
  2. I would refer you to my post#49 which woud be the reasons why it is not in the 20-12 Rule book. NB Also see the post#58 from Catch Me If You Can.
  3. That's what I understood. Due to the shortage of available riders, and the huge backlog of fixtures in England, there has been a relaxation of the rules to give teams more options to agree a fixture.
  4. Yep, the assembled masses at Brough know what racing needs, and that is a bit of grip. That's not the thing in your hair, like.
  5. Looks like the weather is good on Sunday so we should be holding a training school at 1.00pm till 2.30pm. If you have your own gear bring it, and if not then make sure you wear a strong pair of boots/shoes. Should be good, it's FREE, so get yourself there you Diamonds fans.
  6. After last night poor result and performance, maybe Saturday will bring more joy as we go hunting for points. Much will depend on Berwick's guests but the performances of the reserves, especially the senior one Ned, will be what decides who gets the points. Great £10 offer from the Berwick promotion for this meeting so lets hope the travelling Diamonds fans attend in their masses and get behind the team to try and take all the points.
  7. Ring the number, say late at night, and the operator will book your seats for you. Been very helpful twice with me so far, and I got through in about 2 minutes with less traffic at night time.
  8. And your solution is ...... Speedway has injuries due to the nature of the sport.
  9. We won there a couple of years ago Dan, with Lemo getting a 15 point max. Sheffield is in a troubled season, and this could be our best chance to get a result there. If every Diamonds rider hits some form we could get a decent result. Here's hoping.
  10. Berwick has nearly always had decent passing around the outside of the second bend, and even more dramatic passing off the forth bend like a slingshot. I remember even Willie overtaking there against us despite his usual line. Need a bit of bottle mind on the 4th to do it.
  11. Quite agree. Aljack's posts are guaranteed carp.
  12. Just noticed this. You can always turn it round the other, it looks quite smart too.
  13. Glad you have come around to what others have been telling you all season. It's not his fault that another rider isn't higher, and he is not responsible for the poor form and injuries to other riders. It's taken you awhile to get upto speed, but we have got you there eventually.
  14. A terrific day yesterday with 18 keen riders taking to track, a couple for the first time. One casualty, and another had a tumble, but apart from that, we saw some decent riding with a lot of improvement from some of the younger new starters. Back on on Sunday 9th September again at 1.00 till 2.30Pm
  15. It was too easy without any fight from the Rockets screm. Apart from the first heat win Pijper was very average, as I thought he would be. Certainly Mellgren got better and faster as the night went on, and would have won heat 15 had he not had a lapse of concentration and drifted alarmingly across the fourth bend and nearly into the fence. Lykke was better than his points, particularly later in the meeting. The rest did nowt. Very confident Diamond team, and I agree that Christian looks so good and balanced on a bike these days. He has a bite now, to add to his gating skills, and has even learned to fight and pass from the back now. Definately one of the success stories of the season. A very good signing as is LL, what a character. All the Diamonds rode well and, if we can continue this sort of form, we will be getting some decents wins to get us back on top of the league, and be in a great position to challenge in the playoffs for the actual title. Bring it on.
