Another part they play on track is protection. If you can get infront of Jon he will protect you till the chequered flag. They aren't all about opening the throttle they can ride bikes tactically. I've seen older riders slow races down to get junior riders through. Giving younger riders confidence and knowledge. Can't do that from the pits.

I think the latter was key. Although there are some would say it's not good to make friends with riders as when because they may underperform and need to be dumped it makes it difficult

And ..... Back in the room Most of the families I know that stop going was because in came EL and out went the fun. Kids started to get bored parents stopped going

There has been some talk EL incentives maybe these apply to Leicester to stay in the EL a couple more TV meetings and maybe riders being paid? That could do it.

3 attempts of getting to Eastbourne on a Sunday and 2 attempts scuppered (M25) by road closures and a Half Marathon. It's a nightmare not to mention night closures

Poles can ride in the PL but as all their meetings in Poland are at the weekend they don't tend to.

My apologies I think I quoted the wrong post I'll get my coat !! I do try not to get involved in discussion on here as a lot is lost in the written word. But for what it's worth I do think in terms of development JPB would have been better going to Buxton as he would be their no. 1 by now and there is a lot to be said for that. Instead he is at Res unable to overtake the main 1-5 in the averages. The usual trend is to go at red for 4 meetings then shoot to no.1. Riders should take responsibility as well and not let their heads get turned by points money especially at this level.

This argument gets an airing every 'Play Off season' . What is wrong with a will to win? Be it MDL NL PL or EL. Matt Ford gets it because he wants to win and all the EL rules are made to stop him. Drury is getting the same reputation. That is what is wrong with this country we don't admire and try to emulate the smart kid in the class we bully them because we aren't smart. I went to my kids sports days many years ago where I stood and watched them do some kind of it's a knock out because we can't allow kids to shine just in case those that don't may become insecure. No ! I wanted to watch my kids in the 100 Mtrs sprint and win or lose watch them try. Sorry end of rant
