It’s not just a case of track time. In this country the sport is a team sport and team craft is just as important as track craft. 2nd halves have increasingly become a problem because you could turn up at a track and the 2nd half gets cancelled time off work, get the bikes ready travelling to find the 2nd half is treated with complete contempt like the poor relation.

It is great news hopefully the support returns and they all pull it off 🐯steering club committee post🐯 Things are moving at west Row with a ‘steering committee’ discussing plans over the last few months and the big news is that a member of that committee has been to Aldershot and visited the headquarters of Spedeworth stock cars and had a meeting with the Managing Director Mr Deane Woods. The committee member reported that Mr Woods could not be more helpful and that there is a deal on the table for the fen tigers to race again this season. A spokesman said, ‘we will be looking for a complete community effort with everyone pulling together if we are going to pull this off, and we want to enter the NDL national trophy along with a couple of challenges with other NDL teams as we do not want to run before we can walk and an approach about entering a national competition has been made to the relevant authorities. All will be revealed at a public meeting in the stadium bar on Sunday 26th of January starting at 3.pm although please note the bar will not be open, however you are free to bring your own food and drink The spokesperson went on to say “I cannot tell you how excited we are by this turn of events as most people were contemplating the end of the fen tigers, and I sincerely hope this excitement is reflected amongst the Mildenhall speedway supporters” Regards, the steering committee. They’ve all agreed the league should focus on development so why have a team limit at all ! Surely they can all be trusted ‘to do the right thing’ ?? Or maybe not

The fact that any fan wants to walk away should be a concern ! For every one that says they are walking away there are 10 just doing it without so much as a bye or leave. this is where the problem lies with the NDL people keep trotting out this line ‘it’s only a training league’ okay then make it free. People are expected to pay good money they would like to see a return on that investment. with regards to the riders, it’s easy to belittle the league but, they take it very seriously as they want to progress but unless the powers that be stop using it as a political football and focus on making it a league that riders can be proud to be part of then the higher league clubs will carry on having to fly riders half way round the world at great cost. end of chat

You do have a point in that if a rider is injured and a replacement found but ave limit needs tweaking why not ? They did it for Edinburgh ! That’s what I’d say !

They were probably ‘told’ to get a 3 pointer but they had to prove there wasn’t one available !! Then maybe they threatened to pull out !

They will have conceded something for this to come about ! Speedway teams rarely do anything altruistically ! Maybe Poole have been involved. Is he riding for them in the CL and they do have influence

Knowing the inner workings I’m guessing Luke’s CL place is subject to him competing in the NL team ??? but like you say it’s a few extra meetings.
