  1. I assume Parsnips old fruit, that next you'll be telling us that the Wombles were robbed of the league title in 2005!
  2. Press Release issued today: BARTLETT: WILDCATS FOR SALE Weymouth Weyline Wildcats chairman Phil Bartlett today has confirmed that he wishes to step down as chairman of the Wildcats, from today [Friday 17th September] Weymouth Speedway is for sale. Anyone interested in purchasing the club can contact Bartlett on his mobile number and obviously the club will be sold for the best offer that comes forward and also for the best interests of the club to move forward and keep operating in the future. I feel it’s time that I need to take this move to concentrate more on my business’s and my personal life and quite clearly after running the club for six years it’s time to move forward and let someone else take the successes forward. We had fantastic success in 2008 in the season when we won the league and the fours, we tried to do that in 2009 but we came runners up to the team that won with half of our team from the previous season. This year we have suffered with injuries all the way through with rider unavailability it’s proved to be very difficult to find replacements for riders when injured and we’ve been glad of the successes on track. Therefore I made the decision this morning, a decision that hasn’t been taken lightly but has been ongoing for some months. I have had a couple of offers of people that have come forward, one was to take on a partnership and form a consortium to help me but it’s not the way forward after running the club on my own. Another offer has come in but nothing has been firmed up he wanted to make moves forward but nothing more has been forthcoming so therefore I have decided to put the club up for sale and stand down as chairman. Hopefully the club will continue forward and have more of the success that we have enjoyed, bringing it back to winning ways and winning the league in 2011.

  4. Give me 30 mins - still drying out! EDIT: Well maybe an "Aussie Half hour in a bar!" Be patient please!
  5. Jayne.... Would the words, "Oops, sorry pardon!" from Parsnips suffice?
  6. Can we please get one thing straight concerning why Tai Woffinden did not ride today and that is that he didn't do so because he is still very much feeling the effects of his crash on Thursday.
  7. Well done to the Heathens on their excellent fightback to victory that began with Lee Smart's tactical ride victory in heat 5. The Wightlink Islanders will be kicking themselves at losing this one though with engine problems for Danny Warwick and Tom Hill plus a fall for Nick Simmons whilst challenging for the lead in heat 11 proving costly from their point of view. John Resch deputised for the injured Brendan Johnson at reserve for the islanders.
  8. nothing broken he says but some knee damage and out for two weeks.
  9. A day of speedway at the NA - Southern Track Riders Association's latest meeting gets underway at noon - hence myself being up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday!
  10. There's a STRA meeting at noon first.
  11. I don't see why they shouldn't qualify 'Tocha' as choosing competitors for a 'World Championship' doesn't sit well with me but that's just me I suppose. I enjoyed Saturday and think I did say his full name was indeed Peter Juul Larsen at the beginning but was given to understand that the young Redcar Dane likes to be known as Peter Juul - certainly his local paper up there in the North East appear to think so to - go to: http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/north-east-sport/motorsport-news/redcar-bears/2010/08/06/juul-keen-on-full-time-redcar-bears-deal-84229-27010233/
  12. One small general point and that is how can the 2011 GP series determine next year's 'World Championship' when the participants are decided on 2010 showings both in terms of qualifying and, worse still from my perspective, being selected to take part?
  13. You never sat down ONCE Parsnips old fruit?? At YOUR age?? Who are you trying to kid? Anyway back to young Arthur and whatever form of motorcycle racing he eventually opts to plump for, he's gonna be a star!
  14. Ah but no doubt you've been sitting down all that time! And I bet you nabbed the 'comfy chair!'
  15. Tis warm enough in the officials / press box at the NA I grant you!
  16. Was a pleasure watching him ride speedway in Oz last winter too Parsnips old fruit!
  17. Crumpy has just said he reckons they might need canoes to get out of the stadium!
  18. Will be surprised if we get to see any more "racing!"
  19. Having watched the opener, you've GOT to gate I reckon!
  20. Wonders if Sedgy Snr will present Chris H and Darcy with tulips before they race at Mildura this winter?
  21. Looks like transmission from Torun just starting: http://huckenbuschspace.dbv.pl/viewpage.php?page_id=76
