CLRC 15/9/24 @ Redcar
lukeellis replied to Biffa's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Remember the Wimbledon finals years ago, never a rider pulled out, just a joke now. Geordie Gavin Parr says you will be mad to not go?But he’s not paying £32 pounds+programme for me and kids to get in!! It’s a no from me! -
Redcar (40) vs Oxford (50) - KO Cup S/F - 6/9
lukeellis replied to Bojangles's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yes I agree, most of his big scores are away. His relaxed armchair style doesn’t work at Redcar, maybe a year away on loan??If so, going to need a complete new team next year.Need a team planner who knows what they are doing!! -
Oxford vs Redcar - KO Cup S/F - 4/9
lukeellis replied to Bojangles's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Probably a 18/20 point win for Oxford, which will be more than enough to win the tie,can see them winning the second leg as well. Will put the lid on a really poor season for the Bears, started really badly and never got going. Would only keep Wright, Edwards and maybe Mulford for 2025. -

If Redcar win today, taking 3 points,we are also well in the mix.Glasgow lads won’t know if to stick or twist -
Workington Comets V Redcar Bears 03/08/24 3pm

So with Workington,Redcar and Glasgow potentially vying for the final 4th place playoff spot we have 3 Glasgow riders guesting in a Workington v Redcar match.Only in speedway!!! -
So, yet another nail in the coffin for my dwindling enthusiasm for this joke sport.Workington have raced 15 of their original scheduled 20 matches or 75%?yet are allowed to make a team change.Yet when Redcar lost a rider(Bailey)due to withdrawal we aren’t allowed to sign anyone even though at the time we had raced the same amount. Now if Workington’s qualifying for the semi of BSN counts in their allowance, that’s a hidden bonus for them?even though those matches should have taken place ages ago. Also this 75% rule might shed some light on why some teams are holding back fixtures to give themselves more time to make possible rider changes. This is not a dig at Workington, just me being disgruntled with the sport after 52 years

Redcar Bears vs Poole Pirates 19th July
lukeellis replied to lbw's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I’m a bears fan, and much as I am disappointed we lost, the best team won because they have the ruthless winning mentality,Redcar are too nice, but let’s not kid ourselves, Poole are masters of the dark arts,Foord was declared fit to race in heat 2 rerun until someone had a word in his ear, and how can you declare a tac sub in heat 11 and then just change your mind.!! But teams like Poole,Scunthorpe,Glasgow do this while the meek are left behind. -

Really funny how these clowns from Poole don’t even know the basic rules!!! Probably because they are so far up their own rrr se -

Redcar Bears vs Poole Pirates 19th July
lukeellis replied to lbw's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
At the risk of repeating myself, the Redcar vPoole fixture which is what the thread is about!! is on this date as originally set at start of season, not rearranged. This is the match I’m talking about -

This fixture has been set since fixtures came out,it is not a re-arranged fixture. -
So what are the rules on this situation?Do Redcar get a facility (guest,R/R) or are we allowed to sign someone? Not sure on the 75% of matches cut off for signings thing.
-
Track was poor again, Bears were extremely lucky tonight, middle order are average at best, but I’ll take 2 points!!
-
Yes,so they have another 28 days. Then think of something else!!
-
I presume that wasn’t a genuine comeback but a stunt to meet the ‘rode for the team this season criteria’ so the pathetic farce can be played out longer.Just another episode of this joke sport unfortunately.
-
Thinking at least 55-35,another drubbing for the Bears.
-
Both scores at a track he’s ridden a lot more than most, last Saturday he was not riding for Redcar and I was referring earlier to his league form which is what we are dealing with now.
-
Well Bailey’s last four scores of 4,5,3,and 2 means he’s riding like one.As everyone keeps saying, this year is a weaker league(38 pts)but these rolling averages give a false indication.
-
So which team do you support? Your argument is he’s young and British,so do all his points count double for that? And he rides our track really well?Scored 4 for Plymouth last season and 2 for Kent a couple of years ago. Also why have you mentioned Garrity?Off course nobody should ever entertain giving him a team place.
-
Yes ok, but it’s still not going to solve the situation, our season is over,I don’t just come on hear to whinge but the bears is my and my sons night out and we are sick of getting beat.Going back to last season we have lost I think 9 of our last 10 home matches, does anyone think that is acceptable?
-
Our season is on its backside,we needed a real dramatic change to bring back the fans hope and belief, sorry but that doesn’t quite hit the mark, season over!!!
-
His last average in this league,2023 is 4.96,not interested in some Micky mouse converted average.
-
So having come into the season under strength and way below the points limit,we sign a rider with a lower average than the one he is replacing.Surely this isn’t the only change.

Berwick v Redcar 11/05/24 Championship
lukeellis replied to Normski's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well Norman, nobody has added to your post, so here goes.Coming up today for a day and night out in Berwick with the kids, our usual yearly visit.Thankfully catching up with you and Kenny is always enjoyable because think we will be well beaten, not enjoying following the Bears at the moment.See you in the B and G !!
