  1. SGP Commission meeting in Torun this morning so shouldn't have long to wait ...
  2. RIDERS' and club merchandise is very popular in Poland ... just as soccer shirts are in the UK.
  3. ME neither but, as stated, credit where it is due...
  4. IF it was Wroclaw then it wasn't the RD but the local guys. I am no expert and on the few occasions when I actually acted as RD (SGP and SWC) I always bowed to the local guys when it came to track preparation. Was a few complaints at Cardiff from the riders as well.
  5. TRACK watering has been a bone of contention this year, especially in a bitterly cold stadium. Earlier this season, in Wroclaw, the local guys stepped in and took over track preparation.
  6. Why? If you love entertaining speedway then Bartosz is the man. Nice guy too.
  7. TERRY hasn't been involved for a while. And how do you know they don't?
  8. DON'T forget that Eurosport is or will be a very different animal under the wing of Discovery who, apparently, have access to 56 countries. That might appeal to Polish sponsors.
  9. DOUBT that, most aren't even doing Sweden next year. Some riders in Poland rumoured to be on over two grand a point plus six figure signing on fees.
  10. YOU cannot say that BT has no opposition when Eurosport are in the frame...
  11. IT is true that the BSPA declined to be involved because of the cost of mounting such an untried indoor event in a stadium the size of the then Millennium. BSI was then part of the Benfield Greig group of re-insurers and were prepared to back JP. The rest is history.
  12. THAT was before the FIM decided that like Moto GP, etc they would sell the commercial rights to the speedway World Championship. And along came John Postlethwaite ...
  13. IT probably did but there was no third party involved. The FIM determined which countries would stage a World Final and when. But like other motorcycle disciplines (Moto GP, etc) the commercial rights were later sold and the FIM banked the money.
  14. DON'T forget the World Championship is the property of the FIM not the bSPA or for that matter the ACU, who are the GB authority affiliated to the FIM.
  15. THE capacity at the NSS is what it is because they had to drastically scale back on the original plans. Hopefully, the Speedway World Cup might be back in Manchester next year.
  16. IF you prefer to believe that then fine. But you are way off. Tai will get a wild card because he is a three-times WC not because he rides under the Monster banner.
  17. YES I am. The integrity of the whole competition would be seriously jeopardised which, believe it or not, is not something that either the FIM or a world renown company like IMG would entertain.
  18. DON'T forget that BSI have to abide by availability of the stadium. This year it was late because of the Rugby World Cup... in 2020 when the rugby season returns to normal things changed again.
  19. IN all honesty I think the tracks are now "too good" in the sense that they are smooth, no ruts, and World class riders can do four laps without making mistakes. The inherent problem now is how to create an outside racing line. The track dimensions cannot change (no room) and I'm no expert but if they could introduce more banking that might help. However, I do know that it is something that is being discussed.
  20. ZERO ... wild cards are decided by the Armando Castagna, Phil Morris and a representative of BSI, usually the Managing Director but with Steven Gould fairly new to the position it could be Paul Bellamy.
  21. HUNDRED times better when you are there. Appreciate not everyone can go or afford it.
  22. OVER 4,000 up on last year ... you could tell just sitting in the stadium that it was an increase. More Poles than ever. The upper tiers were packed. Dump Cardiff? Are you mad? What other speedway event could attract that sort of crowd. It isn't just the actual racing on the day. Having the stadium slap bang in the middle of town *unlike Warsaw for example) is a huge plus. Most people there had had a fabulous time before even entering the stadium. Terrific atmosphere. The actual racing will never match Wroclaw 2019 (was there too) but what a day ...
