Will Coventry Complete The Season?
wealdstone replied to Agrotron's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The BSPA historically have shown they are very keen on self interest but not necessarily on the wider picture. -
I remember being asked re 50/50 fund. My understanding was a choice of whether It should go to Horton for causes of his choice or whether the organisers should donate to causes of their choice.
-
Does anybody seriously believe that Coventry will ever return to Brandon???
-
I sincerely hope your confidence in the supremo( shortly to be re named the messiah) will not turn out to be in vain.
-
I remain very concerned as long as MH is at the helm
-
All will be pleased that a solution has been found albeit a short term one. A definite date or commitment for a return to Brandon is a must otherwise it will be a financial disaster and it will all have been for nothing.
-
Can't believe you asked that either!!!I Blindingly obvious I would have hoped
-
Can't believe you found it necessary to ask that question!!!!! That was how Speedway used to be run. Bikes and riders ready for next race as riders from preceding race returned to the pits.
-
They manage not to have an interval when it suits their purpose. Did not need an interval until end of meeting at heat 13 when they had second halves. Of course portaloos on centre green is an obvious option.
-
Plenty of time between races, sure bogs and tea available in pits at most tracks
-
What we do not know is whom the meeting is between, or what it is about for that matter !!. Could be about continued use of Brandon or move to Leicester.
-
This little light hearted exchange shows the divergence in opinions. IMO number 1 priority is riders safety and number 2 is the paying public.
-
I agree there seems little point in intervals these days, and the interminable delay between heats 14 and 15 on a freezing cold night is not fan friendly . In many cases I get the feeling that once you are in the Stadium little regard is given to those that have paid to come in. Burning the midnight oil with fans forefront in their minds as always.
-
As I and others have said before the root of all this stems from the winter of discontent when Sandhu and Frost realised that in Speedway the BSPA mafia reign supreme.
-
Horton falls out with just about everybody at some time!!
-
What a total shambles this all is!! The whole future of British Speedway is teetering in the balance yet those in charge continue show an arrogant disregard for those they expect to pay their money at the turnstiles,
-
I really do not see that the situation is any more clear than it ever has been.
-
I know but "a rose by any other name"
-
Oxford and Horton is not a happy mix.
-
I do not know what the current situation is but I was told some time ago when the future of Coventry became tenuous that the plan was to move to Leicester albeit on a temporary basis.
-
You may well be right , but normally this is just an excuse to say nothing when there is either nothing to say or those involved don't have any idea what to say.
-
I really hope so but this is Speedway , the Supremo and the BSPA a highly toxic mix.
-
I hope for a positive outcome but since Buster opted for the 30 pieces of silver during winter of discontent I remain sceptical.
-
Seem to me there is a lot more that needs investigating here than the disputed ownership of fixtures and fittings. IMO None of the parties involved come out of this with any credit including bspa
-
The root of this problem stems back IMO to winter of discontent when Ford and BSPA decided to carry out reprisals for Coventry winning the league. That is when Sandhu realised that there was no future. Sold things to Horton hoping his unblemished record of failure would bring things to a speedy conclusion. Unfortunately from his perspective Horton did not fail as quickly as anticipated.
