  1. I wouldn't worry too much about that; some people may have indicated attending and then elected not to. I think the important thing is that the BSPA were prepared to sit down with those who attended and discuss a range of topics with fans who care about Speedway. Would not have bothered me had I gone and sat down with them on my own; its that I was able to have that opportunity sets Speedway apart from practically any other sport. I mean just imagine trying to get round a table with the bosses of the FA Premier League !. Sounds like there was lots of passionate debate and I am sure those attending on both sides took at least something away from it; and as OleOleOle has done share it with others. It was not just a fans forum; as there was also constructive dialogue with rider representatives before hand. So full marks to Chairman & Vice Chairman for coming up with this; and bet next season more of us will be in attendance. Far too much cynicism and negativity; for goodness sake Speedways back in a month; New National Stadium and some good young riders coming through the training tracks; lets be positive and work with a lot of good that exits in our great sport to move forward together. It is not how many turned up; the point is that everyone of us was given the chance to apply get round the table with the Speedway Controllers (subject to 300). That's the point ! it don't matter if one person turned up it is not meant to be indicative of the number of us who care about the sport. Sure everyone on here cares about speedway otherwise you would go to a Lacross forum or something.
  2. Nice bit of inter-track co-operation and consideration for the travelling fans. Hope the Glasgow GP Army get behind it and swell the crowd July 10. Fans will be buzzing from the GP and should round off a great Speedway weekend in style at the EWR.
  3. Could do; but Josh and Zeddy are effectively 1 and 2 in our averages; so are you allowed to pair them ?. Might be wrong ?
  4. How should we line up 1-7 at the start of the season ?. If the heat format I am looking at is the right one - Speedway Plus Prog Generator. I would line us up 1. Josh A 2. Klindt 3. Ryan 4. Alex 5. Zeddy 6.Wilko 7.Josh B That way we hit the ground running in Heat1. Josh B pairs with Wilko -Ht2 6; Zeddy- Ht5; Klindt- Ht8 and Ryan- Ht12 - assuming he takes his four rides?. Josh gets plenty of experienced covered in three heats and Zeddy has plenty of track craft to help out Josh. Ryan and Alex get three rides as a pair Ht3-5 and 9 to capitalise on a bit of Aussie spirit ! Zeddy pairs with Wilko-Ht7; and again in Ht11; finally with Josh A-Ht13 We have Alex and Wilko in Ht14 who you can stick your lot on them to give it a go and set us up for Ht15. So if I have the right heat formulae here; I would set up from the off as outlined.
  5. Nicolai Klindts season fixture seem to be confirming that he has no Scunthorpe commitments at this stage beyond Somerset away on 19 April.
  6. One slight concern I have is the 3pointers going into turns one and two; there might be more than a few "hairy moments" if they get the idea of getting stuck in without the necessary experience. Might be fine if they get out the gate; but if they don't (and most will miss it) then if they come together on turn one two; and decide to shut their eyes and hope; it could all go pear shaped. I do not mean to underestimate the 3pointers clearly everyone has to learn sometime; and some the hard way. Theres a bit of difference between winning races in the NL and then stepping up to race at PL level. But good luck to all the guys; it will be interesting watching them go about their racing this season.
  7. Andreas Lyager is in the same Częstochowa squad as Nicolai Klindt in the Polish League; so again it will depend how Częstochowa intend to use Andreas. He definitely has it in him to be one of the next up and coming Danish riders; just think back to how quickly he sized up the EWR in his limited appearances last season. When Nicolai's Częstochowa commitments kick in the management will need to make a decision and I suppose someone like Andre Compton might be in mind ?; But for me Andreas deserves a chance to prove we have another great young rider in our midst.
  8. Just reading all this; for gods sake lets keep political correctness out of speedway. Speedway for obvious reason ls aint inclusive and it aint diverse but it definitely is Race-ist! Long may it remain so.
  9. Read Tay's words in this weeks Speedway Star; you have to say if your in a frame of mind that makes you doubt yourself in this game it is best to stick your hand up. Absolute respect to him for his honest assessment of where he is with his recovery from previous bashes and where he see's himself in life. Plus the benefit of his fathers history with injury and no doubt some sound words of advice. Cannot be anything worse than having all our expectations on his shoulders at the starting gate; and thinking "hell can I cut it?" No way not in this game; lines too fine; we all know only too well. You cannot have self doubt for one second. For me as for Tay; if am not willing to give it all I've got - I'm best off outer here ! Nice piece from Nicolai as well; sounds to be preparing well for his return to the Elite and early season stint for us. I am confident he can get us out the blocks with some good numbers on his race card.
  10. Won't be many taking points away at the EWR this season sparky !
  11. Weak ?; don't see how you arrive at that analysis I would say Scunny look one of the more capable outfits. A fit Josh Auty and Ryan Douglas; Alex Davies starting on a level with the rest of them; and add Nicolai Klindt. All should up their averages. Zdneck Holub looked a strong rider with quality machinery; he will not be making up the numbers. Carl Wilkinson is arguably the best No6 in the League and will challenging to move up the order. Josh Bailey ? like all the NL fast trackers we have to see how they cope. But I have a hunch that JB is going to be one of the better ones. So weak ?; no not for me I fancy us I really do.
  12. Decisive action from the management in my opinion. We are getting a rider we know well it should see us off to a good start. Nicolai is on a false average and in a relatively young team he will be an experienced head to have around. It may be shorter term but then again that had been the intention with Theo and he ended up being the cornerstone of the 2015 team. Averages are bound to come into it and if Nicolai's Polish ride means him stepping out then we may have the means to make another change. Andreas Lyager would be in my thinking for sure. Its an astute sensible move; probably not an inexpensive one either. But if we mean business in 2016 we mean business and we obviously do. Welcome back Nicolai and well done Rob and the team.
  13. To be fair I am with Taylor on this; you cannot come half way round the world half hearted about it or unsure. Its a fine line with this sport as we all know; and you are in it 100% (and even at that!) but certainly any less and it can bite back you back. So no; if he's not got that 100% desire I admire him for his honesty at this stage; and wish him all the very best for the future. This way we know now and can plan accordingly; I am sure that the management will be working hard to bring in a good replacement. As Rob has said; we might look back on this as being a key sign post along the road to achieving our ambitions in 2016. right then that's the end of that then cheers ..back to me Bumper Book of available speedway riders!
  14. NBT; this is just a bit of guidance for folks at this stage Not that theres something concrete with Rasmus Jensen just now. Sure management know about him; so my inference is get along to Rasser Racing; and look at his PL record and 5.92 ave; easy to see there is a quality option here.If his commitments allowed?; someone has said he has a Polish ride so may be an issue?. But he could step up to heat leader and be just the difference ?
  15. Disappointed over Tay Tay Racing ? Then get yourself along to Rasser Racing and cheer up!https://www.instagram.com/rasser_racing/ https://www.instagram.com/p/2Y71w9HVHa/
  16. Always rated Aspregen and on a suprisingly low average. Rides the EWR well; but more I look at it more Rasmus Jensen looks good value on 5.92 and can add to that. He's a second string that could breakout into a heat leader. Rebels credited him with lifting them end of season and was an excellent addition to their team for the run in.
  17. Just thinking rationally here and given the various if buts and maybe some names through up (including some I have thrown in) Rasmus Jensen on 5.92 looks appealing. Came back in end of season at Rebels and posted some decent scores. Could be one who could add a 1.5pts to that average. Mmmmmmm.
  18. Ashley Birks if he decided to return to speedway. Compton for sure; dont suppose theres any leeway with his 6.61 average. Rider I would like back is Andreas Lyager.
  19. One of the great things about speedway is when you can watch it under floodlights. In the old days; the lights hit the chrome of the bikes which added a extra dimension to it. The Shay Halifax was a great venue to watch under lights; there was a real aura around the place. Remember well Carter v Penhall for the Golden Helmet; when there was going on 10000 there to watch it; box office and under lights. Real sense of drama and spectacle.
  20. One thing I would say is that he did suddenly hit a purple patch for Kings Lynn Young Stars in the NL last season. But for me I dont expect from him then anything he comes up with is a bonus really. Throws the emphasis on our No6 to win the reserves races. If you look back at NL meetings once JB hit form last season he has beaten sone of the other draft NL riders including Ellis Perks; MattyO and Wajknecht so JB may be a grower. Remember Josh Bates arrived at Scunny as a real NL prospect and was quickly found out and dropped. I dont think that the 3pt rider can be replaced unless for injury this season. I wish Josh Bailey all the best with it; but it is going to be tough for him at this level.
  21. Perfectly fair comment; I am with on that too; but tasked to come up with something; then you do I suppose; and folk can take it or leave it.
