  1. Think we setting sights too low; George Wood ?, Josh Bailey ? James Shanes. Why would we not go for a big gun NL rider Wajknecht or Ellis Perks who I say again was darned unlucky to loose out last season. All due respect but what could we expect from the first three probably not a lot. But with Zach Wajknecht or Ellis your No6 has proper back up and these two can actually finish in front of the No6. The protected Heats where the 3ptrs will race are not throw away Heats!. We can have more than a 3-3 out of it if we make the correct call now. For me its a no brainer you go for a proven NL scorer Wajknecht or Ellis Perks fit the bill.
  2. Really chuffed that Ryan is back; and working on a 3 year Visa which is reassuring. As Rob say's he's like an adopted son at Scunny Great talent Ryan; and if he stays fit; can be No1 for us; then as again as Rob points out a break through to the Elite like Brady Kurtz making the step up to Poole in 2016. Santa's been and left the Flyin man; so now we got the full set ! Turbo Triplets Flyin-Thunder & Pooley. Bonza stuff ! Happy days #lovethursdayslovescunnyspeedway.
  3. Teams are filling up fast; no one picked up Zach Wajtknecht on 3pts and he's the one for me. But I reckon our 3ptr will be the last to be revealed. Tomorrow I'm going for Ryan to complete our Australian "Holy Trinity"
  4. Mmm never said BWD and Adam Ellis were 3ptrs but point taken. Exactley it should have been dealt with in 2015. BWD cannot suddenly change status giving him a higher ave than Adam Ellis in the PL when the reverse applied in the NL. Farce. I get averages and there is some merit but when they are manipulated or actually keep riders off the track for 0.01 of a point or something then that is anti speedway. I am on the same page as new BSPA Chair Buster Chapman "four laps four riders turn left" Lets go racing !
  5. Watjknecht apart from BWD and Ellis is the pick of the NL riders heading toward PL so for me; he's the one you would try for. I agree with another post that Ellis Perks should be in the frame; he was very unlucky that injuries forced changes last season. BWD rode NL last season and that's the way it is. To have him now rated on a higher PL average than Adam Ellis will have (and Ellis has the higher NL final CMA) is farcial. If he's in the NL he's a 3ptr irrespective of his being from NZ of British grandparents; this should have been tied down last season before he became a red hot property in the NL!. Averages are anti-speedway.
  6. The 3ptr will be the key signing; with 3ptrs protected in two races; we need someone who can beat his rival 3ptr and back up our No6. Whoever gets Birminghams Zach Wajknecht has to be favourites as he has the potential to go beyond the No6 in a team in the scoring and thats the difference. Would not be suprised to see both Bradley Wilson-Dean and Wajknecht in the same team-Somerset ?. BWD farcially saddled with a 5pt average; but I reckon he can hit 7pts as a bonifiede reserve and with Wajknecht thats a real reserve pair.. So for me we get Wajknecht and we are talking serious challengers - with Josh; Ryan; Alex, Carlos, Zedi and Taylor.
  7. No Alex "The Thunder" Davies is Visa Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ! pal. What a blooming wind up by Rob and..and best of it is; he gets Alex and his Mrs in on it as well !. Classic stuff and proper use of social media to wind us all up. Never slept all night trying to reason it all out; for Gods sake ! #LoveScunnySpeedwayLoveThursdays. Made up to have The Thunder back; did not like the idea of him lining up against us next season one little bit.
  8. If you believe what you read Alex Davies on Twitter saying he needs a team place next season ! Scunny tweet back "we wish you luck". A crazy decision if this proves correct. So we sign Taylor Poole with no guarantee he even get a Visa and Alex Davies Visa free who worked his backside off all season to get back on point is let go !, This has got to be the Thursday wind up surely?
  9. See Bradley Dean-Wilson gets stuck with a 5pt average in the PL and rules him out of the NL !. Presumably Adam Ellis will not come in on 5pts; and will start with his last PL average (under 5pts I think). Just plain nonsense because at the last count I have Ellis down as 10.14 in the NL and BDW got 9.83. Absolute baloney; and like always averages are anti-Speedway. My question; did BDW ride National League last season ?; has ever thrown a leg over his bike in the PL ? = 3pt rider. No worries mind because even on 5pts assessed he can easily add 2pts+ to that in the PL. Someone will take a punt.
  10. Wajtknecht; is one that any wise promoter would be sounding out.
  11. Thinking I might have another go at this 3ptr; noting that Jack Parkinson-Blackburn has linked up with Birmingham. Do we have a long term interest in JPB? Surely if so; a conversation to be had is bringing Brummies No2 Zach Wajtknecht into the Scorpions team as our 3ptr. Never ridden PL before and one who definitely comes into the PL in 2016 ready to hit the ground running. Of all the NL to PL riders; who would you want in your team ?, well accepting Adam Ellis and Bradley Wilson-Dean will probably come in above 3pts; then the next one I would be after is Wajtknecht. The 3pt rider is going to be the key to making a serious challenge; if he is seeing off his rival 3ptr AND backing up the more experience reserve. So for me we have to be interested in Wajtknecht; and if as I say JPB is a longer term Scorpions interest going to the Brummies ?. Auty; Holub; Davies; Douglas; Poole; Wilko and Wajtknecht would be a serious team in this league. Cannot see any other 3ptr in the NL score charts that would carry the threat that Wajtknecht would. Other than say Ellis Perks who would defo have a shout if it was up to me. See Danny Ayres; who we were supposedly linked to; has signed for Glasgowski !
  12. For me the 3ptr for us should be Ellis Perks !; convinced he would thrive amongst our Aussie Boys. He was dead unlucky last season that the team struggled and we made changes. Given a run; and alongside Tay; Ryan and Alex he would be one of the best 3ptrs out the NL.
  13. Rob's a rascale !..froggy my a...Welcome Pooley the real Taylor SWIFT; make sure you nab that Visa in the State Titles mind !
  14. Just seen Paul Crutes tweet from the Scunthorpe Telegraph; on our second signing Paul writes "you may be suprised". To me I am now begining to think we might be off the mark on this one.
  15. I reckon your on to something here NBT; good call. Franc's done GP's; and knows the tracks in the PL. Also could keep a watching brief over Czech mate Zednek during his first PL season. Fits perfect; the French references point to Bellego; but that would be just lazy tweeting; Franc as in Pepe not as in French franc. Zoot alors !
  16. Apparently the Draft 3ptr has never ridden PL before; so would rule out Ellis; but I would have liked Ellis to get another chance; which he never really got last time. The French Connection could be a red herring; Robs got previous form for winding us up; and then it turns out different; so it might not be Jingle Bell-ego for Christmas when it comes to it. Looking forward to Thursday; its fun this isn't it?- a Scorpion delivered every week.
  17. Not if they stay fit we won't ! You can't tell me a fully fit Josh Auty and Ryan Douglas won't score points home and away. Alex Davies took best part of the season getting back to what he was afore he had a year out!. Carlos had a good year ; circa his BFinal exploits and EL guest call ups and is competitive everywhere ?. Zed Holub is a real talent at this level trust me. Leaving the last two slots; which are key; but in Rob we trust. We will be challenging if we stay in one piece. If we do pick up a knock we also have rider(s) we can bring in that can do a job Lyager and Lunna are in our "squad".
  18. Delighted to sign Zedi;the clue was at "the do". I spoke to him; and he wanted to race Premier League in 2016. You dont come all the way from Czecho for "pie n peas" !
  19. Don't see why not; he is a NL rider regardless of his being a New Zealander; and never had PL experience which I think is the criteria. But just watch the powers tie him up in red tape and say he should be 5.00. Think he has British family connections though. Suffice to say whoever gets BWD or Adam Ellis has to be nailed on for a tilt at the silverware. Both are head and shoulders above the rest of the NL picks; without any disrespect to the other draft lads.
  20. So we're all sorted for 2016; thinking this through and not totally dismissing Zedi; we all would agree we have needed a big hitter. But with Carlos at reserve we appear not to be able to accommodate one. Well; you might be wrong; how about a potential No1 rider on a what appears to be a false final average. How about this Josh 8.00; Ryan 6.68; Alex 6.26; Carlos 5.33 and our new signings Bellego 5.98; Wilson-Dean 3.00 AND Ritchie Worrall 6.84 = 42.09 what a team; lots of scoring there. Fine if it is Zedi; but I just think that Ritchie Worrall can provide the big scores in the big heats and add 2pts to that average racing back at Scunny. Someone is going to land BWD so why not Scunny? and Bellego is right racer round the EWR; think Rob likes him. I can see Ritchie wanting to move from Somerset; not had the best of seasons and a move back to where it all began; could be a win win.
  21. What your saying is that Theo was not discouraged from keeping his Longtrack commitment. Which meant we could have a proper guest for him and not just an NL rider. Fair enough then well done Rob and cheers to Theo for taking the rap. Trust we did the decent thing by him and helped with any fine. Like I said rider of the year for me and would welcome him back; but dont see that. Not with you that we are poor team without him. Wont be many with a rider like Wilko at No6.
  22. Would not disagree all things being equal. But you get the impression that his missing our final match due to an overseas commitment burnt a bridge but Rob said there was no hard feelings. For me Theo was superb all season and Rider of the Year no disrespect to Carlos who lifted that pot last week. I would have Theo back; he is a safe and accomplished motorcyclist always racing with his head. I saw him guest up at Berwick late season and he did well alongside Thomas and both could be resident up in Bandit country in 2016.
  23. Rob said Carlos starts as reserve so Josh has to be the highest average in the team. There must be sufficient reason to believe Ryan will be ok. I think we have elected to go 1-6 in strength rather than an out n out No1 Anders Mellgren has unfinishd business with us; and can be a 7-8 point rider. Whilst Zdnecks inclusion means we take something from this season and put it into next. He definitely could be a success in this league in 2016. Good machinery and commitment. Theres a lot of points in a team of: Auty;Holoub;Douglas;:Davies; Mellgren; Wilko and NL rider. I would not go for Perry by the way; he was nowhere when he came in for Matty last year.
  24. Agree AJ; if he has to comeback via the State route (and believe me I don't think he should have to) but; if he has to; then he surely comes back on a 7.00pt average. As SCB points out; he did not make 7.00 in his official meetings and so that's why he might have to qualify for a Visa. But that does not make it right; its saying that despite serious injury wrecking his season; and ability to reach the required level, he returns as a "better and higher averaged rider"; as he has to be rated 7.00 in 2016; if we are saying he needs a new Visa. Riders who have suffered serious injury; would usually have downward adjustments to averages surely ? You cannot miss nigh on a whole season and be a better rider for it.
