  1. Well it depends if we want to just compete in the league or actually try and win the bloody thing.
  2. Really hope this is the case because there is nothing would give me greater pleasure in seeing Robert line-up for the Stars in 2016. We should be looking to build the team around him for the next few years at least.
  3. Well if it was just a straight choice, I think you'd struggle to find to disagree with you. Think every Lynn fan would choose Lindgren (even Ludvig) Just think there should be better options available, Michelsen being one.
  4. Certainly didn't give any indication that he was thinking of changing leagues. I like Freddie. Hard, committed and forceful but in all honesty on the way down now (plus like you say, can't see Wolves letting him go).
  5. Mikkel Michelsen 5.67 looks great value on that average.
  6. Seems ridiculous that the Stars season has come to an end in early September (bar one possible home meeting) so thoughts now turn to 2016. The many wrongs of last season have been discussed elsewhere so let's look forward to what 2016 can bring. As always qualifying for the play-offs should be the minimum ambition for the season. Team wise, I'd love to keep Niels and Robert though not sure how likely the latter is with all the rumours flying around.. Difficult to know what's happening with Lewis and Rory before making any decisions about them. Always an element of risk when coming back from the major injuries they suffered. Also in the case of EDR's, aren't they meant to progress into the main body after two years? In terms of assets, surely Lewis Rose and Simon Lambert should be considered for a reserve berth. Think Nick could come into the mix depending on averages. Not progressed as I'd hoped this season but at just under 5 and another's years experience under his belt, he could prove useful. Can't see Kenneth coming back and sure he'll go elsewhere. Wouldn't be surprised to see him as Peterborough's No. 1 next season as I think he's now managed to get his average under 6. As for riders elsewhere, would take Thorsell if he was released from Wolves. Always competitive at Lynn and would surely increase his average. If for some reason Niels was unavailable, I'd hope we'd be in the (long) queue for Jason Doyle. Wouldn't mind seeing a couple of fresh faces come into the side. Would love to see Piotr Pawlicki, Zmarzlik or Dudek line-up for the Stars but so would everyone else and not sure Buster's too keen on the Polish option. Like Nicolaj Busk Jakobsen when I've seen him for Rye House. Fredrik Engman and Joel Andersson both look promising but maybe still a bit raw to been thrown into a full EL season. Ramble over
  7. Any weather updates please? Currently at the National Speedway Museum and now raining. Hoping in to take in today's match on the way home
  8. Was also planning to come to this and tie it in with a trip to the National Speedway Musuem but forecast has put me off.
  9. Looking forward to seeing the Stars in action as missed the Coventry meeting. Shame Musielak is missing as I was looking forward to seeing him in action. Lindgren, PK and Thorsell are also good value at Lynn and expect some good races between Kerr and Blackbird. Weather looking spot on as well. Bring it on
  10. Updates on tonight's meeting are available from https://twitter.com/KLStarsUpdates You are more than welcome to use them on Speedway Updates Sue
  11. I'm the fan from the King's Lynn fans view. Was really chuffed to be asked.
  12. Probably says more about the promoters and the state of the sport. If people would rather watch a tiny screen with no commentary or on screen graphics than turn up at their local track, I'd say they should be looking closer to home rather than blame Bet365.
  13. I dunno, with Chris Holder telling Nick Porsing on Facebook to bring his MX bike to Poole I reckon he's got one bit right already
  14. More info on FIM website - http://www.fim-live.com/en/article/fim-world-speedway-league-2015/
  15. Agreed, that is some work Cheekyboys2 The track record for Lynn is certainly wrong though, It's certainly Nicki P. as posted by GB earlier in thread. Also according to the records I'm putting together for a little project I'm working on, Terry Betts averaged 10.51 in 1972 from 32 meetings (7 full max's, 2 paid). I'm also pretty certain Michael Lee averaged higher in about 1978 but not got the figures to hand at the moment so can't check that. Edit - Just noticed Leicester's track record is also wrong as I was there when Niels-Kristian Iversen smashed the previous best. It's was 59.06 on 07/06/2014 unless of course someone has broken it since then.
  16. Excellent thank you, fingers crossed for good weather on the 22nd. Can't wait to see/hear bikes again.
  17. Was mentioned at Lynn forum tonight that Jacob's was due to ride for the Witches in the PL this season before dropping the bombshell of his retirement.
  18. Glad to see some good old fashioned common sense from both sides has led to Lambert's inclusion. Hopefully both parties have learnt from the fallout. It's actually not a bad looking side and at least gives some hope for the future given the current crop of Team GB "stars".
  19. Hi Mike Do you have any details about Alec Wright (age etc). Been very impressed with him in the MDL meetings so far but don't know anything about him. Certainly would like to see him given a Stars contract and take the same path as Josh Bailey (i.e. a team spot in the Young Stars next year).
  20. Stars skipper Rory Schlein is attempting to raise £10,000 for Breast Cancer Care (full details below). As one of the thousands of families who have had loved ones diagnosed with breast cancer, he has my full support and hopefully the support of the rest of the speedway community as well. Good luck Rory, I hope you smash your target. ---------------- Taken from http://www.roryschlein.com/rory-takes-on-10000-challenge/ International Speedway rider and captain of the Kings Lynn Stars Rory Schlein has set a target of £10,000 to raise for Breast Cancer Care by the end of the current season. The popular racer has decided to let his beard and hair grow until the last home Kings Lynn Stars meeting of the season against Swindon on August 27th, 2014, then it will be shaved off during the interval. Ahead of the challenge, Rory said: Breast Cancer Care is a great charity and one I am keen to help by using my profile within the speedway world. My friend and mechanic Lee sadly lost his sister to the disease recently and to be honest, it knocked me back a bit and made me think I want to help. We have got lots of things planned during the season and I hope, with your help, we reach the target of £10,000. There are plenty of ways to get involved with Rorys challenge. Special pink Shave The Roo wristbands will be available soon at tracks around the country and can also be purchased via his website. A range of merchandise will also be available soon with all profits going to the Shave The Roo challenge. On July 16, Kings Lynn Speedway have agreed to turn the Norfolk Arena pink for the night with fans urged to dress in pink to support Rory challenge. The Stars will be wearing special one-off race jackets which will be auctioned off to help raise funds. Every 10 minutes someone in the UK hears the devastating news that they have breast cancer. The confusion and fear that this causes will be felt not just by the person diagnosed, but by their family and friends too. Breast Cancer Care is just a phone call or mouse-click away for anyone living with breast cancer ensuring that when breast cancer overshadows life were there for the person underneath. Visit www.breastcancercare.org.uk or call our free helpline on 0808 800 6000 for any breast health concerns.
  21. Scunny lineup as follows: 1. Steve Jones, 2. Ryan Macdonald, 3. Danno Verge, 4. Adam Kirby, 5. Sam Woods, 6. Danny Ayres, 7. Liam Sanderson Can't see anything other than a big Stars win but looking forward to seeing Macdonald, Ayres & Sanderson in action for the first time.
  22. Thoughts - guests shouldn't be allowed in the NL but that's a different conversation Think it's the toughest start possible for the Young Stars. Can't see past Cradley for winning the lot again. Just hoping for a decent season that will see Lewis Rose mature into a NL no 1 and seeing Josh Bailey continue to progress.
  23. Hoping to hear more about this tomorrow. Sounds a great way to get ready for the league campaign
  24. Darryl Ritchings has signed on loan from Swindon
