  1. I think Ned meant is it still opened as in "this year". Mose said on Friday at Armadale that the 13th was the last Sunday for this year.
  2. For the life of me I just don't see how the fire can cause the speedway to be cancelled. We still have toilets at the end of the stand and the hospitality unit could be used for the sale of drink. We didn't have a lounge for a couple of years so I would think we could manage for one meeting and let James have his farewell.
  3. A few years ago there was a number acts of "vandalism" but after a bit of intervention from a local it stopped.
  4. More bad news coming out of Glasgow, the new bar has been destroyed in a fire.
  5. When I saw the thread "Rolling Average" I thought it was the number of times riders were pulled back by the ref.
  6. Where would the starting gate be? If it was on the straight it would need to go into a recess in the track, how would you keep the shale out. If it wasn't would you start at the end of the straight? Some tracks may not have the room to do this. I remember they tried a thick rope laid behind the bikes to stop backward movement, so maybe a bar behind the back wheel would be better.
  7. The season has to start and stop at some point. You can't just stop because of a wet day . What if the first meeting is rained off? Do you just call it a day for the season?
  8. Probably because we don't have a forward thinking and joined up junior policy. To quote "The Referee has declared the meeting closed" The Scottish Junior Championship is for the George Beaton Memorial Trophy and wasn't raced for last year either. It has to be said that the junior meeting has been very poorly attended over the last few years.
  9. So the next time the meeting is cancelled I'll just go in case it might just be on. I
  10. Wouldn't happen at Glasgow. Ref declares "Meeting closed" after result of last race is announced.
  11. Django, as you say Richard has moved south, so it would be impossible to work with his Dad but I don't see how that would stop him coming to Glasgow.
  12. Don't hold your breath George. Unless we get someone in who knows what they are doing we're stuffed.
  13. I have to say that I am very disappointed with Joe's decision to stop racing. According to the Glasgow site he is out injured, what's the truth?
  14. I reckon this fence thing is due to the E.L. needing more teams, perhaps to suit SKY. So if you can't afford one you could form a New National League with the current N.L.
