Don't spoil it for me Rami. To me Tommy won that race

Im sorry to shatter your illusions but i have watched this meeting so many times that ive worn the tape out ( got it transfered to dvd now!!!) and Bruce clearly won the race by a mile!!! lol (nothing to do with me being a cradley fan and Bruce being my all time hero honest)
But as i also said i think In my era of watching speedway Tommy was the best rider never to win a world final, also watched a few videos recently of the coventry v cradley meetings from the early 80s and TK was truly awesome around Brandon ( no where near as good as Erik mind !!!!

Nothing to do with been a Cradley fan !!!! One of the best riders never to win a world title yes I will go along with that.
What about Ole Olsen, surely the best Coventry rider.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Like i said Tommy was one of the greatest riders to wear the Bees race jacket.
Ole was the greatest.

OOPS sorry misread the thread please accept my appologies.
Not been yet but myself and Spin Junior, are planning to make a visit at least once this season.
Have spoken to one or two down at Sheffield training track who tell me it is a lovely track to ride.
He came to Sheffield on his "tour" as well, and went around in about 56 seconds, which hasn't been done on a normal bike even now! Nobody had seen anything quite like it at the time.
He used to spectate at Long Eaton a lot in the late 80's as well.

56 seconds now that is very fast.
I thought all JAPs had disappeared from the Speedway scene by the mid-late 70s.
I'd love someone to confirm that there was still one about in the 80s......I'll have to sit down and think about this!

I thought it was even earlier than that.
Sorry to hear of this terrible news, I think I saw him riding but not sure, but always upseting to hear of a rider passing away at a relatively young age.
