Seem to remember there was an American rider called Sonny Nutter. Also there was a guy mentioned earlier Jon Jon White, don't know about a strange name but the guy himself was a bit strange.
I remember reading an interview in the Speedway Star with him, talk about wanting to live in caves, wonder what happened to him.
Thanks for reminding me I had vague memories of it, and I would only be 9 at the time.
I rember at the time think like most people that we did not stand a chance.
I remember Anders in a run off with Peter Collins at a test match at Sheffield many moons ago, can't remember when as I would not be very old, but was one of the best races I have ever seen live.
I agree with you there Norbold Ivan is still the greatest rider ever, forget Tony Rickardsson.
The thing that does infuriate me that we have the Ove Fundin World Team Championship, when is Ivan going to receive the same accolade.
My best ever seen in the flesh
(1) Ivan Mauger
(2) Bruce Penhall
(3) Hans Neilson
(3) Eric Gundersen
(4) Ole Olsen
(5) Peter Collins
(6) Michael Lee
(7) Shawn Moran.l
This definately a classy final and one of the best I have seen in years, pity there is no Brit's but just goes to show how far we have gonew behind the rest.
Are we sure this is not Shoddy on the forum, he always goes on about Neil Evitts!
No if I saw him again I would know exactly who he was nobody could shout like that guy.
I remember Glenn Parrott , also around that time there was a certain 15 year old called Gary Havelock, he was another one that slipped through the net.
Can anybody remember a Belle Vue fan called Old Soldier Boy, he used to follow Peter Collins all over and kind of hero worshipped him.
Does anybody know hat happened to him.
