His last average riding for Kings Lynn 2023 was 7:81. Would he be given a 2.5% UK reduction is up for debate.

I hear what you are saying. But It is a weaker league than last season. Teams this season have from 40 points limit for the top 6, down to 37 points. Theoretically with lesser teams in the league the points limit should have gone up rather than down. I think it is going to difficult to predict which teams are going to finish in the Play Off positions, which all teams will be aiming for.

No Surprises then welcome back again Picko.
-
I would say that it will be Josh Pickering over Tom Brennan after what he told the Speedway Star regarding the structure of the League's for the coming season. Given a choice I would rather go with Josh over Tom.
-
I reckon they will go with Chris Holder, Josh Pickering and Jye Etheridge. Rising Star either Jody Scott or Luke Harrison.
-
For the record has Chris Louis gone public on the real reason for putting the club up for sale? Has he actually stated that he does not agree with the way the sport has been run? Or could it be that there are other reasons, which would be private like family/ health reasons. Chris Louis comes across a proud man, could he live with the idea that he was the man to possibly shutdown Ipswich speedway. Or does he have a buyer waiting to takeover the club.

I think some of the Sheffield fans who think that Brennan is a dirty rider are thinking back to his Guest appearance for Sheffield 2024. Sheffield v Kings Lynn Heat 10 Brennan dived under Kvech and kept taking Kvech out to the fence, who had to get off the throttle to avoid crashing out. It was a naughty move that some may construe as dirty riding some say it was hard riding. Interesting Brennan finished 2nd in the race and finished the night on a 4 ride paid maximum.

Never been a particular fan of Tom Brennan. But if had the chance to sign him, I would not say no. I remember him doing a Guest booking at Owlerton and he did well. In saying all that I think he will be at Ipswich next season.
-
And in the Speedway Star it has been stated that announcement on the club ownership would be before Christmas.
-
I mention this in an earlier post. For me it is a bit coincidental that Tru Group pull out sponsoring Sheffield citing they want to concentrate on Ipswich. Then Chris Louis put the club up for sale.
-
Just a thought here. Tru Group have finished their sponsorship of Sheffield. Reason for that was explained they want to concentrate on backing Ipswich. Could it be that Guy Nicholls has offered to buyout Chris Louis at Ipswich with an offer Chris Louis could not turn down.
-
Interesting that both directors on the BSPL for the Premiership have announced from the end of the season and now have put their clubs up sale (Louis and Bates). Does make you feel as though there has been a breakdown between Promoters in the sport.
-
I think that without the TV money and sponsorship now lost I personally don't see Sheffield running next season. And I think if they are gone I think that will be us gone forever.
-
Why would Northampton run at Oxford. There is a shale track at Northampton running stock cars. Could they not run speedway there?
-
Sheffield New Owners successful local business operators with close links to Sheffield Speedway and the sport in general. 3 parties come to mind. Ian Hunter from Sheffield Window Centre former Sheffield Speedway Sponsors. The Stead Family. Ashley and Jonno Birks. Possibly a consortium involving all or some of these.

I would say that the finishing places in the league will be same as they are at the present. (1st) Ipswich (2nd) Leicester (3rd) Sheffield (4th) Belle Vue

BHM 25/08 (midday) Aces v Tigers

Interesting I look at each of the 4 play off teams accumulative team averages home and away, not rolling averages but meetings this season. These were the results before today's group of meetings. Belle Vue home 48.19 away 37:06 total 85.25 Ipswich (Based on Jason Edwards in the team) home 51.40 away 40.77 total 92.17 Leicester home 44.88 away 39.91 total 84.79 Sheffield home 48.62 away 40.36 total 88.98 Based on season form book we are looking at a Ipswich v Sheffield Final. With Ipswich running out eventual winners. Will be interesting to see if that come true to form. -
For me the top 4 will finish as the following; (1) Ipswich (2) Leicester (3) Sheffield (4) Belle Vue As far as I understand it teams don't pick their opponents. Its 1st v4th and 2nd v 3rd. If this is the case then I believe the following happens. Ipswich will beat Belle Vue Leicester will beat Sheffield. A final of Ipswich v Leicester could go either way, I am sitting on the fence for that one.
